Chapter 13: MORE(PART-2)

With careful steps, Leo made his way towards the injured nomad.

With the short sword in his hand, he carefully parted the leaves, showing the figure of the injured person surrounded by 5 'Wild wolves'.

Honestly saving a nomad wasn't something he was planning to do after all looking at the gruesome wounds on the nomad's body, even if he was able to save him the chances of the nomad surviving were pretty much nonexistent.

But his thought process changed when he saw the sudden window which appeared before his eyes.

[You have encountered a special situation.]

[Quest: A Moment Of Kindness(No rank)]

[Mission Objective: Save the man from monsters.]

[Friendly remainder: Although you may look different, in the end you two belong to the same race, save him from his plight and you will earn some good karma.]

Reward-> Unknown.]

'This world is becoming more and more like a game.....'

Leo thought as he quickly jumped out of the woods and aimed at the wolf nearest to him.

With his current strength, handling these animals was but child's play.

Surely enough after two wolves constitutively, the rest quickly ran away with their tails between their legs.

[Congratulations on killing 2 'Wild Wolves' you have been awarded 60 points.]

Instead of chasing after the wolves who ran away, Leo stunned to look at the nomad, the person was shivering in fear after seeing Leo kill two wolves in what seemed like an instant.

Leo approached the man who in turn raised the stick in towards him and started shouting in an unknown language.

"Grdtg wowo"

Leo couldn't understand what the man was saying.

But looking at him continuosly huffing for sir, a realisation stuck Leo.

He stopped a little distance away from the man and pulled out the jar hanging by his side.

There was water present in the glass jar which Leo filled up at the lake before, he slowly placed the jar on the ground and then retreated a few steps back.

The man was vigilant at first as neither of them made a move for a while, Leo wondered how long the nomad can hold on for with those grievous wounds.

Not long after the man slowly made his way towards the jar, with quick movement he grabbed the jar and started drinking from it in a hurry.

After the man was done, he placed down on the jar and quickly fell down on the ground, it looked like the injuries were finally getting to him.

"erddd wowo"

Unfortunately Leo was unable to understand what the man was saying, perhaps the nomad understood that as well or maybe he was just too tired to say anything else as he stopped speaking.

Getting a closer look, Leo could see that the man's face looked pale due to blood loss, he knew that the person didn't have long to live, Leo was unable to do anything about this, it was beyond his power to treat such wounds.

And so he decided to silently wait for the person to move forward, it looked like he would fail the mission, still atleast he could accompany the man so that he wouldn't be ripped apart by the wolves.

While Leo was looking at the surrounding, the nomad suddenly raised his hand towards him, raising an eyebrow Leo walked towards him.

Even after coming right beside the man, he didn't put down his hand, hesitating slightly Leo grabbed the it.

Then something miraculous happened.

Blood flowed out from the man's arm and quickly rushed onto Leo's.

Leo wanted to pull his hand back but then a new screen appeared before his eyes.

[Congratulations on completing the quest

{A Moment Of Kindness(No rank)}]

[You have received [Trust Mark](No rank) of the 'Wowo' tribe, in the future people of the 'Wowo' tribe will treat you with respect.]

[The system encourages you to keep doing good deeds, you have been awarded a special reward,

[All purpose healing medicine] No rank,

[Lowest-level healing bandage] No rank.]

A bottle with spherical shaped balls and a bandage appeared before him.

Holding the bandage in his right hand, Leo looked down at the nomad who has stopped reacting after giving him the [Trust Mark].

Getting down he check his condition, the nomad was still alive but was on his last breadths.

Staring at the wound at his abdomen, Leo looked at the bandage, after a little hesitation he spread it open and started winding it around the injured area.

After Leo was done, he something unexpected happened, the bandage which he just winded around the man's abdomen started glowing with faint light.

Leo blamed it on magic as he picked up the man and started slowly making his way back.

Moving through the forest, Leo managed to reach the spot where he left Kaira.

Unfortunately what greeted him was empty ground, the woman was nowhere to be seen, it looked like she had run away on her own.

Since she left on her own, Leo decided not to think deeply about it after all they have met for less than a day, this they were strangers at best.

*Crunch*

Just as he was about to move away, sound of someone stepping on dry leaves entered his ears.

"Don't just leave without any warning the next time......", Kaira said in a disgruntled voice as she stepped out of her hiding spot.

Seeing Leo's blank face she released a sigh of resignation, knowing he couldn't understand her anyway.

As she was making her way towards him, Leo suddenly threw something at her.

"W-what"

Caught by surprise, Kaira instinctively raised her hand and caught the small bottle.

"All purpose healing medicine..."

Kaira muttered in a small voice, but Leo's eyes narrowed when he heard what she said.

'She can also see the status window....'

Leo concluded when he saw her taking out one of the pills and eating it.

"You really did ended up saving him...", Kaira said in an exaggerated voice as she stared at the unconscious nomad on Leos back.

"So what are we going to do now.", Kaira said while making weird hand gestures, perhaps it was her way of conveying the message to Leo.

Leo rolled his eyes at her stupid poses, he really wanted to tell her that sign language doesn't work like that.

Moving his head, Leo stared at the direction the nomad came from.

"Come out."

Leo shouted suddenly, catching Kaira off guard just as she was wondering what Leo has said, a figure which was hiding in the vegetation quickly rushed to them.

It was a wolf.

Seeing the monster appear, Kaira quickly stood behind Leo and stared at the animal with vigilance.

Not bothering about her reaction, Leo got down on one knee and said.

"Trace it back."

The collers effect showed itself as the wolf was able to understand what Leo said.

Moving to his back, it started sniffing the unconscious nomad.

Seeing the interaction between Leo and the wolf, Kaira was stuck with a realisation.

"Is that your pet?"

The more she looked at the interaction between Leo and the wolf the more certain she became.

The wolf turned around and started running towards a particular direction.

Leo followed suit with Kaira right behind him.

Night arrived as the visibility of the human eye decreased to a rock bottom.

Kaira was now closely sticking behind Leo in order to not get lost, she was barely able to see the trees around her, fortunately it was a full moon tonight, providing her with atleast a little visibility.

Although the medicine was termed [No Rank] it was still a lot better than expected, in less than an hour she managed to recover from her fever.

Unfortunately right now her hunger level was rising but she was unable to directly mention it to Leo after she was already relying on him for her protection much less ask for food as well......

Biting down on her lower lip she suppressed her hunger and kept moving forward.

Meanwhile Leo was also frowning, for some time now he has been looking out for some animal which can be used as food, but for some reason the entire forest felt deserted as he has yet to spot a prey to hunt.

Thanks to his increased body strength, Leo was able to see quite well even in the darkness.

It couldn't be compared to the daytime but he atleast wasn't almost blind like Kaira.

'We need to find a place to spend the night as well.....', Leo frowned as he looked around the dense forest.

His original plan was to visit the so called 'Wowo' tribe as he just obtained the [Trust Mark] from the nomad, plus by bringing an injured clansman back he should be able to win their goodwill as well.

But even after walking for all this time there wasn't any sign of the so called 'Wowo' clan anywhere.

'Atleast his condition is improving...', Leo thought as he felt the rhythmic breathing of the nomad from his back.

It looked like the bandage was quite effective.

It made Leo wonder how powerful a higher ranking item will be, even a [No Rank] bandage was able to save the man's life.

While Leo was wondering if he should just give up the chase for today.

The sound of something cutting through air reached his ears.

In an instant warning sounds rang out in Leo's mind as he shouted without hesitation.

"Move away."

Not bothering whether she understood him of not, Leo quickly jumped to his right side, barely avoiding an arrow which suddenly landed on the spot he was at.

"What-----"

Before Kaira could even understand what was happening a hand quickly reached out and pulled her away in a hurry.

"Don't loose focus."

Leo said in a harsh voice as he put down the nomad on his back.

The fast series of actions were too much for her mind to follow as she instinctively nodded her head after hearing Leo's instruction.

But then a thought suddenly hit her.

'Wait he just used the Empire's language didn't he?'

Suppressing the doubts on her heart.

Kaira quickly asked.

"Don't tell me it's the nomads."

Seeing several arrows on the place she was just standing at a moment ago, goosebumps rose all over Kaira's skin, if Leo hadn't pulled her in the last moment then she would have been dead by now.

Leo didn't reply to her, he was too focused on finding the enemy's position then anything else right now.

*Growl*

The angry howl of his pet could be heard from ahead, it seemed like the wolf was fighting with someone.

Leo wanted to rush out from behind the tree to help but he had no idea where the archers might be hiding.

Fir all he know they might just be waiting for him to rush out from his spot.

But he couldn't stay in this place either as they might be circling them from the sides.

While Leo was having a hard time deciding what to do.

"There is one hiding in that direction, behind the leaves...."

Kaira's sudden voice caught his attention.

"There is one in that direction....."

"There as well....

"That one is closing in from above....."

Suddenly Kaira stopped as she looked at Leo who was staring straight at her.

"There's no time we need to run now."

Kaira urged as she held her forehead in pain.

Leo silently stared at the trail of blood flowing out from her nose.

'She was indeed hiding something...'

Taking in a deep breath, Leo said.

"Point it out once more."

Kaira nodded as she moved her finger.

Remembering the positions, Leo said.

"Go and hide."

Not waiting for her to reply, Leo quickly strongly grabbed the bark of the tree he was hiding behind and with one stong movement he climed half the tree in an instant.

Kaira's mouth was hung wide open as she witness the inhuman display of power, turning her head down she blankly stared at the human hand print which had appeared on the tree bark.

What kind of power was that?

To be able to dig his hand in this the hard wood.

Kaira shivered slightly as she quickly moved away from her spot, she couldn't take the injured nomad with her, after all he was too heavy for her to drag around.
