Arriving
Dan's P.O.V.
We exited the dungeon without any injuries, the 4 of us carried on walking to Entropy. "Wait, walking is too troublesome," I told them. "Hm. What do you think we should do then? Fly?"The silent paladin finally spoke up and sneered at me sarcastically. "Yep," I replied.
"There are 4 of us that isn't poss-" Before she finishes her sentence, I called out a minor wind avatar and command it to bring us to Entropy. I heard screams and laughter from my travelling companions. "Ahhhhhhh!!!"The paladin freaked out in mid-air. "Put-t me down at once!" She screeched. "HAHAHA, so this is the famous paladin from the temple of peace? Afraid of a simple spell, hahaha" Taking advantage of this situation, I teased her. The princess together with Britinia giggled at the sight of the frightened paladin.
"Damn you... I will get you for this after this trip."She replied shaking with anger. "Go ahead and try"I grinned at this sight of her.
On the way to Entropy we met a couple scouts of the guild master, whenever one of them spotted us, I would cast a fireball spell and turn him into ash. Strange, my hesitation to kill has weakened considerably and is almost non-existent now. I guess power does indeed corrupt but does it really matter in this world, I kept this thought to myself and concentrated on my journey.
We flew over the city gates but nobody stopped us, so we continue hovering near the surface of the ground and approached the princess castle at the centre of the city. The knights and guards spotted us entering the castle by flying over the gates. They gathered together and greeted the master of the castle. "Long live the princess of Dusk!"
"Do not let anyone into the castle. The guild master and several other enemies have tried to assassinate the princess. Even if the royal symbol is shown do not let anyone enter! This is the royal decree by the king that all knights under the king would be placed under the princess's command. That is all, return to your stations!" Britinia shouted her commands and guide us into the guest rooms.
"Wait... why is this paladin still following us? It's time for you to leave isn't it?"I asked the stalking paladin. "What I am doing here does not concern you!" She replied coldly and remained here. We were each assigned a room to rest.
Meanwhile in the room of Allysium
Allysium's P.O.V.
"When did father assigned such a royal decree? And what should I do now? "I asked Britinia with a worrisome tone. "The king had written this in his will. As for what we should do... we should hide in the castle for now until the situation outside stabilize. If possible, we need to rope in that magician at all cost. Having him support us can stabilize our dangerous situation. With his backing, we may not need to endure those nasty nobles." She advised.
Thinking about how he easily killed of a tier 6 monster, I understood the rationale of Britinia's thinking. However, how am I going to get him to help me? Should I just pay him a large sum of gold? I realized how powerless I am in this situation. Since I was extremely tired from the escape from my enemies, I decided to think of this tomorrow. I wanted to take a bath and sleep for the rest of the day. Oh, how I missed my leisure lifestyle...
Back to Dan's P.O.V.
While staying in my room, I felt a strange ominous sensation about this castle. The flow of magic seems oddly unnatural, and there was a feeling of someone watching me. What's going on? Curious by this sensation, I began searching for the anomaly in the castle.
[What's going on?]-I asked the system.
[The sensation you are feeling right now comes from 2 different sources. The ominous sensation is caused by a tier 8 formation located in the bathroom near the princess's room. The feeling of someone watching you is attributed by a being summoned by the paladin you brought along. It is an angel summoned by the paladin located in her room. The host is suggested to get rid of the angel before dealing with the paladin.]-An expressionless voice rang out inside my head.
Ah, I see... so she here to dig out the situation that is unfolding in the kingdom of Dusk and sent it back to the temple or to that goddess. In other words, she is a spy working for the temple of peace. Perhaps I should give them a scare hahaha, I thought to myself. And for that tier 8 formation... maybe instead of removing it, I could alter it to suit my needs, I grinned.
While I know that she is suspicious of me, I don't like the feeling of being spied on. Since the minor angel is a being of the light element, could the light elemental avatar control it? With this, I purposefully cast a spell loudly. [I pray to myself, the current lord of nothing, in exchange for my faith give me the power to wipe my enemies, from the thin air of nothing I call to the light elements gathered in this world, combine together and create a consciousness, Over magic Medium-Avatar of Light]
There was a light appearing out of mid-air and shining brightly, blinding my vision. Arghhh my eyes... I need to take precautions the next time I cast this one... A figure slightly taller than me appeared and bowed towards me. "Eliminate and punish those prying eyes," I commanded. The figure nodded and look in the direction of the Paladin's room. The angel turned towards its summoner and exploded.
*Boom* *the sound of an explosion could be heard.*
Together with the avatar of light, I went to the third level of the castle and approached the bathroom. Before entering I knocked loudly on the door.
