Beast Encounter and Cores

Thinking about the beasts and cultivators at the Spirit Illumination realms and above made his skin crawl.

Such power was above him and he didn't know how long it would take him to achieve those realms.

The knowledge in his head stated, "The higher the realm, the longer the breakthrough."

It wouldn't go without saying that Sumer, even with his perfected body, would have such difficulties in the much higher cultivation realms.

As a knowledgeable astronaut in his past life, Sumer could say that he was well-versed in all five aspects of civilization: engineering, economic studies, earth sciences, healthcare science, and agriculture.

Those particular aspects took a long time to bear fruit. As such, how could those high-level cultivators have time to care about their comfortability and livelihood when they are busy trying to attain the fabled "immortality"?

Those five aspects allowed humanity to progress forward smoothly with minor hiccups along the way.

Despite this being a cultivation world, they were quite lacking in conventional technology.

Sumer would have to improve the lacking aspects this humanity has while simultaneously fighting back against the other races.

Only when the common amenities are abundant throughout the continents, would the livelihood of the common folk be improved. If that happens, more talents could be born and discovered faster.

To do that, Sumer would need strength. In this world, cultivation is what determines what a person can and can't do.

If you have no strength, sit the f*ck down!!

Without that, just roll over on a sword. Your suffering would be gone.

With those thoughts in his mind, Sumer ventures further away from the inner region border and towards the middle section of the outer region.

Due to the intervention of Long Caihong setting up a sort of 10km deterrence barrier in all directions during her reconstruction of Sumer's body, no beasts could be found within his venture.

After about 15 minutes of running at full speed, which was approximately 80mph, Sumer crossed the line between the deterrent barrier and the rest of the forest.

He keeps moving along.

Not even a minute goes by when a beast at the 4th level of Innate Realm nimbly jumps down from a tree.

The beast resembles the jaguars of Sumer's old world with a slight difference… it was at least 3 times the size and claws that glowed a gray light.

It takes nothing but a second for the beast to assess Sumer's aura to know that he is a newly awakened Innate ranker.

With a beastly growl, it pounces at Sumer.

To its surprise, Sumer doesn't run away like its prey usually does. He just stands there with his eyes aglow white.

That's unscientific!!

With a swipe of his hand, Sumer simply slaps the beast. The force of which makes it smash through 9 trees before cracking the tenth and falling to the forest ground below.

'Based on the information in my head, this beast should be at the 2 or 3rd stage of the Innate. However, I just b*tch slapped it 50ft away. I must be at the late stage of the Innate Realm at least. This body is too strong!'

Seeing the results of his breakthrough, Sumer is shocked to see that he was able to send the beast flying just with a half-assed slap.

In the cultivation world's realms, each realm is divided into 10 sub-levels; 10 is the highest level.

The 10 are then divided into four bigger sub-levels which are early-stage, middle-stage, late-stage, and peak-stage.

The early stage is categorized into levels 1-3. The middle stage is 4-6. Late-stage is 7-9. Lastly, the peak of any realm is level 10.

The power gap between each realm is quite big as it's a difference in tons. Beings of late-stage Innate Realm display an average strength of about 6-8 tons.

A middle-stage beast attacking a cultivator with the strength of a late-stage Innate Realm was suicidal.

Consequently, it was only right for it to get REKT.

The beast struggles to get up from the ground. Its jaw sags while blood flows from its mouth with a few missing teeth.

It trembles when it hears Sumer's heavy footsteps. The instinct urging it to run was so strong that the beast began crawling. It no longer dared to fight Sumer.

It now knew that Sumer was a human that hid his power. All to release it on an unsuspecting opponent. Sumer was akin to a tiger pretending to be a sheep.

This thing was too unscientific for the beast to understand.

Sumer sees the tiger crawling and begins to feel bad for it. He has never killed anything before. He even owned a cat who'd passed away three years before his transmigration.

Though the mutated beast would have killed him had he been weaker, Sumer could not bring himself to do it.

Sensing his hesitation, the green tattoo on his finger lights up. A cooling sensation began to soothe his brain and calm resolve overtook Sumer's being.

Memories of the previous Sumer's struggles and perils of being weak and talentless which resulted in him being bullied by others appeared in flashes in the current Sumer's line of vision.

[Just die, trash.]

[You will never become anything. You're worthless.]

[So, this is where you were hiding. Crying in the barn? Hugging the horse? You damn vermin. Prepare yourself, langfei.]

Those were some of the things the previous Sumer had been told. That last line resulted in him being beaten to unconsciousness by a distant cousin who coveted his position as the heir of No-Va.

From that moment onward, Sumer hated himself for being unable to defend or speak up for himself.

[IF ONLY I HAD THE STRENGTH. I WOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE THE WORLD BEND TO MY WILL. A WORLD WHERE NO ONE BULLIES OTHERS BECAUSE THEY'RE USELESS. A WORLD… without wars. Sigh.]

Even if he had spoken up for himself, what good would it have done?

He would've gotten beaten up for talking a bunch of rubbish that he could not back up.

Though the current Sumer could not feel the emotions behind those scenes, his heart went out to the previous Sumer.

'Such a pitiful boy. A kind heart in a cruel world. You would have done well on Earth. I'll make sure to avenge you. The dream world you wanted… that's gonna be one hell of a thing to achieve. One that I'm not sure can exist.'

The shining green light emitting from the tattoo on his finger dims to a jade-like green.

The Ring of Will helped Sumer strengthen his resolve. If he had been in a battle with a person, his hesitation could have potentially gotten him killed.

Amid the green mask encircling his eyes, a crimson light emerges from them. The surrounding area heats up by 3°F.

Two beams of light shoot out from Sumer's eyes as they bend at angular points and strike the huge Jaguar beast dead in the back.

It immediately turned to dust. Nothing of it was left except a glowing spherical object the size of a marble.

'Huh? What's this?'

As if in response, two words appeared above the object: Beast Core.

More lines of information in the things written about cultivation popped into view. It was an excerpt on beast cores.

"The Beast Core is effectively the same as the Core gained in the dantian during the Crystallization stage of living humanoids. However, it starts much smaller and barely has any Qi.

Beasts only need to eat enough Qi from monsters or plants to evolve the core into the size or slightly that is around a human's dantian depending on the variety of the beast. Large Beasts, such as the Direwolf need to acquire more Qi to support its large body.

Beasts can also actively cultivate Qi into the core to speed up the process. However, most are still not intelligent enough or do not have the knowledge to do so.

The Beast Core will automatically take in Qi when a beast eats another beast that has Qi. It can devour the other's core and gain from it.

The Beast Core also automatically develops Acupoints in the beast's body in a random pattern. It may not be as effective as a human that is specializing in certain acupoints but it does get the job done.

These cores can also be used when crafting spirit weapons or when as alchemy ingredients."

"OH MY!!"

Sumer exclaimed. He doesn't remember Beast Cores being in any of the cultivation books he's read.

This was something new that he hadn't read about and he was curious about the other secrets this world had in store.

These cores would be very useful to other cultivators but are pretty useless to him right now. Sumer has the Omega Effect as his source of power and cultivation.

What good is genuine energy when he has unlimited energy? Sumer could just give it to a subordinate when he acquires one.

"It's time for my…

Training Arc!"
