**Kait**

“This is YOURS?” I ask, staring up at the colossal skyscraper before me.

“Yeah, but the whole pack shares it. It just so happens to be my name on the front.”

“Sure, your name that stands out in twenty-foot-tall letters. No big deal.”

‘Cunnington Tower’ is lit up in blinding white light, even though the sun is just breaking over the horizon.

“It was my dad’s idea. He always did like shiny things,” he tells me.

As he begins walking toward the door, I ask him, “What exactly does your company do again?”

He waves a hand as if the question was no more than part of the breeze. “A bit of real estate. Dad owned a couple of law firms before he came here. It was how he brought the pack together at first.”

“How many law firms?”

“I think at least twenty or so. He had them spread all across the nation.”

“Really? I would think that for a species trying to remain hidden, you all would camp out in the woods. Not live right smack in the middle of human society.”
