Death Note : A New Story

What if the 'Death Note' was given to someone other than Light? How would the incidents progress? Would there be havoc and chaos or peace and prosperity? Find out in an alternate story of the franchise 'Death Note'. (Will be on break for quite some time. I walked home. The day was gloomy and dark. On entering the house my mother asked, " How was your day?"

How was my day? Horrible. Pathetic. Another step taken to prevent my demise. Of course I couldn't say this. I replied, "It went great."

I sat at the couch and tossed my bag. I stretched across the table to grab an apple in the fruit basket. Meanwhile, I held the TV remote in the other, surfing through the channels as usual. I watched a bit of sports and trudged abysmally to my room.

I closed the door and sighed, "Huff...another day gone. What a waste. If only I had greater meaning, a better task than just rediscovering God's creations."

I emptied my bag on my bed and laid down on the bed. Grabbing the black book in my hand, I lifted it high above me.

"Death Note. What a joke. I'll see what you're capable of."

I flipped open the first page and read a set of 'rules'.

'The human whose name is written in this note shall die.

This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.

If the cause of death is written within the next 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen.

If the cause of death is not specified, the person will simply die of a heart attack.

After writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.'

It took me a second to find a flaw. If I wrote the details of a death according to my favour, I could be whoever and whatever I wanted to be. I was saddened at the thought that the puzzle was so undemanding. Without hesitation, I wrote my own name, Kira Kaiyo.
