Murder Files: A Detective's Journey
Prologue:
Detective Alex Hayes stood alone on the rain-soaked street, the flashing lights of the police cruisers illuminating the darkness around him. It was past midnight, and the city was eerily quiet, save for the distant wail of sirens and the soft patter of rain against the pavement.
Hayes had been on the force for over a decade, but tonight felt different. There was a tension in the air, a sense of foreboding that made his skin crawl. He knew that this case would be unlike any he had ever faced before.
As he approached the crime scene, Hayes took a deep breath, steeling himself for what lay ahead. The victim was a young woman, her lifeless body sprawled out on the sidewalk, a pool of blood seeping into the cracks between the cobblestones.
It was a scene straight out of a nightmare, but Hayes had seen worse. He knelt down beside the body, his hands trembling as he searched for any clues that might lead him to the killer.
But as he looked into the woman's lifeless eyes, Hayes felt a chill run down his spine. There was something about this murder that felt...different. Something that told him this was just the beginning.
And as he stood up to face the gathering storm, Hayes knew that he was about to embark on a journey that would test him to his very core.
This is where his story begins.
