Mannerless

Rising Phoenix Manor

The emperor and his entourage had just arrived at the manor, he had brought with him two imperial carriages and a few thousand imperial guards.

The first emissary wasn't expecting this, the chief eunuch descended from the imperial carriage first, followed my the emperor and a middle aged beautiful woman.

The emperor slowly held the hands of the woman as he guided her carefully in her descend from the carriage.

The beautiful kind looking middle aged lady was actually the empress of the empire.

The first emissary went on his knees and bow as he saw the two come out of their carriage.

"Greetings to your majesties!" The guards in the surrounding also took to their knees and followed suit.

The emperor was quite surprised, he had prepared to be disrespected here, but that didn't seem like the case.

In his first encounter with the first emissary, this arrogant general wasn't even willing to get off his horse to greet him, what a three sixty turn! The emperor thought.

"What brings your majesties here at this late hour? If your majesty wants anything or command for us, all he has to do is just summon us, and we'll be there" The first emissary said carefully.

"Where's the Prince, why isn't he here to receive his majesty!" The old chief eunuch said in displeasure.

At this time Liu Feifei arrived at the entrance to greet the emperor, the emperor nodded and gestured her to rise.

"Where's the prince Of The North?" This time the emperor asked.

The first emissary was totally clueless as to where Gu Shang was, fortunately for him, Liu Feifei was around, so he would just let her deal with it.

"Your majesty, the Prince just left a while ago to visit the Spring Autumn, he should be returning very soon" Liu Feifei said with a bow.

"What's taking him so long then, can't he see the trouble his causing with the mobilization order so bright in the sky?" The emperor asked with a frown.

At the entrance of the manor, a beautiful woman on a dragon horses suddenly entered with a few injured man, it was the Third emissary.

"I was the one who fired the mobilization order!" She announced to the first emissary.

"What! Why?" The remaining emissaries questioned her. Mobilizing troops was a very serious matter.

They all frowned.

"You guys don't need to look at me like that, it was eldest brother command " she said rolling her eyes.

"Then where's he??" The chief eunuch impatiently asked.

"And who are you supposed to be!?" The third emissary fired back with her eyes narrowed.

This old thing dared to raise his stinky voice at her, he must be tired of living!"

She glanced around to see the emperor and and empress along with their entourage.

"Brother, who are this strangers?" She asked curiously.

"Third sister where are your manners, this the emperor and empress, that old thing there it's with them" the first emissary replied emotionless.

The chief eunuch almost fainted after hearing that.

The third emissary still stared straight into the emperor entourage, she didn't look like she was going to bow anytime soon.

The first emissary gently grabbed her by the back of her head, and pushed it dowards, "Your majesty, please forgive the third emissary, she's a bit eccentric!" He said.

"Where's the General?" The first emissary asked.

"The third emissary expression finally turned serious. There was an assassination attempt on him this night, luckyly for us, eldest brother was able to neutralize the attack and it's now giving chase to the assassin.

Before he left, he told me to prep the troops for battle.

"How strong was the assassin?" The second emissary asked.

"The assassin is probably at the immortal king realm" the third emissary said.

All those gathered there couldn't help but gasp in shock.

Just who did Gu Shang offend for such a powerful expert to be deployed to end his life.

The emperor and chief eunuch couldn't help but immediately look at each other,

Could it be that the assassin was here for Gu Shang instead....

"Then, the explosion that happened a few moments ago certainly had something to do with the general and that assassin!" The fourth emissary suddenly spoke causing the place to fall into silence again.

Indeed, Gu Shang must be fighting a deadly battle with that immortal king assassin, they couldn't help but worry a little because, the explosion that happened a few moments ago was no joking matter, but of course Gu Shang was Gu Shang. There was no need to worry.

The emperor had mixed emotions actually, though he hated Gu Shang guts, he still hoped he'll survive with his life.

Liu Feifei on the other hand was worried sick about Gu Shang, she too had seen the lights and knew that Gu Shang was facing a very powerful opponent, so if it was really them, then .... unlike the emissaries who were completely convinced that Gu Shang could escape unscathed because they knew how strong he was.

Liu Feifei couldn't do same since she knew so less about her husband, she didn't want her last memory of Gu Shang to be the two of them arguing.

At this point all she could do was pray for Gu Shang safe return.

Meanwhile in the second imperial carriage that was brought, no one was yet to align from it, this carriage belonged to the imperial princess of the immortal empire[Gu Shang soon to be bride].

Just then a figure in white landed from the sky, causing everyone to be on guard, only the emissaries went on their knees.

When the dust cleared, they could all see Gu Shang displeased expression.

Gu Shang ignored everyone around him, "Emissaries heed my command!" he ordered as he shot white beams of light into the minds of the eight emissaries.

"These are all the locations of branches of the legion of assassins spread through our the realm, including their safe houses and headquarters, head to this locations and annihilate them all, leave no survivors!

This locations can be mostly found in low tier kingdoms and empires so for those empires, it would be relatively easy to enter their boarders. As for those in the middle and high tier empires, take my command with you, If they refuse to let you into their borders to hunts down the assassins...." Gu Shang paused for a while,

"You are permitted to use force if necessary, the Dragon Claw and Lion Fang trooops would be at your disposal, that is if you face resistance!!" Gu Shang ordered with an authoritative voice.

"Also send my command to the 55th Squadron of the Dragon Claw guards to rendezvou with me at the southern boarder, I'll personally lead them!" Gu Shang said coldly.

The emissaries and commanders couldn't help but sweat coldly. The Dragon Claw guards were the strongest army under Gu Shang, they almost were never ordered into action, but when they were it was always an extinction level event.

Whoever had the Grand General personally leading a squadron, was as good as finished.

The emissaries received their orders and all got up and left, splitting the Purple Qilin Cavalry into eight groups as they galloped away in eight separate directions all carrying out Gu Shang's command.

Gu Shang thought of something for a while, with the Purple Qilin Cavalry gone, the capital was defenseless. He couldn't let that be.

Gu Shang looked at Liu Feifei, "Lock down the capital, no one is allowed to enter or leave the city!" Gu Shang ordered Liu Feifei with a serious tone.

"Station the 47th Squadron of the Dragon Claw guards near the capital, and inform them to be ready to back the capital guards in case of any emergency!" The quasi immortal king in the rising Phoenix Manor suddenly appeared next to Gu Shang, Gu Shang handed him a command token which could only be used to control the Dragon Claw guards.

The moment he received it, he disappeared again.

Liu Feifei also bowed and got on her horse, before taking one last look at Gu Shang, at this moment in time, he wasn't given commands as a husband, but as her superior.

Gu Shang finally turned to look at the emperor and empress before clasping his hands, "Forgive me for my lack of manners, but I can't entertain you now because there is something I have to personally see to. I promise I'll head to the palace to offer her majesty an apology , I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience!"

Gu Shang also turned to the second carriage and clasped his hands before shooting off into the clouds and disappearing.

"Only the empress??" The emperor said in a displeased voice.

"That mannerless brat!" The emperor muttered beneath his breath.

The empress could not help but cover her mouth, chuckling.

This son-in-law of hers was a very interesting kid.
