Death Note : A New Story

What if the 'Death Note' was given to someone other than Light? How would the incidents progress? Would there be havoc and chaos or peace and prosperity? Find out in an alternate story of the franchise 'Death Note'. (Will be on break for quite some time. I'll work on this once I complete a few series first.) -------------------------------------------------- Schedule: On Hiatus Chapter Length: 300-800 words -------------------------------------------------- Join discord: https://discord.gg/PjmBUn2 (I'll be putting up announcements here. Alternate Chapter: A Billion, Part 1

(Warning: This chapter is an alternate chapter and does not entail the continuation of the story. This chapter was published just to show where the story line could have potentially changed.)

I woke up lousily just like any other day, and decided to go to college. Today was the day a billionaire would die by my hand.

The first thing I wanted to experiment was whether I could write a name on the death note and burn it. Would the death mentioned on that page still occur?

I tore the page out of the book where I had written Kisaya Tatsu's name, and burned it.

The second thing I wanted to check was whether other people could use the death note if I gave them a page.

I instructed Ryuk to follow Light temporarily and act as if he was the rightful owner of the death note. Ryuk refused to do so, but stated that he would follow Light on the condition that I would follow him as well.

I advanced to college with a blank paper of the death note in my hand. I folded it into a chit and kept it with me. As I walked into the classroom, I passed by Light and placed the chit in his pocket without him noticing.

Light screamed as he fell over, "Ahhhahh!"

He looked at Ryuk and sprinted out of the class in fear. Ever since then, he didn't return. The lecture began and I sat through, knowing Light would experiment on it. Meanwhile, all I had to worry about was a dying billionaire.

I expected the news to come rather soon; either way, I had to wait till tomorrow to hear the news through the media. But instead of being worried about writing names and observing the results, I was worried that I could pass away in a moments notice. If I had X amount of days to live because of some random rule the death note follows, then I couldn't even test it. If I wrote a similar time of death for anyone else, they would die after me since it would take them the same amount of time, X days, but only after writing their name. Of course, this only stood to be meaningful if what Ryuk said was true, but it was bugging my mind endlessly. Not that I cared about my life, it was just that I couldn't bear to die for nothing.

Initially, this was the chapter I had planned to publish, but I decided to change it to approach the situation from a better frame. Nonetheless, enjoy this alternate chapter in an alternate version of the Death note. (Sarcasm intended)

*Kisaya Tatsu- a billionaire whose name was mentioned in the chapter titled, 'The Ones I Kill'.

Next chapter: 3rd April, 2020
