4.14 We can fly?

Shu XinYi didn't understand what happened so suddenly. He thought Xuval might be facing a backlash from his old wounds so he walked forward to anxiously ask, "Are you ok? Should I do something? Can I do something? Please! Say something."

Xuval looked up, his eyes tear stained as he said in a broken voice "I am sorry for being hopeless. I don't know why I love you this much. It's been so long XinYi. I feel like I have been waiting for so long. I can't let you go."

Shu XinYi too sat on the ground and held Xuval's face up asking with an equally broken voice "Who said you were allowed to let go of me? Who said you are allowed to be any less hopeless? I f*cking love you. How many lives would it take for you to understand this? You are not allowed to leave me. No matter if you die. I will find you." Saying this Shu XinYi deeply kissed Xuval.

Xuval was speechless. He had forgotten how to form a sentence. Even after his lips were free to speak, he couldn't say anything. Shu XinYi softly touched his cheek saying "It's enough for me that you understand my words. Don't appear so weak in front of me. I might burn the whole world down, including myself."

Xuval was stunned by Shu XinYi's confession. He could only react with 2 clear streaks of tears, silently rolling down his cheeks. Shu XinYi hugged him, saying softly "Take your time."

Xuval kept hugging him. Shu XinYi had never seen that unidentifiable being show such vulnerability. Li Feng from the 1st world did show insecurity and anxiety through out his life. But Leo and Xiang Li had resolved that anxiety to some extent. Maybe because Xuval spent more than 500 years of his life without him, he became like this. Vulnerable. Hopeless.

Shu XinYi took his time and remained kneeling on the forest floor, hugging his amnesiac husband. Maybe his amnesia too made that unidentifiable being insecure. How could he remember that Shu XinYi had already spent some lifetimes with him, if he lost his memory after every world.

Xuval wasn't crying. He just wanted to be near Shu XinYi. But they had to keep traveling, so they had to move after a while. Still, Xuval refused to let go of XinYi's hands. "You've spoiled me, XinYi. I could never cry. I could never feel pain. I was never weak."

Shu XinYi chuckled knowing these words were from that unidentifiable being, he said "This is still you. Even if you laugh, cry, breakdown. Everything is you. I love everything about you."

Xuval didn't react to his words, only smiled as he suggested "The moon will set soon. We have been on the move for 28 hours. Let's find a place to rest."

Shu XinYi replied "I say we continue walking. We can't even see the mountain peak yet."

Xuval face palmed saying "There is constant darkness on this planet. You can only see the peak once you stand near the mountain. We should rest."

Shu XinYi felt that they should meet Shira soon or they might be too late. So he said "No, let's continue. I want to meet Shira sooner."

Shu XinYi went through the world background once again since he felt like he was missing some thing. He privately asked Snow, "In the original story, Xuval was killed right?"

Snow affirmed with a yes. Shu XinYi asked again "If Xuval died then, Shira should no longer be responsible to hold the planet constantly, right?"

Snow replied "No. She still had to hold up the planet at all times. I can evaluate a reason for why this may be, although it's not mentioned in the world background."

Shu XinYi said "Go on."

Snow evaluated "If originally it was Xuval's overwhelming power that made Shira responsible to hold up the planet, then after Xuval was killed, another overwhelming power must've been born. Hence, Shira still couldn't be freed from an endless slumber."

Shu XinYi too evaluated "Luxin found the cave mine with the key, right? Shira may have had her own reasons to lure Luxin to that ancient cave. But Luxin being the protagonist might've unknowingly survived the trap and became really powerful. He might've become powerful enough to match Xuval. Show me Luxin's PoV."

Snow showed Shu XinYi the two protagonist. The two were also on their way north, with their people. Xuval hadn't given any indication that he was in the north, so why were the protagonist already going to raid the north?

Snow answered Shu XinYi's unasked question "It's Shira. Master, just like your dream that time. Luxin seems to have a same sort of dream. I don't know the contents of the dream. But Luxin informed Eclipse that they should head north with the whole camp."

Shu XinYi thought about it. It was not bad that Luxin's raid headed there before time. Shu XinYi could easily improvise the plan. The plan would remain the same, just that Shu XinYi and Xuval would have to reach before Luxin, and avoid any interruption from them.

The white moon had already set and the planet became more dark then it already was. But with Xuval as his guide, Shu XinYi could easily navigate through the dense forest.

The golden moon shone the brightest of all. Shu XinYi could now clearly see the mountain peak ahead of them. The peak was still far, but they should reach in about 20 hours if they kept up their pace.

"Here. I think Here is alright. This should be very close to the middle of the planet. I will make contact with my kind from here." Xuval said, stopping under a glowing red tree. Shu XinYi asked without much meaning "Are you sure this will work?"

Xuval sat down on a clean stone in a meditative state, as he replied "Yes. It will. Give me 30 minutes." Xuval closed his eyes as he focused. Shu XinYi didn't know how this process of contact worked for Xuval's kind, So he just went to hunt nearby and made camp. Shu XinYi prepared a meal and waited for Xuval to wake up.

Xuval opened his eyes after some time saying, "Done. My people should have gotten the messege by now. I used my old name, so people should've recognized me. I couldn't have achieved this without your help."

Shu XinYi said "Good boy. Now eat." offering him a meal.

Xuval chuckled saying "I am not Xiao B now. You order me so naturally, As if I belong to you."

Shu XinYi looked at him and innocently asked "You don't?"

Xuval dropped the meal aside and softly kissed Shu XinYi. Shu XinYi was even more enthusiastic, as he kissed back. Shu XinYi panted softly after the kiss ended saying with hazy eyes "I want you."

Xuval took him again by his lips, this time with much more desperation. His firm hands gripped Shu XinYi's waist, sliding the fingers through the hem of his shirt. Shu XinYi trembled under this warm touch. He wrapped himself around Xuval, holding he neck as he kissed him. Xuval moved away from Shu XinYi's lips only to leave kisses down his neck. Leaving a trail of soft, red marks.

Xuval said in a firm tone "Sit with your back on that tree." Shu XinYi obediently obliged. Xuval again started to kiss Shu XinYi from his neck, where he left off. The shirt was getting in his way. Xuval lifted Shu XinYi's shirt and swiftly removed it. He continued to trail kisses down Shu XinYi's chest. Xuval hadn't tied up his long hair right now. The sensations left behind by his soft hair on Shu XinYi's skin, were making Shu XinYi tremble.

Xuval was slowly savoring all he could on Shu XinYi's body. He wanted to taste all of it. Shu XinYi was still wearing pants, so Xuval didn't take long to remove them either. A stark naked Shu XinYi, reflected by the moonlight. His body love stained. Xuval took a second to take this view in.

Shu XinYi saw as Xuval, who was also fully naked, swiftly tied his long hair into a bun. His small bangs covering the side of his beautiful face. Xuval then bend down to take Shu XinYi's co*k in his mouth. He also rubbed his fingers to stretch Shu XinYi out. All this foreplay was really testing Shu XinYi's patience "Haa.. Just do it now. Please. XUVAL!" Shu XinYi didn't want to climax alone. Xuval finally sat up as he entered him slowly. Shu XinYi hissed in pleasure, giving Xuval all the more reason to go on.

Lost in the gleaming woods, the two had left behind a meal to directly have the dessert. Habitually or not, the two went at it for 2 hours. It was Xuval who said to Shu XinYi, who was sitting on his lap with Xuval's c*ck still inside him, "XinYi, we should get going."

Despite Xuval's words, Shu XinYi felt Xuval get bigger inside him "Oye. Stop it. Help me get up." Shu XinYi complained.

The both of them washed themselves in a nearby stream and helped to dress each other up. They continued to venture towards the northern peak. "Let's hurry up. Is it okay to fly?" Xuval asked looking far away at the snow caped mountain.

Shu XinYi gave a dramatic look to Xuval, asking in a slightly angry tone "We can fly?"

Xuval looked back at Shu XinYi, giving a smug smile as he side "No, I can fly. In my pheonix form. And... you can ride on me."

Shu XinYi looked offended saying "Why didn't you say before? I thought because of the scar-" Shu XinYi shut his mouth up, thinking he shouldn't say this.

Xuval smiled as he rubbed Shu XinYi's ear, saying "I can't fly in my human form, but I can still take off in my pheonix form. Let's go. We should hurry up."

Shu XinYi silently nodded and made space for Xuval to transform. The forest glowed with Crimson and purple. Under the fountain of golden light, Shu XinYi saw an immensely beautiful pheonix. Standing at the height of 7 meters. It's feathers, hues of Crimson and purple. Like the imperfect harmony of Pure fire and Hell fire. If one looked closely, they would see the feathers were covered in flames. The Crimson feathers were covered in Crimson flames so it was difficult to see the flames at first sight. But if one did see it, they would be terrified of this mutated beast.

Shu XinYi slowly walked forward. He didn't know if it was his imagination, but Xuval seemed shy to his approach. Shu XinYi still kept approaching and raised his hand to pet Xuval. Shu XinYi obviously couldn't reach Xuval's head at his height. He even tip toed, but to no avail. Just as he was about to retract his hand back, Shu XinYi felt the touch of warm, soft feathers. They weren't even remotely harmful to touch. But Xuval just subtly backed off as if he would end up hurting Shu XinYi with his touch.

Unaware of himself, Shu XinYi had a tear silently rolling down his cheek. Shu XinYi didn't wipe it off even after realizing that he was crying. He just said "Let's go. You're right. We should hurry. Also, never ever back off from me again." Shu XinYi then carefully mounted Xuval. He softly held on to his feathers.

The north should be very cold, especially on heights but Shu XinYi was warm. He really didn't like seeing his amnesiac husband so weak. Something inside him breaks, everytime that happens.

Traveling through air was really a convenience. A 20 hour travel was now completed in just 4 hours. Xuval landed near the foothills of the northern peak. Shu XinYi dismounted from his ride and waited for Xuval to transform back. Instead of transforming back, Shu XinYi just felt the blanket like feathers cover his hair. "What are you doing?" Shu XinYi calmly asked. His ears were closed off, so he couldn't even hear his own voice. Shu XinYi somewhat understood.

Although he didn't hear anything, he felt strong vibrations from the earth and from Xuval. Xuval must've made a call to send the low level beast to slumber. It was good that Xuval covered his ears, or he might've gone deaf judging from how strong the vibrations were. If Shu XinYi were a low level beast, he too would want to hide away from this. This is it. Now everything goes down. Shu XinYi thought.

The beast tide should be arriving soon, the protagonist's raid are on their way. Mira's kind has started to gather at the cave. If everything goes well then today, Shu XinYi should be able to complete this world swiftly. There were still many unanswered questions but Shu XinYi wasn't afraid. He could improvise.

Xuval didn't remove his wings from Shu XinYi's ear for a good 5 minutes. Even after he did, Shu XinYi could hear the echos of a pheonix's cry. Xuval then transformed back to his human form. Shu XinYi handed him new clothes. After they were ready Shu XinYi and Xuval set off to find the cave entrance.

According to the map, the entrance was at the south west side. Although searching through the whole South West side would take time, it was better than looking through the whole mountain.

The protagonists should be nearby too, since they had started to travel before them. Shu XinYi and Xuval were both on the look out. If the protagonists traveled with the whole camp, they must have a purpose. "Do you feel it?" Shu XinYi asked looking in a particular direction. He sensed strong energy from that side.

Xuval replied "Let's check it out." Shu XinYi and Xuval swiftly moved towards that direction. They walked for five minutes only to be greeted by more and more trees. One after an other, it was just trees. Shu XinYi kept walking. Shu XinYi felt that something was weird. But everything seemed normal. Shu XinYi still wanted to confirm from Xuval so he looked back to ask, but behind him was just more trees. No sight of Xuval.

Shu XinYi remained calm as he walked back to find Xuval. Shu XinYi couldn't see well as the forest was shrouded in darkness. "Oh no." Shu XinYi softly whispered in realization. The golden moon was reaching it seams, so how could it be even remotely dark? But it was as dark as a moonless night. "What is happening?" Shu XinYi asked Snow.

Snow replied "This may be the entrance to the cave. Only it's not your regular walk in entrance. This may be some kind of trap or illusion. Or both. Breaking this illusion might be the key to entering the cave."

Shu XinYi evaluated "If it only it was as easy as it sounds. Shira required to kill Xuval for her to remove this illusion for Luxin. It can only mean that this illusion might be harder to break than killing Xuval." He sighed thinking of how lucky the protagonist got in the original. Not this time though.

Shu XinYi tried to find his way around, but everywhere was just similar looking trees. No matter where he walked to, Shu XinYi would end up at the same place. Shu XinYi closed his eyes to use the purple moon form. He "Saw" the area around him with the grey fog. The forest still looked dark and gloomy, but Shu XinYi could make out a trail. A faint trail of red and purple energy. Who else could it be if not my amnesiac husband? Shu XinYi thought.

Shu XinYi decide to follow the trail. This time he didn't end up in circles, but was greeted by a new area of the dense forest. Still shrouded in darkness. A change in Scenery. Shu XinYi saw a huge lake in front of him, blocking the way forward. Shu XinYi was about to bend down to see if the water was okay to swim in.

"SPLASH!" Something was thrown into the lake with much pressure. Shu XinYi looked up to see what it was, but there were only the remnant of waves that would soon settle. Shu XinYi decided to wait for something to surface, from a safe distance. 10 minutes passed without anything happening. Shu XinYi was about to turn around to find another path, when again with a huge splash something fell in the water.

This time Shu XinYi clearly saw a human fall from the sky. Shu XinYi looked up to see only darkness. Where that human came from Shu XinYi didn't know. But Shu XinYi thought that he looked a bit like ... Luxin? How can Luxin even be here? Even so, who fell before him? Shu XinYi waited for 10 minutes and sure enough with another splash another body fell in the lake from the sky. This time Shu XinYi clearly saw that it was Luxin who fell. Again.

Shu XinYi waited an other 10 minutes to confirm what was happening and again it was Luxin who fell. Luxin was trapped in a loop in this illusion. Obviously this was not the end for Luxin but this illusion really was hard to break if even Luxin was easily looped in.
