Alfred protocol in effect

"Oh my god! Rhino! Tiger! Rabbit! Turtle! Hedgehog! Cat! Gorilla! Lion! Elephant! Monkey! Beetle! Dinosaur! Watermelon! Banana! Apple! Blueberry! Grey clothes! Robot! Cowboy! Police! Construction worker! Nurse! Doctor! Sir!"

"Stop fighting!"

"Stop, stop!"

Adam squatted beside the ventriloquist, a bemused expression on his face. Wesker, adorned with a stuffed toy on each finger and toe, was engaged in a chaotic battle with himself. The toys surrounding him had joined the fray, their voices adding to the cacophony.

Green smoke wafted from Wesker's bald head, his body trembling like a human speaker. A multitude of sounds erupted from him, his form contorting into a grotesque puppet show.

"Ahhhhh!" Wesker screamed, the battle of the puppets escalating to a physical assault. A bird puppet seemed to have successfully persuaded the other puppets on the other fingers. The five puppets twisted into fists, and the fist of the frame hit Arnold's own eye socket.

"Help! Save me!" he cried out, his voice a desperate plea amidst the chaos.

Adam shook his head, watching the spectacle with a mixture of pity and disgust. Wesker was a lost cause, a psychopath beyond redemption.

In the comics when the ventriloquist had raided the GCPD evidence room he was able to calmly choose the police puppet as his newly born secondary personality because he had the stronger personality Scarface to suppress him. Now, without that dominant force, each new personality was equally strong, vying for control with no clear leader. It was like a computer infected with dozens of viruses, each fighting for dominance, overwhelming the system.

"Ah..." Wesker's cries grew weaker, his body shuddering violently. Adam knew he had to act quickly before the ventriloquist's mind completely fractured.

He walked into the pile of puppets, searching for a specific one. There it was: a plush Batman toy. It was a cartoonish, miniature version of the Dark Knight, complete with a pacifier, diaper, and a cloth utility belt. Adorable, the kind of toy a little girl would cherish.

Adam had also embedded a radio communication module within the Batman plush toy, allowing him to remotely control its voice and manipulate Wesker more easily.

Adam then walked towards the ventriloquist and swiftly removed the puppets from his hands.

Wesker, now stripped of his makeshift identities, clung to Adam's legs, sobbing and smearing snot and tears on his trousers. "Oh god, oh god, what have you done to Rhino, tiger, rabbit, turtle, hedgehog, cat, gorilla, lion..."?" he wailed.

"Get lost!" Adam snarled, roughly stripping Wesker bare, leaving him not a shred of dignity. He piled the discarded puppets onto the naked man, then produced a lighter.

"No! No!" Wesker struggled violently, but Adam held him down with a knee to his ribs, then ignited the plush toys.

Whoosh! The flames roared to life, quickly engulfing the flammable material. Even the puppets that Wesker hadn't yet adopted as personalities were consumed by the inferno. Adam, thorough in his approach, lit the remaining toys in his bag as well.

"No..." Arnold collapsed to the ground helplessly. He was naked now, and even if he wanted to take off his underwear and put it on his hands to create a new personality, he couldn't do it.

"Arnold? Arnold?" Adam prodded, but there was no response. The ventriloquist had regressed into a sobbing, self-flagellating infant.

"Take me away! Take me away!" he bawled, nearly throwing himself into the flames if Adam hadn't restrained him.

Satisfied with Wesker's broken state, Adam retrieved a small vial from his utility belt and sprayed a cloud of mist into the man's face.

"Cough... cough... ah..." Wesker sputtered, the mist taking effect.

Wesker howled, the sound so raw and guttural that Adam worried he might vomit up his own larynx. Though the specifics were unclear, Adam imagined Wesker's world consumed by flames.

The fire, the looming presence of Batman, the terror of losing his protector personalities, and the fear toxin—all simmered together into a cauldron of pure terror.

The recipe was perfect.

"This," Adam said, holding up the miniature Batman, "this is your only friend now." He placed it in Wesker's limp hand. "It will be my eyes and ears, ensuring you obey me."

"Don't leave it! Don't throw it away!" Wesker pleaded. "He won't let you kill like Scarface did. He'll make you listen to me. He won't hurt you! I won't hurt you! This is for your own good!"

Adam roared into Wesker's face, the sound waves and spittle bombarding the man's senses, driving home the psychological shock.

A single tear trickled down Wesker's cheek as he clutched the Batman toy. Then... silence.

Had he broken him? Adam slapped Wesker's face twice. "Talk! Smile!"

Wesker remained unresponsive.

"Arnold, don't be afraid," a deep voice, reminiscent of Batman's, emanated from the puppet. "As long as you listen to Batman, you'll be safe."

A grin spread across Adam's face. Success.

"Remember, from today on, you're Batman's dog!"

"Woof!"

Adam paused. Something wasn't right. But he brushed it aside as silver-white text filled his vision.

[Obtained: Ventriloquist's Personality Destruction Tears]

[Description: Tears shed upon the complete collapse of the Ventriloquist's secondary personalities. Only the truly immoral can obtain them through brutal means. May be used to summon a Batman from a parallel universe.]

[But can a being summoned through such immorality truly be a force for good?]

["Yes, you got him. But you've lost your morals."]

["Was it all worth it?"]

Adam stared at his hand, the tear drying.
