Chapter 4: Unwanted Guest

"Out of the blue, my cursed jewel, is back."

A sweet curve never leaves Sashal's lips. Her face is filled with the radiance of joy. She cannot hide her happiness since last night. Her excitement to beautify their "new-found home" surpasses her fear to be tracked by King Frister.

"We feel like humans, might as well live like one!" she chants the entire morning.

"You really have a very good morning," Morgan notices as he takes his seat and blows on his black coffee before having a sip.

Olivius agrees. He nods.

He thinks Sashal is right. Now that they can't eat human souls and desires, they may try living to be a human. Just for the mean time. Just as long as there is a must to hold their powers.

Ah! Reminiscence comes in sweet and bitter taste. Maybe, a bittersweet memory when they collect black balls from corrupt emperors, from filthy whores that comes around selling their soul in exchange for temporary riches, from adults that desires success in an instant and discontented of their possessions. Those were the times they're filled with so much energy to spread darkness and extend their powers and strength. Those were the moments they feel superior knowing that their backs had Levi.

"What happens if King Frister finds us?"

Olivius doesn't have any intention to spoil the moment, Sashal's moment specifically, but he accidentally spill the question that keeps on flickering in his mind.

Sashal stops chanting, Morgan's cup of coffee stops mid-air-- inches away from his lips, and Levi slowly opens her eyes. It is as if a big realization slap their faces. It is as if they are woken into reality, facing harsh circumstances. Facing the weakest part of their lives.

"Then we'll kill him," Levi said casually. She really doesn't believe in what she said. If she could. But for now, she needs the three of them to be calm despite the danger coming their way. That's the only way for them to not be in panic and make stupid conclusions.

"Hurry up and we need to search for the human slave," she added before rising up and heads to the front door.

The three of them stare at Levi's back as she heads toward the front door. Her every steps are light but her aura definitely spills danger all over her body.

Sashal suddenly feels gloom as if the little ray of sunshine vanishes in her world, and all that's left is a pitch dark with her fear.

Suddenly, they are caught off guard the moment Levi opens the door. She suddenly flinches as a body of a man falls on her arms--the body of an unknown man. The three of them instantly come to the rescue. And Levi pushes the body away from her, making him fall to the ground in supine position and create a loud thud.

"You okay, Levi?" Sashal asks.

Levi nods. Her stoical face hides the things going on inside her mind yet she cannot stop contending how couldn't she detect that demon's presence. She can even detect King Frister's presence within 10 kilometer radius but with this guy, she failed.

Morgan kicks the body to reveal his face. And to their surprise, it is Giovanni, one of King Frister's royal guard captain.

"Kill him," Levi demanded in an instant, without any trace of guilt or of mercy.

After all, demons are wicked. No riches could ever trade their mercy. And Levi is the Princess of the Demons, one of the people with purest wickedness running through her veins.

"What the heck are you guys just about to do?!"

a man looks so surprised, not deciphering what exactly is going on.

Great! Another trouble. Levi must be too weak to detect two presence at once. And this man was the coward whose heart is filled with love and compassion. Now, they have to dispose two bodies all at once.

"I'm calling the police!" the human's hands are trembling as he dials something in his phone.

Levi, without any hint of what he is doing, stares at him and control his mind.

The man stops dialing.

His cellphone slips away from his hands.

His eyes become emotionless.

His face becomes blank.

His body becomes stiff.

Levi does not have enough strength to make the man forget all that happened in this place. Just using a little amount of her power really drains her energy. As long as possible, she can't use it.

Olivius and Morgan carry Giovanni's body inside the mansion and tie him up. Like them, Giovanni isn't in his full powers yet.

"Walk inside," Levi commands the "Coward Man" in his hypnotic state.

_______________

Harvey isn't sure if the track he's taking is the correct one. But his google map says so. So better trust the expert.

He continues walking in a path that seems less traveled by the people. He keeps on looking around and he starts to feel afraid. It's starting to become eerie in his every step forward. He seems to be entering a dark forest and he has no idea what's on the other end.

"I shouldn't have traveled alone. I should've asked Sean to accompany me," he murmurs to himself. But it's too late to go back home.

Everything doesn't feels right but he needs to find the Healer of Hiraya, the one who can help Trisha protect her child. From who? No. That is not the question. Harvey believes that Trish is still living in the traditional way and she keeps on bugging him to find the healer and ask for a magical stone. A magical stone that will protect her child in any diseases. Maybe.

Harvey's eyes are too focused to the google map on his phone. Another few steps and he stumbles.

He curses to himself and stare back at the root of a big mango tree. He is too occupied staring at his phone (securing the right road) that he doesn't noticed the root.

He needs to manage his temper even though he's tempted to scream his frustrations on the top of his lungs. He is the most unfortunate person God ever created. If He has a favorite,Harvey must be the least. Oh, no. Scratch that! He doesn't even on the list of His favorite.

One coo of the black crow is all it takes for Harvey to realize something. When he raises his head to see the hideous creature, a huge mansion sticks in his sight.

It is obviously so old that it builds creepiness and eeriness as a barrier to those trespassers. His feet stick to the ground; unable to move, unable to make a step. His eyes wanders at the entirety of the mansion. The roofs are pointed, like those of Dracula's home. The walls are almost cover with moss. The grasses on the yard grows lush as if they are abundant in nutrients that they need. Vines are crawling up the metal gate, covering almost half of it. They are the signs that this mansion has been abandoned for years yet that is not the issue in here.

In front of the door, down the 4 people's feet, there lies an unconscious man. What's more sinister is when a lady, the fiercest lady that Harvey's eyes had laid upon, commanded to kill him, without any hint of doubt, or any hint of emotion. Just a plain, cold 'kill him'.

He interferes.

His conscience tells him to.

He should act to save that man.

He should say something.

Just like that, bravery found its way to Harvey's body. He runs as he focuses his eyes on the unconscious man that is on the verge of dying.

He enters the gate without permission. He enters the gate without any weapon.

And there he stood brave. But obviously failed. There is a force that manipulates his mind. His subconscious is gone.

He can't move.

He can't scream.

He can't even blink.

But then, his eyes clearly see the woman behind all this crime. The same woman that his eyes took a glimpse a week ago, when the dead body was found. Harvey knew back then that there's something bizarre in this woman. Something, he can't name.

His mind becomes blank.
