Hello and Goodbye Part 2

This was it today was the day. Night had fallen since I last spoke with Gregory and now we were saying our last good-byes. We were inside a storage building by the waters. If someone inspected this building they would find nothing special about it unless they managed to find access to it's underground sector that is where we were.

Gregory took me here through a series of complex passageways built throughout a section of the city. These passageways were made under the cities nose because they were made in conjecture with any updates to the City's infrastructure.

This was possible because Gregory owned a large number of construction companies. Companies that are contracted by the government to do many of the repairs throughout it. In addition to this Gregory also owns a steel mill that basically contributes to most of the steel used throughout the city.

This spot that Gregory took me to was a secret housing location used to store a submarine that Gregory had been using to smuggle all kinds of illegal goods into the country. It gave me a headache finding out about this place because it just showed how busy Gregory truly has been. It also warms my heart knowing that I will not have to deal with any of the fallout that comes with all the illegal trafficking Gregory does consistently.

The submarine was being prepared by a few of Gregory's men. They loaded in cargo that was needed for the trip. This cargo was just the regular stuff like food, water, and any of the other supplies needed. There were also all kinds of guns, explosives, drugs, and other such items. But Gregory prioritize my safe travel over meager profits. The word meager being a subjective term because of the amount of illegal contraband in this Warehouse alone could net a few million Skrill easy.

As the last touches were being done on the submarine I was inspecting some of the items Gregory had. I figured since I was most likely going to be in constant danger my brother wouldn't want me to be undefended. Me being a legacy holder or not I still needed to be well equipped to handle what's to come.

With that being the case I helped myself to what took my fancy. I skipped over anything that's was too flashy, too expensive, or too unwieldy. That's because I did not want to garner any more attention to myself then needed. After a bit of inspecting I found a few suitable items. The items I chose was a combat knife, a master crafted cutlass that wasn't anything too fancy and appear to be sturdy enough to withstand my incredible grip strength without breaking. I also took a pair of black waterproof leather gloves because I was increasingly figuring out the exurbanite amount of things made of iron in the world. Every time my skin grazed the wrong object it would burn as though I have touched fire. To combat this I took note that's my wardrobe shell for now and evermore be a variety of long sleeve shirts and long length pants with gloves. In order to minimize skin contact with metal as much as possible.

As for armor I took none of that because it was useless for me. During my time spent in my room I did a bit more experimenting there I found that's my skin was much tougher than normal. This made it so that even a sharp blade won't cut me unless someone uses an extraordinary amount of force. in addition to that I had my scales that I could summon at anytime. This gave me an extra layer of protection that's no one else possessed. This armor was hidden from view and didn't hinder my movements at all it was the perfect thing for me.

The guns that Gregory had were many. He have basically had every kind of variety a person could ask for from single shot, fully automatic, railguns, even a few arc guns. He had sniper rifles, rocket launchers, and, oh. I didn't expect to see this here because Gregory also had plastic explosives. Now indeed my current need for explosives were nonexistent but I would much rather be a man with explosives then without.

So, needless to say I took a few as for taking a gun Gregory didn't have anything that really suited my fancy. I prefer the more classical Firearms then the modern steam varieties that most others use. But I was no fool though I could launch my blood at someone like a gun over usage of my ability was not smart. So though it's pained me to have to use one I took a steam pistol just in case things got dicey.

Aside from those things Gregory did not have anything else I could actively carry with me on to the submarine. Nor did he have all the necessary supplies I needed to immediately start my voyage. I was going on a journey across the world so I needed a ship, a capable crew with a wide skill range, and a lot more other stuff that I was going to have to give on the way.

As I equipped myself Gregory exited the submarine. After doing so he walked towards me while holding an old and shawty looking briefcase. I never saw this briefcase before but he handed it to me nonetheless.

"Here these are all the identification documents that you will most likely need to enter most ports, along with your identification papers, and a whole bunch of other things. Also just so you know this briefcase is special it may look like its about to fall apart but its actually very sturdy and hard to get open unless you know how. You could take a blowtorch to this thing or just attach a magnesium bomb to it but I assure you it still wont break. In addition to that the suitcase also comes with a tracker that I urge you to keep on you at all times".

I took the briefcase from Gregory the thick briefcase was a lot heavier than I initially thought making me wonder what kind of things he put in there. Opening the briefcase I indeed saw the legal papers that Gregory said he put in there along with my weight in gold. There was at least a hundred thousand Skrill worth of gold coins. The money was mostly in gold coins but there was also paper currency mixed in but in a much smaller denomination.

Before I said anything Gregory said, "Before you say no just listen. You are a wanted man Greg I know you can fight better than anyone but the being able to fight is not enough. You're going to need money to get through the numerous hurdles that lie before you.

You will not be able to convince men to join your crew with words alone. People will betray you, they will lie to you, they will sell you out for money even if you already paid them, that's just how people are and that's just how things work. To make people join the crew of a wanted man and known spy will take a lot of convincing that's more than that money.

Money that's may take years even with your skill set to acquire. Which will slow down your adventure considerably for how long well I wonder how long do you really have. 100 years, 50 years, 10 years, or maybe is it just one because no one knows when the madness will set in or when it will take over it's just does.

You can be brave and headstrong all you want out there. But in here, right now you will listen to me and you we'll take this money. Not as an investment but as a gift from your brother in hopes of a better life then the one lived for you. So are you going to make this difficult for me brother or are you just going to take the goddamn money?".

After Gregory spoke I could not really refuse his words because he was 100% accurate. Rushing in screaming asking random people to join my crew to set sail on an adventure to who knows where with Untold dangers that none of them may even survive from was a lot. Because even if I do find a crew I may find nothing. I may also find something but it would take years of effort to excavate and acquire any sort of actual gain from it. I'm willing to do it not for the money but the adventure, but what about everyone else what is there to gain from them. At least with money they have some assurance to support their family and live a life full even in the likely case of crippling injury.

Out there I won't just be facing the forces of the elements I'll be facing the government, my own nation, every other nation, pirates, bounty hunter, and so much more. I am willing to do this and more to find what secrets lie out there, but I cannot say with confidence the same for others.

I looked into Gregory's stern eyes and with a look of defeat, I accepted. I did not truly wish to accept this money but it is not for me it is for those willing the join me on this adventure. Those brave few willing to travel where few have ever gone and ever returned from. Those brave few souls I will seek them out and make them a part of my crew.

Gregory smiled happily and grabbed my shoulders as he brought me in for a hug. I could tell he was holding back tears as he let me go.

" I wish you safe travels on your adventure brother. May the world know of your accomplishments and may your story be written of in the stars with all the other legends that you will walk among".

"And thank you for believing in me, saving me, and your support. For this I swear I shall make our family name unforgettable".

"I hope you do brother"

With those words said I entered the submarine ready to show the world who I was. I will become the greatest adventurer and nothing will stand in my way.
