Webnovel doesn't pay the translators, and this is the result! It's the same issue with 'Tales of Herding Gods', 'Forty Millennia of Cultivation', 'Kingdom's Bloodline', and now this novel. All the top-tier novels for which Webnovel obtains translation rights end up being dropped midway and are never completed.

This has been a really great book, and the translation was going really well. I would have highly suggested this to other readers in the past.Unfortunately, around a ways into chapter 2200 , the translator changed, and the chapters after that have had a lot dumb mistranslations, which the old translator didn't make.It suggests the new translator will be putting in low effort and hasn't bothered to use prior chapters to check what they are doing.

I love this series! Like most other funny cultivation titles it's best if you've read some other Wuxia / Xianxia stories before. But unlike a lot of the others where you practically need to be an expert on every plot line and trope out there to get the humor - this should be funny for even relative newcomers. Here instead of super-meta-humor this has more funny moments with the clash between cultivator 'culture' and the modern day along with some pretty great characters. How does one ancient and distinguished master give condolences to another whos pupil was injured in a lightning tribulation? Well a sad face emoji of course! Need to send someone an ancient fighting style? Well strap a USB key to a flying sword obviously! So far the story doesn't have a whole lot of meat to it - but that's part of the charm. Sure there are enemies, adventures, trials and getting stronger - but the MC is mostly just trying to survive them and maybe finish college. No desperate stuggle for revenge, no burning need to become immortal, no heroic battle to save (or conquer) the world. And thank goodness. The author proves he can make something great to read without any of that. Oh - and so far no harem either. The MC likes girls but doesn't need to conquer every one he meets. And so far no ridiculous world-shaking love at first sight. But again, a more 'normal' college love life (dates, crushes, and roomates that brag) is refreshing. As for the MC in general, while generally fairly lucky he isn't super-OP. Again - most normal tropes for why the MC is so special and amazing are thrown out the window. And while the MC is living in two worlds that isn't over used so far. So you won't see the MC whining all the time about how he can't tell the woman he loves about his abilities etc. Starting to see why I like this so much? So if you are tired of the same old thing - give this a try. It starts off a bit slow so give it a bit. You should be hooked well before Venerable White shows up (and Venerable White is well worth the wait).

This is one of best novel which i have ever read. MC is very funny and characters surrounding him are also unique in their onway. I like how this novel doesn't have cliches like other ones where we can pretty much guess the plotline. The plot of this novel is totally different and gives refreshing feeling. The translation quality is also good, i just wish the number of chapters/week can increase.

The story is really good and you want to know what bad luck will happen to the MC. BUT, After the chapter 2270 this is translated by machine and become absolutely illegible.

Used to be translated in Volate, now finally, it can be properly translated. I just hope that the quality will be at least up to standard. I recommend this novel to xianxia enthusiast who are already well-versed with the terms used in xianxia novels. It's hilarious, entertaining, and will pretty much make you see more of the cultivation world as compared to the usual arrogant master tropes.

Very well done novel. Both the translation and the actual content are high quality. It is a comedy book though so you can't have high expectations in serious drama or heavy plot. But, since you are reading this you should already expect that. The humor is funny and even the non funny parts can make you smile. A great plus to this novel are the characters. All of them are quite amusing and their comments on the chat board are hilarious. There is some action thrown in. Enough so that it doesn't ever get boring and even fight junkies can enjoy the story. The MC is fairly far from OP. Everyone is generally stronger than him for a good while and even later into the story he's barely just started cultivating in relation to other characters. On a more informative side, this novel IS a modern cultivation novel involving internet chat, cell phones, cars, monster, flying swords and even magical farm tractors. Specially magical farm tractors. Read this. It's good. As long as you're looking for a light hearted comedy with some action mixed in. Also they just started translating the manghua so you can see how the characters look like if you read that in conjunction.

Even the background characters have personalities. I didn't expect to love this story, but now I'm really looking forward to the next chapters~

Best novel out here for modern cultivation and a relax kind of nove. The MC was a very mischievous guy he is good and honest person but kinda weird in his own way. till now there isn't a significant danger that make him scared of the cultivation world. He always make his enemies misunderstand about his power so it's kinda funny to see his enemies scared out of his mind when they are surprised. What i think is lacking in this novel is the translation is too slow. the raw already have more than 1000 chapter but it's only 7 chapter per week. That mean we need to wait for a long time before the novel develop to it's true state.

I read it some time ago and really liked it at first. The idea was good and the MC was somewhat relatable. Problem is... it really fast went over the top, using all sort of tropes and sacrificing any seeds for decent character development. I read it up to 80+ chapter and gave up however mind you, the novel is not bad. It is nothing mind blowing but few of the readers here actually seek anything deep and profound. It is entertaining enough and on par or better than the average novel on the site.

It's a great story with fantastic world building, loveable characters and a lot of funny and ridiculous situations. But after 2270 chapters the translator left because he wasn't happy with the low pay. Now it's machine translated. Who wants to pay for this garbage translation. So if you actually want to finish a story don't read this one even thought it's great.

Shows these people do not just stay in the past they advance and incorporate technological advancement into theor cultivation parts... This is a 5* novel but it becomes a 4* novel because for an already complete novel with over 3000 uploading only 7 chapters a week is too little... Will take years before the novel is complete and people may get tired of it along the way...

My favorite novel I've found to date! Story is refreshing and not recycled. Characters are all very interesting! The take on the effects of technology on cultivators is hilarious when paired with the expectations of the mc. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who is doesn't mind a not combat focused novel and who probably has some prior understanding of wuxia novels.

Unique and funny plot. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a non generic xanxia story with interesting characters. The setting is in 21st century earth and does a great job protraying how ancient cultivators adapt to the changing world.

Easily one of the best Chinese cultivation novels. This novel avoids the usual pitfalls inherent in the genre like characters disappearing because the MC outgrows them. On top of this the MC is likeable and not a murderer hobo. That doesn't mean he's a pushover as he will kill if required, but he isn't constantly looking for a reason to be offended. It also very nicely mixes in humor in a somewhat serious setting without the weird juxtaposition some serious/comedy novels have. The translation is also top notch. While some names and terms are taken liberty with, anybody that works in translation knows that you have to interpret terms when going from one language to another. Literal word for word translation often come over as stilted and doesn't flow which can kill a novel. MTL is a prime example of this, and anybody who has read any knows while you can generally get the idea of MTL it isn't very fun to read or literary in the least. So this novel has excellent translation, a good MC, great supporting characters, excellent mix of humor and seriousness, and a refreshing break from the usual repetitiveness found in cultivation novels. What are you waiting for? Go read it.
