Ryuk

For the first time, I walked out of college in joy. Instead of the gloominess I was accustomed to, my eyes were wide open as I happily walked home.

I tossed my bag on my bed and sat on the chair opposite to the study table.

Kira: "Pass on the death note to Light Yagami."

Ryuk: "Alright."

As soon as Ryuk flew, I knew that I would no longer have the memories I did. Ryuk was gone, however, I still had the source of infinite power in my hand. A page of the death note was still with me. And even after losing my memories, I still had my diary. All I had really lost, was an irritating shinigami that had previously latched himself on me.

I got up from the chair. I then walked outside my room and picked up the newspaper from the dining table to read about the deaths of the two businessmen. I flipped through the pages, to find an article.... What was I doing again? Oh right. I was searching for an article entailing details of Arata Watanabe and Harold Smith. Such jackasses. Whatever they did, didn't deserve an ounce of money in profits. To take a loan of a million dollars each from their fathers to create an empire. Even after that, both of these people didn't support their family after maintaining a good amount of wealth. And here I, was collecting money for my thesis which didn't even amount to one tenth of the money these two possessed.

I looked through the newspaper to find that both of them had died due to a heart attack. Serves them right. I smiled at the odd coincidence. I put the newspaper down, and walked up to the kitchen.
