Source of Trouble!

Chapter 12: Source of Trouble!

"They were lackeys of Zhou Mahu," Li Haoping replied, causing an expression of shock on Fang Yuan's face.

Zhou Mahu was the son of Zhou Humang, a Foundation Building level cultivator and owner of one of the largest talisman factories in Yellow Peach City.

(A/N: I have changed Foundation Establishment to Foundation Building.)

"How did you even offend a character of that level?" Fang Yuan couldn't help but ask with a pained expression.

Zhou Mahu lived in an affluent part of the city, so Li Haoping should never have encountered someone like that.

A surprised expression appeared on Fang Yuan's face when he saw the look of pride on Li Haoping's face after his question.

'As expected, it is all due to a girl,' Fang Yuan cursed in his heart after finding out the crux of the issue.

Li Haoping was a good-looking boy with some wealth, so he usually got girlfriends without much effort. The longest relationship that Li Haoping had with any girl lasted over two months. But for some reason, Li Haoping found a girl who rejected him. That rejection became a challenge for Li Haoping, and soon, he fell in love with the girl. He didn't fail to get her, but after some effort, she became the girl he was currently in a relationship with.

Zhou Mahu seemed to have seen the girl somewhere and became fascinated with her. Unfortunately for him, the girl also liked Li Haoping, so she bluntly refused, and that became the source of conflict between the two.

Fang Yuan couldn't say anything after hearing the story. Li Haoping and Chen Pingan liked each other and were loyal to each other, so conflict was bound to arise. Fang Yuan also became happy for Li Haoping since it was rare to find a girl of that character in a poor family.

"Okay, I get it; remove that expression; you are making me cringe," Fang Yuan stated, seeing the lasting expression on Li Haoping's face.

Fang Yuan returned to his house with a bag. Fortunately for him, he had stored the bag in the storage, so it didn't get ruined due to the beatdown he and Li Haoping had.

"Brother, what happened to your face?"

A scream rang in the house as Fang Hua saw the swollen face of her eldest brother. Fang Yuan only smiled in response to that and instead pointed at the bag.

Although Fang Hua was too old to be distracted by a bag, her nose was assaulted by the scent of raw meat as soon as Fang Yuan opened the bag's mouth.

"Meat!" She exclaimed in shock.

Fang Zan, who was about to ask Fang Yuan about the injury, had the same reaction after smelling the meat.

"Let's go; I will cook for you," Fang Yuan smiled.

Fang Zan and Fang Hua forgot about the swelling and injury on Fang Yuan's body and became excited. They had meat yesterday due to Fang Yuan's birthday, but the two liked it so much that they wouldn't have an issue if they ate only that.

Several minutes later, the trio of siblings sat on the floor and had the cooked meat. Fang Zan and Fang Hua had watery mouths all through the cooking process, and when they could finally eat, they tore through the food.

Chen Haoxi had purchased a stove and some plates early in the morning, so Fang Yuan used them.

Not very long had passed when the house bell rang. Fang Yuan walked to the door, and as expected, it was his mother on the other side.

"Welcome back," Fang Yuan said after opening the door.

Chen Haoxi looked tired since she not only had to go to work but also had to shop for house items after that was over. Since there were too many items, she had to book a delivery service.

She was about to ask her sons to go down to help the deliveryman when she suddenly turned surprised after the fragrant smell of cooked meat attacked her nose.

She looked at Fang Yuan, who was to answer when the bell rang again. That time, it came from the ground floor. Chen Haoxi decided to wait to get the answer and told Fang Yuan and Fang Zan to go down.

Fang Zan was at the peak of the first level of Qi refining and was close to stepping into the next level, he had sufficient strength to help his brother. Fang Yua was the same, but Fang Yuan rejected her help and went down with Fang Zan.

Around an hour later, the items were finally stored inside the house, and it no longer looked empty.

At that time, Fang Tian had also returned from work, and he had brought packed boxes of noodles for the family. He and his wife sternly looked at Fang Yuan after learning that he purchased twenty pounds of meat.

"Why did you spend your money on meat?" Chen Haoxi angrily asked.

The parents rarely gave pocket money to their children, and whatever they gave, they didn't want the three to spend it back on family.

Fang Yuan had already stopped asking for pocket money, seeing the family's condition, and the approaching entrance, which would also require some of the family's savings.

Fang Yuan had a relieved expression in his heart since he had expected his parents to ask him about the source of the money, but they misunderstood it as his savings, so they only reprimanded him.

Fang Yuan didn't talk back and simply listened to his parents with his head down.

"You should have saved it for yourself," Chen Haoxi gently commented at the end.

Fang Yuan simply nodded in response and didn't say anything else. Fang Zan and Fang Hua also had guilty expressions since they devoured the meat with excitement, and their brother was now getting reprimanded for it.

"Mom and Dad, you don't need to worry about my savings. I have found a job in a martial arts gym," Fang Yuan said, looking at his parents.

Since he would constantly earn money from the sale of the tree and he wanted to help his siblings, he decided to make up a fake job.

Fang Tian, who was the calmer of the two while reprimanding Fang Yuan, suddenly flared up when he heard his son.
