What the heck is going on?
The next morning I found Sage at my cabin door, we walked to the dining pavilion together in silence.
As soon as we reached there, Sage opened her mouth, she looked like she wanted to say something, but before any sound could come out Chiron the ceinture-wait was it Cainture? No…maybe…Wait wait wait, the books I read… YES GOT IT! A CENTAUR! AnYwHo, Sage opened her mouth, she looked like she wanted to say something, but before any sound could come out Chiron the Centaur (I think it's pronounced as SEN-tar. Yes that's how you say it, well *frowns* OK yeah) suddenly shouted: "TIME FOR CAPTURE THE FLAG! POSEIDON, ZEUS, oh wait, no one is in that cabin…OK UM POSEIDON, ATHENA ARE IN A GROUP, DEMETER, APHRODITE ARE IN A GROUP, HERMES, DIONYSUS-
Someone from behind Chiron answered: "YES?"
Everyone laughed.
Chiron rolled his eyes: "Don't interrupt, Dionysus."
Dionysus appeared: " Oh well, I heard somebody call me."
People snicker.
Chiron sighed and continued to talk: "HERMES, DIONYSUS IN A GROUP, AND FINALLY ARES AND HEPHAESTUS IN A GROUP."
I looked at Sage like 'Capture the flag? What the hell is THAT?' Sage grinned at me.
"ALL RIGHT, GET IN YOUR GROUPS. WE START IN 3 2 1 GOO."
I stood still and looked around blankly. Sage came over to me and gently pulled my hand. -
"Don't worry," She reassured me " Athena always has a plan. Coral, can you stand for flag defender?"
I took a deep breath and looked at our opponents. Loni was glaring at me with eyes full of hatred. He smirked at me. He turned around and whispered something to the kids next to him. The kids nodded.
"Uh-" I was about to deny
"Well, I'll take that as a yes! C'ya!" Sage winked at me and ran together with the other Athena kids.
The Ares boys charged at me, with a squeak I grabbed the sword Poseidon had given me from my pocket. I was ready to face what would happen when the boys froze from their tracks. They were looking at the sword in my hand, they seemed to be frightened of it. Soon everyone was looking at me and the sword I held. Everyone shuffled nervously as Chiron stepped out, he took one look at the sword and choked.
"No…It can't be…" Chiron murmured to himself "That sword was destroyed long ago…impossible…"
"What?" I said, confused by the reactions of everyone.
Chiron sighed: "That sword is famous throughout Greek history, I-it was supposed to be destroyed but I really don't understand why it's not."
He tried to take the sword from my hand but it shrank and turned into a bracelet. It had a golden trident on it, exactly like the one I had on my pendant.
Chiron took a step back: "There's nothing I can do from now o-
A boy I had seen sitting on the Hephaestus table last night interrupted: "But Chiron…surely you can-"
"No, " Chiron said sternly, turning to face the boy and then back to me:"this sword has chosen you to be its owner, take good care of Asimikyma."
"Asheemi what now?" I mumbled, looking at the bracelet.
"A-si-mi-kee-ma." Chiron spelled to me as if I was a little child.
"Oh…uh…Can I go back to defending?" I said, eager to change the subject.
Silence. Awkward silence.
"Um…Hello???" I said quietly
Silence.
"Hello??" I said again, but this time it came out as a squeak
Chiron looked around him and finally said: "The game will continue."
Well, that simple sentence had a surprisingly big effect, people started to scatter around back to where they were. Sage gave me a thumbs up and also jogged away.
