CHAPTER 54

Anne froze on her steps as her eyes locked with Lothaire's menacing and intimidating one, he was inhumanely gorgeous, tall and his features were just perfect but he was also terrifying. She was a tough girl and she had never felt intimidated or scared by anyone no matter how powerful or dangerous the person was but at that moment, she shuddered in fear just by staring at those cold golden eyes of his that emanated darkness from within, she had never met someone like him in all her life she had been introduced to dangerous men by her father but she could sense the raw evil coming from him and she wondered how on earth her innocent friend got acquainted with such a dangerous man.

Larisa noticed her friend's reaction when she saw Lothaire but she wasn't surprised knowing exactly what he was and she knew she wouldn't hear the last of it from her because she would be worried about her seeing the dangerous man that she was in a relationship with. Anne treated her like a big sister and she took the role of protecting her like a big sister and she knew she would be against the mysterious dark man because she didn't want to see her get hurt but she would make it clear to anyone that stood in she and Lothaire's way that he was her choice and it was either him or no one else.

Anne quietly followed behind Larisa as she walked toward the mysterious and eerie looking man. Immediately she came closer to him, Anne felt his dark presence become stronger and the hair on her hands stood erect as she shuddered slightly in fear but she managed to stand tall, ignoring her fear which was hard to do as the man towered above her even though she was tall.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." Larisa said apologetically seeing as he stood in the same position she had left him waiting for her but she knew he wasn't in the least tired.

"It's fine." He replied with a stoic expression as his eyes narrowed to the tall blonde beside Larisa whom he could sense her fear.

"This is my friend Anne and Anne this is Lothaire." Larisa introduced with an excited tone and Anne wondered how she could be so relaxed with the strange eerie creature.

"Hi, its n..nice to m..meet you." Anne managed to say as she cleared her throat but she stuttered slightly. Lothaire merely averted his gaze from her uninterested in exchanging pleasantries.

Anne scoffed loudly on his rudeness as he ignored her and Larisa bit her bottom lips knowing that Anne would never like Lothaire with his rude, highly egoistic and arrogant personality.

"Why don't we have lunch together?" Larisa asked, trying to get rid of the intensity in the air. Anne shot her a glare before saying,

"Can I speak to you for a minute...In private?" Anne said emancipating on every word. Larisa shot Lothaire a look, thinking he would refuse because of his possessive nature but he just nodded, gesturing for her to go.

"Sure." She said as she followed Anne out of the hallway and inside an empty class.

"What in the bloody fuck!!" Anne exclaimed immediately she shut the door as she turned to Larisa with a wary look on her face.

"I know what you're going to say, but trust me, he's not a bad person...He's just different." Larisa said in a panicked tone as she had anticipated Anne's reaction already. She knew she could never accept him for her but she didn't care, as long as she had already accepted him she didn't need anyone else.

"Where the fuck did you even find that guy from? Is that why you didn't want to come back?" Anne queried with wide unbelievable eyes.

"I'm in love with him and he loves me too, that's all that matters." Larisa mumbled but it was loud enough for Anne to hear and for a moment, Anne could see her eyes swirling with genuine emotions and she knew that her feelings for him were true, but even though, she thought the man was too dangerous for her innocent friend and she knew just how much harm dangerous men like him inflicted on people and she didn't want her friend to be a victim to it.

"Larisa." Anne called softly, hoping she would heed to her warnings about the dangerous man. "I know you think you're in love but I know a dangerous man when I see one and I've never felt so...Intimidated in my life before until I laid my eyes on him. He's really dangerous and I know danger when I see one." Anne warned, trying to protect her innocent friend. Larisa expected her to act that way, like a protective big sister looking out for her younger sister and she was grateful that Anne really cared about her but she didn't understand, she couldn't understand since she didn't know the whole truth about Lothaire but she couldn't tell her who he really was because her reaction, she couldn't anticipate at all.

"I know you're worried because of his presence but he takes care of me and he'd never hurt me. He's only rude to other people but he puts me first and he'd do literally anything for me." Larisa said persuasively and not a word was a lie because he'd do anything and everything for her but Anne found it hard to believe since his eeriness and dangerous presence clouded her judgement.

"It's like something from a fantasy novel and you're like the innocent Angel that fell in love with the devil and I'm really not shocked that you're with a dangerous man like him because you're obsessed with those dark fairy tales and always wanted your life to be like one but this is reality Larisa and the danger is real, so stop dreaming and wake up." Anne said and Larisa sighed in frustration knowing that Anne would never understand as long as she was unaware of his identity.

"I give up arguing with you but no matter what you or anyone says, I won't leave him." Larisa stated her decision firmly and Anne creased her brows pressing her lips in a thin line.

"Well, I'm not sure your parents would be so happy to have him either." Anne said with a grim look on her face.

"Well they won't have a choice anyway." Larisa blurted out as she crossed her arms on her chest and Anne shot her a wary look.

"What do you mean by they won't have a choice?" Anne asked cautiously with a stern voice like an older sister scolding her younger one.

"We...W..We.." Larisa stuttered as she bit her lower lips in nervousness.

"We're married!" Came the deep masculine voice of Lothaire as the door burst open with him coming into their view. Larisa and Anne shot their eyes towards him as Anne's eyes widened and lower mouth touched the floor in shock at his words.

"What?!!" Anne exclaimed loudly as she exchanged looks between the both of them in a shock filled face. She hadn't realized Larisa was married because she hid her ring in her bag since she was still nervous on breaking the news to her friend. "You got married and you didn't tell anyone?? When did all this happen?? How??" Anne shot her questions.

"It doesn't matter. We're already married." Lothaire said with a hard voice and Anne shot him a glare even though she was still scared of him but right then, her anger and shock overpowered her fear for him. She was angry at the fact that she had always wanted to be Larisa's maid of honor but now it was never going to happen because she wasn't even invited to the wedding and she was shocked because she knew very well that her friend barely knew the guy for more than three months but they were already married in a period of two months.

"I need explanation Larisa." Anne said, ignoring Lothaire's words.

"We fell in love and got married and if you're mad about not being invited, it was my idea, like she told you I don't like people around." Lothaire said with a sardonic smirk on his lips and Anne wondered if he was eaves dropping on their discussions which made her a bit tense.

"You guys barely know each other." Anne said glaring at him, sensing danger around his actions and she wondered what his motive was with her friend.

"Love has no time." He quoted with a sarcastic grin on his face as he looked at Larisa with mischievous eyes and Anne scoffed in disbelief.

"You should have at least told your parents, they'll never agree to this." Anne said sternly to Larisa.

"We don't need their blessings, we already have nature's blessings." Lothaire said with an arrogant tone and Anne shot him a disbelieving look.

"You're talking about her parents, show some respect." Anne said angrily and Larisa could feel Lothaire's dark aura getting heavier and suffocating as he was already being ticked by her friend but he was silent and it was a dangerous one.

"Can we just go now? I'm starving." Larisa said immediately, clearing the dark air caused by Lothaire's anger.

'The next time she tests me, I'll have her head' Lothaire swore as he walked out of the class.
