Working Hard, Cupid?

[Seoul, Korea]

There was a small square building sitting near a bunch of taller buildings downtown, with the name "Cupid's Rekindling Services". The sign on the front was beat up and worn out, and the area around it was run down.

Inside of it, was messy, with a bed leaned up on the side, a couch on the other side of the wall, a TV sitting up on a dresser, and a desk at the other end.

Sitting at the desk, was a woman, and on other side of the desk in the main chair, was Cupid. In this world, he was 20 years old, with blonde golden wavy hair in a ponytail with bangs on the side and front, and hazel eyes. He was wearing his pink Cupid pajamas as well, with his feet up on the desk, eating a chocolate bar.

The woman in front of him, her name was Cheon-Bae, she had long black hair, with brown eyes.

She continued, "…He's been like this everyday. Always coming home from work stressed out, yelling at me for little things, or if I didn't cook enough, or if I didn't wash every single piece of his clothes. I feel like the love is fading, and it depletes every day. That's why I need your services, I found this place due to an ad on Breezers, and I rushed to it right away-…ARE YOU EVEN LISTENTING TO ME?!"

Cupid was snoring, then he woke up, saying, "Huh? Who are you again?"

"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"

"Relax…I'm kidding."

Cupid stands out of his chair, and started stretching with his arms stretched out, then started to yawn. He scratched his ass, and said, "Alright. Let's go. Ya pay me after."

"Oh..okay. How much do i pay?"

"Dunno. Depends on how much hard work I have to do."

Cheon-Bae thought, 'How sluggish can he be? Was this a good choice?'

She asked Cupid, "May I ask, how you are going to do this? Are you going to talk sense into him? Because on the ad, it said love will be rekindled instantly. Unless, I'm going crazy and I'm actually going along with a pyramid scheme con-artist."

Cupid sighed, "Uh, what? The way I do things are far beyond your human skull. So like, stop being a baby."

"I'M NOT."

"Yes you are. Crybaby."

"Tch. What's your name at least?"

"Cupid. Can't ya read?"

"No I mean your real name."

"C-U-P-I-D. Cupid. Sorry my names not like yours."

"I-I didn't mean it like that-!"

"That'll be an extra couple of won because of your disrespect."

"CON ARTIST!"

"How many times are ya gonna say that? That hurts my love seeking heart. You should be ashamed. Gonna go cry instead of save your marriage."

"NO! I'M SORRY!"

"Sure. Just let me get dressed."

"Get dressed…?"

Cupid walked towards his bed, and he put on pink slippers with hearts on them.

Then he said, "Yes. Good to go!"

Cheon-Bae thinks, 'All he did was put on very suspicious and questionable slippers on, and he's all dressed?! Yeah, I'm regretting every second of this.'

Cupid stretched again, and asked Cheon-Bae, "Mind tellin' me where ya' husband works?"

"The uh, graphic designers poster building downtown-."

"Yawnnnn. I know where that's at."

"I sent you a picture of my husband as well, just so you know what he looks like-."

Cupid teleported behind Cheon-Bae, and hit her in the back of the neck with the side of his hand, knocking her out. She fell into his arms, and he placed her on the couch, saying, "Be right back. If you wake up before I finish, don't go in the fridge. I got heart shaped pizzas in there."

Cupid walked out of the small building, and closed the door. He started his to walk down the sidewalk, walking past the beeping cars, pedestrians, workers, and restaurants and other establishments.

He heard the chatter among them, hearing them be happy with one another, hearing some of them be all in love with each other:

"You look beautiful today, as always."

"Will you…marry me?!"

"Of course I will!"

Cupid twitched at the sound of their love, covering his ears, saying, "La la la la la la la la!"

'I'm literally Cupid, a guy with overpowered abilities and a heart to help others fix their love for one another. Why do I abhor hearing others be in love? BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND IT MYSELF! It's not like I can use my arrows to make people fall in love with me, it doesn't work like that. And even if I could do it, I wouldn't. I want it to be natural and shit. WHY WON'T ANYONE TAKE ME? It's not like I'm ugly or anything. And I'm even strong as hell. So what's the issue? Am I cursed? I can easily help others fix their relationships, but I can't even get in one?'

Cupid walked past billboards of idols, singers, actors, sports players, and other famous people.

Cupid saw these, thinking, 'Aww they look so happy-who gives a fuck? Okay, I do. But like, I wanna experience it.'

The building was pretty tall, it was a white building with at least 5 stories to it.

Cupid looked up at it, and he was eating another chocolate bar, saying, "Yep, that bastard is here."

He took another step forward, thinking, 'The Dark energy…lingers heavily. It's gonna get heavier when I walk inside.'

There were office workers coming out of the building, walking past Cupid, saying to each other:

"What a long day."

"Finally we're getting off."

"Boss was on our ass heavy."

"He's annoying as hell."

"He's forcing overtime on us, I can't keep this up. I have a family I need to tend to. I'm a single man. I need my rest as well."

"Ain't that the damn truth. My sleep schedule is fucked."

Cupid thought, 'Like that annoying woman said earlier, the boss is the core reason why these workers are stressed. And the dark energy that's lingering here..is the embodiment of the negative energy that surrounds him and this entire workplace. And the only way to handle that, is to destroy the embodiment itself.'

Cupid walked into the offfice, and was greeted by a lady who sat the receptionist desk.

She excliamed happily, "Hi! How are yo-."

"Yo, where's your boss?"

"Um…what can I help you with? Ho-Seok is extremely busy at the moment-."

"Yawn. Don't care, to be honest. Where is he? This is a matter of love on the line."

"Love?"

"…Alright. I'll find him myself."

Cupid started walking through another door, and the lady yelled, "Excuse me, Sir! Security!"

Cupid walked through a set of double doors, and security was running towards him, yelling:

"Stop right there!"

"Eh? He's a brat?"

"Doesn't matter!"

"Stop, kid!"

Cupid tilted his head, replying, "Huh? You talkin' to me?"

"Leave no-!"

Cupid was already behind the guards, the guards were shocked, thinking, 'What kind of speed is that? He's already behind us? Is he an awakened human…? If he is, we need to call the Executives…'

Cupid walked through another door, and some works were confused on what was going on:

"An alarms going off.."

"What's going on?"

"I'm getting scared now."

"I don't care what it is, I hear yelling, I'm leaving. No need in staying to see the danger. That's how you get clipped."

Cupid swiftly moved past the crowd of worker, blending in with them, thinking, 'Oh?'

He saw Cheon-Bae's husband, Ken-Lee, sitting at a desk, sweating, and typing fast on the computer, thinking, 'Have to finish this…have to finish this..have to finish this, then leave…'

Ken-Lee had light brown hair, a brown beard, green eyes, and glasses

Cupid was behind Ken-Lee, chewing on the chocolate bar, saying, "The hell is that? Are you drawing a unicorn?"

Ken-Lee was startled, saying, "Ah! Who are you? Are you new?"

"So like, you don't hear the alarm and all that?"

"I have to finish this, and then I'll leave, or else-."

"Ho-Seok, yer boss, is gonna kick your ass."

"Yes. I can't afford to do that.."

"Mhm Mhm. Todays yer lucky day, old man. Yer wife had been worried about losing you due to your attitudes and shit. Ya know, being stressed out, and she believes the root of all of that is because of your job."

"She…thinks that?"

"I barely have enough customers as it is, I know my business is kinda shitty and dry, and I plan on creating a big business out of it, but I've came across a couple customers that know their partners well. I'm sure you've noticed you've changed because of this place, mainly because of your boss, Ho-Seok."

"So she sent you…to do what exactly? How can you, a random brat, change anything?"

"Fool. I'm literally Cupid. Cupid of Cupid's Rekindling Services. I'm charging your wife by the way."

"You.."

"Now I need your ass to leave. Where is your boss?"

"Why? Are you gonna beat him up? That's not gonna work."

"Hell yeah I am. Now what room is he in? Where's his office?"

"…12th floor."

"Good. Don't follow me either, leave. If anyone gets closely involved with that im gonna do, they will get dragged into it. I had a feeling your wife was gonna follow me, so I knocked her ass out for safety measures."

"You knocked out my wife-?!"

Cupid was gone, and Ken-Lee thinks, 'This kid…strange as ever. He says he's…Cupid? The actual Cupid? He is fast..but..I don't know…'

Just then, the security guards ran into the room, yelling, "Where is he? Where is the brat?!"

Ken-Lee was the only one left in the room, and the guards asked, "You! Where is he? We know he came through this room!"

Ken-Lee panicked, and he stood up quickly, saying, "He went that way!"

He pointed towards a random door, and the guards instantly went through that door to another office.

Ken-Lee sighed, saying to himself, "This is gonna be a disaster. Cheon-Bae…what have you done? All this..for us? If she went this far, that must mean…she's falling out of love for me..!"

On the 12th floor in front of a set of red double doors, stood Cupid. As he stood there, a black aura flowed from the doors and even under them. Goosebumps appeared on Cupid's skin, and he said, "Yeah, as I figured. The boss, Ho-Seok is definitely the core of all this…but.."

Cupid opened the door, and Ho-Seok was sitting at his desk, and in front of him, was a human-like shadow figure with black horns, with a black aura glowing off of its body, and it was sitting on top of Ho-Seok's desk saying to him, "It's going to be soon…you'll lose this company…look at how everything is going wrong..look at how poor the performance of your employees are…it's only a matter of time…"

Ho-Seok was sweating, his face getting red, and his fists balling up. He was chubby, had shoulder length slick hair, brown eyes, and freckles on his face.

He said, "It's all going down…it's all going down..I can't let it.."

The shadowy figure replied, "You have to…"

"I can't.."

"You have to, you have no choice. Everything is falling apart…"

Cupid walked forward more, and the shadowy figure gasped, saying, "That's…."

Cupid yawned, "What a bother, really."

"Purging us is not applicable…"

"Neither is letting you stay in this bitch."

Pink blood started to flow from Cupid's hand, and Cupid stuck his hand out, saying, "Paradox."

The shadowy figure jumped in the body of Ho-Seok, and he screamed, yelling, "AGHHH!!!"

The pink blood from Cupid's hand dropped to the floor, and suddenly, a loud shockwave blasted outwards.

Cupid and Ho-Seok stood in front of each other, they were in a large house, a mansion, but blood leaked from the walls, and there was fire on the cieling. And the floor had smoke coming from it, with torn up money in it. The walls had holes in them, and it looked half destoryed.

Cupid said, "So this is your Paradox spirit world, Ho-Seok. Boring."

Paradox/Paradox Spirit World : Cupid has the ability to create dimensions seperated from the outside world, it's only purpose is to keep the fight away from civilians. The Paradox Spirit World is the internal space and dimension within a persons soul and mind fills up the dimension with their inner thoughts, desires, or even stressful and anxious thoughts. Cupid's abiltiy, called, "Paradox", mends all of one's thoughts, desires, and fears into one, and creates the internal space and dimension from it.

Ho-Seok had black horns on his head, but they were made out of black fire, he had a large black smoky orb sitting in front of his chubby stomach, and his hands were covered in black fire, but they were the hands of a bear.

He said, "It's all gonna crumble down into pieces…hehe….I won't let it…but is it in vain if it try to stop it? Everything keeps going wrong…EVERYTHING!"

Ho-Seok started to screech, and the orb in front of him blasted forward, heading straight towards Cupid. The rob was destroying eveything around, with black and purple colors slashing all over the place along with wind.

It came straight for Cupid, but Cupid stuck his hand out, and grabbed the orb with one hand, saying, "Is that it?"

Ho-Seok growled, and Cupid destroyed the orb by crushing down on it with his fingers.

Cupid said, "Guess the root of the problem with that one couples marriage wasn't just you, but the shit you were going through, which made daily lives miserable for those who worked under you, your employees. I won't blame your chubby ass though, there's something in you that's increasing the negative energy. That unknown dark force that went inside you, became the embodiment of the negativity in your head, negatively impacting you and your mental state. You're scared your-."

"Going to loseeee this business?! A business I built from the ground up?! I can't let it happen, but everything has been going wrong, what if it happens eventually?!!"

"Then you're fucked."

Ho-Seok dashed forward with black flames coming from his body, and he was aiming to attack Cupid.

Cupid sighed, took one step forward, and his hair started to turn bright pink, and it resembled flames, flowing upward. Glowing pink lines started to grow on his face and body, his skin turned pure white, his eyes turned pink, and he had a white halo over his head, he had a pink flaming aura coming off of his body, and he grew pink wings on his back, and he was holding a red bow, with a red arrow case on his back with red arrows that had red hearts at the tip of them.

This form of Cupid's was called, "Valentine's Day."

He named it himself, it's horrible.

Cupid then sashed past Ho-Seok. Ho-Seok already had seven open holes In his body, and Cupid turned back around to fight.

He dashed up to Ho-Seok again, staring into his eyes, and pink and red flames formed on his fist, and he punched him in the face. The punch was devastating, it blasted all the walls and the floors out, with large pink and red winds flying all over the place. The punch sent Ho-Seok blasting into the air, through multiple cielings and other rooms.

Cupid appeared behind Ho-Seok, and punched him in the stomach this time, engulfing him in pink and red flames, sending him flying once again through multiple rooms of house.

Ho-Seok coughed up blood, said, "That power…unlike awakened humans…it's much..stronger!"

Cupid was in front of Ho-Seok now, and Ho-Seok had black and purple glowing orbs above him, and he blasted them at Cupid.

The destructive orbs tried to hit Cupid, but Cupid teleported around the area in a glitching manner, his body blinking over and over due to his speed.

Ho-Seok thinks, 'I can'ttttt hit him! Is he some sort of god?!'

Cupid was behind him, and slashed him in the back with his bow. Blood splattered everywhere, and Cupid vanished.

Cupid then reappeared and kicked Ho-Seok in the face, breaking his jaw, breaking down more walls, sending him flying with pink and red flames flying all over the place again.

Cupid was slicing Ho-Seok up with his bow, slashing all over the place at high speeds; red and pink flames surrounded them, and even created lines diagonal of them, and Cupid would blast through those lines at quick speed, slashing Ho-Seoul some more.

"Is this really all you've got?" Cupid asked while he blasted from one wall to another, cutting Ho-Seok up some more.

Blood raced everywhere, and Cupid said, "You're persistent though, I'll give you that!"

Ho-Seok thought, 'This speed…this strength! What is he?! A halo..wings…could he be-?!'

Cupid teleported above Ho-Seok, and kicked him in the stomach, as he started to fall down fast to the ground.

As he fell, the floor opened up wide fast, and inside the giant split in the floor, were Cupid and many clones of him looking upward, and they were all holding red and pink bows and arrows.

Ho-Seok said, "What is this power?!!! Is he-?!"

He then thought, '-Cupid…? He's supposed to be dead-!'

Cupid and the rest of the clones aimed their bows up, and glowing pink and red arrows shot upwards at Ho-Seok and all the arrows pierced through him, stabbing him straight through.

Ho-Seok coughed out more blood, and then he was face palmed by Cupid, and Cupid slammed his head into the house all, blowing it up entirely due to his strength, killing the dark embodiy of energy within Ho-Seok.

….

In a white empty void, Cupid was walking through it, thinking, 'The White Void. A parallel dimension where after darkness dies in the Paradox, the heart of the corrupted human is shown, like Ho-Seok, this is his heart.'

A white orb was floating in the middle of the area, and it had lingering dark energy around it.

Cupid walked towards it while putting an arrow in his bow, and he aimed at the orb, saying, "Cleanse, like right now."

He shot the arrow, and the arrow pierced through the orb, dissolving the darkness.

In the real world, Ken-Lee and Cheon-Bae both felt something refreshing in their hearts, both gasping at the same time; the same arrow pierced through their hearts as well, and pierced many of the workers hearts.

Back at the office, Ho-Seok was asleep in his desk, and Cupid was reappearing in front of it.

He yawned, "Ahhh. That was one pretty persistent, tough to kill for a second, and kinda annoying though."

He reached in his pocket, pulled out candy, and started eating it, and he turned around to walk away, thinking, 'The aura of darkness left this place, due to me killing the source. Ho-Seok will be awake any moment, but he himself won't remember a thing that happened in the Paradox and the White Void. Yeahhh, another relationship saved I guess, everyone affected by Ho-Seok and his anxiety and the dark embodiment surrounding him were affected positively after I pierced his heart with the arrow, which cleanses him and whoever dealt with anything negative from the dark energy, which came from his own stress and anxiety. Some other shit confuses me too; after all the jobs I've done to help couples and other people, it's always dark energy becoming the embodiment of someone's stress, and intensifies it up to 100. What are they? What the hell do they want? It's all FRUSTRATINGGG!'

Cupid could hear the guards coming, and he said to himself, "Ugh, not those nerds again."

Cupid vanished away, and the guards kept searching, saying, "I heard something over here! Go check it now!"

20 min later, Ken-Lee was driving home, and he kept thinking about Cupid, remembering his face and his words.

'That kid…did he actually do something? Why do I feel like this? I have this feeling that's been drawn out of me, like something's pulling out my true feelings for my wife that I hid under my stress…was that kid an Awakened human?'

Suddenly, he got an email sent to his phone, and at a stop light, he checked it. It read :

"This is Ho-Seok. Obviously you knew that, but I wanted to apologize for my blatant and carefree actions. I should've noticed how stressed and tired you guys were and I continued to add more to it, dealing with my own issues. I know now everything will be okay, I feel like I'm at peace out of nowhere, crazy as hell. Now, to get things back on track, you can choose your own overtime hours, I won't force you. Be safe tonight, and thank you all for your hard work."

Ken-Lee grinned, and he exclaimed, "What?!"

At his house, he opened the door, and Cheon-Bae was waiting for him in front of the door.

Cheon-Bae said, "Honey.."

Ken-Lee instantly ran and hugged her, and the hug was tight, Cheon-Bae hugged her back.

"Honey! Are you okay?"

"I-I'm fine!"

They stopped hugging and look at each other.

Ken-Lee said, "I love you, Che Che."

Cheon-Bae replied, "I love you more, Kenny."

Then they kissed or whatever. Throughout all the homes of the workers who worked with Ken-Lee, the same things were happening at their homes as well.

Back at the headquarters of Cupid's love rekindling services, the lights were out, Cupid was sitting on his bed watching korean romantic dramas, eating ice cream, chips, and cookies, and he was crying, saying, "HE LOVES YOU! IT'S OBVIOUS! LOOK AT HIS EYES! LOOK AT HER EYES! MUST BE FUCKING NICE!!!"
