Chapter 11: Attributes??

Jun couldn't help but laugh at her embarrassment, though he knew that their little episode today might have dented their reputation quite a bit.

It's a good thing he bought those masks and cloaks.

Handing her one of each "Here... you should probably put this on".

Yinling, a little puzzled still accepted them. "Why do I need these?" she asked.

"Well I uh..." he didn't know how to break the news to her "Let's just say our reputation around these parts is not the best anymore".

With dark lines on her forehead. "Wha... what are they saying?" she said.

Knowing there was no other way to hide it he chose to tell her "After what happened... let's just say they seem to call us the 'shameless couple' and I quote"

Her hands flew to her face in sheer mortification. All she wanted was to hide away from the world, so no one could see her.

Opening her eyes, she saw Jun still sitting on the edge of the bed to her. "So do you think you can still teach me that" she asked softly.

Smiling he scooted closer to her "Of course, but as I said before, there may be more to this so don't go spreading this around"

In his heart, Jun was a bit hesitant to teach her. It's common knowledge that the fewer people who know something, the better. But life's meaningless if you can't share your secrets with someone you trust.

He may be taking a risk but it's a calculated one, he's checked her information with the system, and nothing suspicious has popped up so he's certain he can trust her.

In the future, she could help him uncover what is happening with everyone having such low energy manipulation values.

"Energy manipulation is pretty straightforward," he began. "But improving it is a different story." Seeing her nodding in understanding he continued.

"To get started, I want you to focus on your energy and tell me if you feel anything about... like say hot, cold"

He himself hasn't had enough time to check out what attributes his energy has but he can first check with her.

Hearing his words, she closed her eyes and focused on her energy. Like he said she tried to get a feel of her energy.

Minutes passed but she still felt nothing. Seeing the frustrated look on her face, he realized this wasn't going to work.

Stumped, he turned on his epiphany phase and within seconds realized the problem.

"Now that we have the warm-up out the way cough... this time try imagining the natural elements on your energy and whichever ones resonate with you, focus on that"

She felt a little suspicious, she couldn't help but feel he didn't know what he was talking about in the beginning but she still pressed forward.

First, she tried imagining her energy like water. Wet and wet?? Seeing her open her eyes he already knew why she had that look. "Just imagine your energy taking the form of the element"

"Ah ok" She nodded and went back to closing her eyes.

This time she tried turning her energy into earth and imagined the way it would behave but nothing happened.

Moving on she tried the same with water but as the same with earth, nothing happened.

Feeling a little frustrated she continued with the element wind but nothing happened.

Then she arrived at the fire element, she tried imagining her energy rising into a scorching hot flame that illuminated her surroundings. Suddenly out of nowhere, she felt herself falling into an abyss of flames, she saw her flesh melting away but for some reason, she felt no pain.

On the contrary, she felt a comforting warmth, as if she were in her mother's womb all over again.

Opening her eyes abruptly, she saw her body soaked in sweat from head to toe.

Turning around she saw Jun with an expectant face.

"It's fire" she said with a mix of calm and excitement.

Hearing her voice, he could see her hands trembling not from exhaustion but from joy.

To be honest, he has no idea how the flame attributes or any attribute would affect them.

"So... what do feel? Any changes? Can you shoot flames" He asked eagerly.

"It's not like that" she corrected him. "It's more like this" She extended her hand and touched the bedside table with her index finger.

All of sudden the table went flying and smashed itself against the wall almost making a hole in it. Frankly speaking, he was shocked, where are the flames?? What kind of power is this?

Looking at her with his jaw open he asked "How did you do that!?"

"I seem to have used the fire element to ignite the energy on the tip of my finger, as to how I knew to do this... I just did"

Ignite? This doesn't seem to fit the script, she can ignite her energy? Doesn't that mean she can ignite his energy and make him explode?

Scooting a little further away subconsciously, he asked "Can you ignite other people's energy"

She smiled mischievously. "Not sure, want to try?"

Seeing her smile sent a shiver down his spine. She wouldn't want revenge would she, he's only punched her and slapped her but that's in the past.

"Maybe another time... let's see your abilities first"

Nodding, she then went on to experiment by igniting different parts of her body by putting her energy there.

At first, she wasn't really good but slowly over time her control improved dramatically.

Looking at her status window, he was surprised to find out many changes had occurred.

Seeing that she had double attributes came as a surprise for him. Having double attributes is extremely rare according to his system so seeing her have double came as a surprise.

"System, can you explain how the light attribute works"

[Back to the Host! The light attribute can dramatically increase the user's reaction speed and speed of the user, while it has many other functions, those are more advanced]

"Damn..." was all he could say.

This world is not what he expected. Does figuring out your attribute really increase your potential that much? He saw her energy control had dramatically increased so she would be even more powerful than before.

[Ding! Host, I almost forgot each attribute will increase a person's cultivation speed by 5x]

"..."

Wouldn't that mean she can directly take off? From looking at her other information, he saw her talent had been unlocked even more, with better energy control she could increase her cultivation speed tremendously.

Should he tell her that she has immortal emperor talent? Would she be able to handle the news?

"Yinling... before we continue, I am going to tell you something you may like or may not like"

Broken out of her excitement, she looked at the serious Jun "What do you mean?"

A little weary he continued "Well... um... it seems when you were being tested for your talent, they may have gotten it somewhat wrong..."

Was she hearing him correctly? Her talent is not Low-level affinity? "So what are you trying to say Jun" she asked him to clarify.

"You see... I have this special skill that lets me see the talent of others and well... I tried it on you and it seems you have immortal emperor affinity"

"What... then why-" she wanted to speak but was abruptly cut off.

"I know what you want to say but... for some reason, your talent seems to have been locked away and only until now when we discovered your attributes it has become active, try cultivating"

Does she seriously have immortal emperor talent, would that mean everything she went through was for nothing? She knew Jun wouldn't lie to her like that so she tried it.

Sure enough, the difference felt like night and day, the speed at which she attracted the energy in her surroundings previously was at a snail's pace.

Currently, she felt like she was flying in the air at the speed of sound at the rate at which the energy in her surroundings moved towards her.

Unknowingly she felt like breaking through and took the chance, seconds later she broke through the middle foundation establishment level leaving her with a bittersweet feeling.

If she had never met him, she felt her life would have been miserable. So much has changed in just a few days thanks to him. If she had continued down her path, she doubted whether she would have wanted to continue to live.

She opened her eyes to find Jun staring in awe. A soft smile graced her lips. Was it perhaps destiny that had brought them together, only time would tell.
