Second Trip to Market!

Chapter 13: Second Trip to Market!

"I've told you many times you only need to focus on your cultivation," Fang Tian angrily said.

"Is this injury on your face from the work?" Chen Haoxi asked.

The issue of moving things and then the meat issue took their attention away from the swelling on Fang Yuan's face.

"No, it is because I got into a fight with a bunch of hooligans. Luckily, the girl I saved was the sister of the gym owner so when he learned about it, he offered me a job and a place to train for free."

Fang Yuan shook his head and made up a lie. The fight earlier in the day showed how incompetent he was when it came to fighting. No matter how many times he punched or kicked in practice if the other side was better at fighting, he would face the same result again.

To solve that issue, Fang Yuan decided to join a gym and train with other students. But his parents wouldn't be able to afford the fees, and neither could he save that much money, so he decided to make up that lie.

He didn't worry about his parents finding out his lie since the two were so busy with their jobs that they wouldn't get the time to check on him.

Fang Tian thought of entering the pagoda while lying down on his bed. The next moment, he appeared before the portal. There was still more than a day left before the timer ended, and he couldn't travel to another place. He just wanted to make himself believe that everything was real and that he had gotten an opportunity to rise.

'Maybe I am a protagonist who has forgotten his memory,' Fang Yuan couldn't help but think since the stories about the protagonists who rose to the sky after finding a powerful item were quite popular.

Since there was nothing much to see there, Fang Yuan returned to reality and immediately fell into a deep sleep. His body needed rest after the beatdown he had earlier in the day.

Time flew by, and hours passed in the blink of an eye.

Fang Yuan woke up before sunrise and started meditating according to the cultivation art. Around an hour later, he was called by his mother for breakfast.

The conversation about his work overwhelmed the breakfast table. The two parents repeatedly emphasized to Fang Yuan about the health of his body.

Simply stepping into the third level of Qi refining wouldn't guarantee him admission to the major sects of the city. There would be different exams, and for that, he needed a healthy body free of injuries.

A few minutes later, Fang Tian left, and soon after that, Chen Haoxi also left for work. Fang Yuan was left alone on the table, but that didn't last long and his siblings came out of the rooms.

As usual, Fang Yuan cut half of the omelet into two equal parts and handed each to his two siblings. But unlike before, Fang Zan and Fang Hua immediately refused and returned the part to him.

"You eat it," Fang Zan responded.

"You will need the energy to work in the gym," Fang Hua added to it.

Fang Yuan simply smiled in response to his siblings and forced them to eat the two parts. They struggled for a while, but as soon as the omelet touched their tongue, they became honest and devoured the portion in no time.

Since Fang Zan and Fang Hua were both older than ten years, Fang Yuan trained with them. To be precise, the two younger siblings followed the lead of the eldest.

Time flew by, and hours passed in the blink of an eye.

Ring! Ring!

Fang Yuan opened his eyes as the alarm clock rang. He then looked at the clock and found it was four o'clock.

Fang Yuan stood up from his meditation and walked to the bathroom. After washing his face, he left the house.

Fang Zan and Fang Hua were out playing with their friends, so he simply closed the gate from the outside and climbed down the stairs.

Later in the night, the timer would return to zero, making him eligible to enter another world or the same world again. Fang Yuan wanted to sell the tree and convert some of his wealth into spirit stones.

Spirit coins had the Federation bank's pattern on the back, and Fang Yuan couldn't use them anywhere else if he didn't want to get caught.

The Federation Bank was owned by the Federation of Sects with an equal share of 7% among the seven major sects. The remaining 51 percent belonged to the Shang Family, the wealthiest human family on the Qingtian Continent.

The usual rate for conversion was 1000 spirit coins for one low-level spirit stone but that was nearly impossible to get when the conversion was for spirit stones.

Fang Yuan hadn't spent on anything other than the meat yesterday, so he still had 6,550 spirit coins. He would sell another 30 kilograms of wood today, so his wealth was bound to further increase.

A few minutes later, Fang Yuan reached the entrance of the evening market. He took a deep breath and walked inside, a bag had already appeared in his hand.

He hurried to Talisman Street and suddenly froze when he saw who was waiting there for him.

He wanted to turn around and return to his home, but the other party was quicker. He found a pressure binding him down to the ground.

"I don't have any ulterior motives. Come with me," The boy said. It was Shengong Linfang who purchased the wood the previous day.

Fang Yuan didn't want to follow the man, but his legs followed automatically, and not long after, the two were sitting inside a restaurant.

"I know you have more of that wood." Shengong Linfang initiated the conversation, pointing at the bag in Fang Yuan's hands. He didn't seem to care about the feelings of Fang Yuan after the latter got kidnapped by him.
