End Of Spring

The air hung heavy with the last sighs of spring, a bittersweet symphony of fading cherry blossoms as it started to welcome the heat of summer. The Sunlight gently caresses the buildings and vehicles beneath it, woven into a tapestry of the city. The clouds slowly moved forward, bidding their farewells as they gave way to the sunlight.

But somewhere in the city, a building stood tall, looking down at the people walking on the road. In a small apartment in the building, a young boy was getting ready as he wore his uniform. His crisp white shirt served as his undershirt, a deep blue blazer with golden embroidery on his chest his loyal knight's cloak, and grey trousers his trusty steed, preparing for the unknown challenges ahead.

He grabbed a bag beside his bed. The weight of the contents inside started to settle on the boy as he slung it over his shoulder and went to the door. He wore the polished black shoes by the door gleaming like obsidian mirrors and clasped the doorknob. The cold iron knob reminded him of the unknown territory behind the door, one which he never dare venture before. With a deep breath, he pushed open the door and started his journey.

He navigated a vibrant tapestry of life - a sun-dappled park where laughter danced on the breeze, a mosaic of faces on the pedestrian walkway, each a story waiting to unfold.

With a steady resolve in his steps, the young boy traversed the asphalt battlefield. The cacophony of sounds from the vehicles pierced through the air like battle cries of impatient warriors, each a defiant roar leaving no room for defeat.

After walking some distance, finally, the imposing gates of his destination loomed into view, a gateway to a grand adventure. As he looked to the front, several boys and girls, wearing the same uniform, entered through the gates. Their faces, a mix of nervousness and apprehension. However, some faces were painted with excitement, ready to explore the hidden mysteries beyond.

The boy stood outside for a moment before entering. He looked at the imposing structure laid out in front of him, a canvas painted with more than just bricks and mortar. Its sheer height cast a long shadow, dwarfing everyone's figures. With a determined glint in his eyes, the boy with a resolute stride crossed the threshold like a warrior ready to conquer the challenges that lay ahead.

After entering through the gate, the boy navigated the labyrinthine ways in the huge establishment, each turn revealing new faces and a new pair of curious eyes. He looked at others going in different directions. Hesitation tugged at his heart from feeling lost. He thought of asking someone for help but immediately dismissed that thought.

As he rounded the corner from the end of a corridor, a girl with glasses struck with him. Her glasses went flying off her face, her handbag got dropped on the floor and she herself fell to the ground. However, the boy kept standing, looking at the beautiful canvas of a girl clad in the same uniform, apart from her grey skirt, with his indifferent gaze.

Dazed, the girl lifted her neck. Her gaze, a mix of surprise and curiosity, met the boy's. A moment of silence passed between them after the boy extended his hand to the fallen girl. Instead of taking his hand, however, she noticed the deep scar on the back of his hand. Hesitance flickered in her eyes but she reluctantly accepted the help. After getting up from the ground, she dusted off her clothes and picked up her glasses and handbag.

"Um…could you tell me where the staff room is?" the boy hesitantly asked. His request hung in the air, a plea for guidance in this vast unknown territory. He found himself lost in this huge building, turning every corner to look for the teacher's room. But he only got to see a new face in every turn murmuring with others.

The girl flinched at this sudden request, a flicker of surprise crossed her face. However, she replied by pointing the door down the hallway "Go straight…beyond the door there are stairs…go to the next floor...the staff room is to the right…"

"Thank You," The boy understood her instructions and showed his gratitude.

After that, the boy parted ways with the girl and headed towards the door at the end. Meanwhile, the girl kept staring at his back, lost in her ocean of thoughts, still processing what had just transpired. But then the corner of her mouth curved into a smile while she looked at the fading figure. "Looks like someone interesting has just come…" After saying her thoughts, she went back to her own way.
