She turned him off.

It was exactly 9:00 PM on the dot when Sarah asked to have a conversation with her dad. It was the eve of her wedding and she wasn't sure if she wanted to continue with the marriage plans. Her dad all tired had to give her a listening ear when she requested to have a word with him. "I'm worn out, but for your sake, I'll give you 5 mins. Please make sure you don't go above that." Jack mentioned.

"Yes dad, it won't take me 2 minutes to air my mind."

"Great."

"I'm no longer interested in getting married to Harley," she said politely.

Her dad was not sure of what he heard, he went into the restroom washed his face, and came back to the living room, this time he stood firm and asked his daughter to repeat what she just said, she repeated her statement and he just stared wide open-eyed could not shut like the whole world was breaking crumble apart around him. He didn't even shake. Just there, he was in total paralysis without realizing what will happen after that.

"You heard me, dad, I don't think I'm the perfect match for him, we've known ourselves just for two months and if you ask my me, I don't think we are meant to be together." Sarah said.

"Shut that thing you call a mouth. What do you know about love? I repeat, what do you know about love? Are you sure you are okay because I don't get it? You are getting married in a few hours and told me just now you don't think you two are meant to be together, what do I tell the Thomson's?" he asked, as his hands were shivering.

"You simply tell them, I refuse the deal and that's it." Sarah said calmly.

"His family has done enough for us, is that how you chose to pay them?"

"I assume he's a good Samaritan who brought his help to the needy. I had a stressful day at work, all I need now is rest. I think you need that too, see you soon." Sarah said, next she moved to her bedroom upstairs.

"Hey lady, where do you think you are going to? The job you are talking about was offered to you by Harley." Jack mentioned.

Sarah left him all alone in the living room and reported to her room. She had no idea how her father felt. It was going to be a shame for him to call his friends and business associate to let them know about the cancellation of the wedding.

"How do I get myself out of this messy situation?" he asked himself.

Sarah in her room received a message from her new boyfriend Bob, he was the reason why she refused getting married to Harley. She was more concerned in the money than love. Bob had succeeded in getting her attention through the luxury gifts and the multiple shopping, if she was going to be in a relationship with someone, it was Bob and not Harley.

Her beloved dad could not bear this pain inflicted on him by a little naughty girl, he went knocking on her door so they could talk about it. "Dad, no need knocking on my door, cause I know you want us to talk about Harley, told you already that I'm no longer interested in getting married to him. They are pretty girls out there, he should replace me with one of them." she muttered.

"Young girl, I hope you don't regret your decision. Don't come crying to me later cause it will be late."

"I won't cry dad, made my decision and that's final." she rehearsed. her dad was tired of begging her, and he left for his room. On his way, he paused and thought for a moment, with his hands on his chin. "What do I do now?" he asked himself.

"Oh yes, Queen! She will help me do the job. I can't let go of this marriage, if Sarah thinks she will inflict shame unto my name, then she's joking." he mentioned. He was in his room and fixed the clock, it was 11:32 PM, he knew Queen most have been resting. He had plans of seeing her very early the next morning. Sarah had succeeded in airing out her mind, she was unconnected to Harley now, though he had paid the bride price already. She promised to pay them off if her dad wasn't in the measure to return them.

The Thomson's villa

Harley was from the kitchen, his throat was dry, and he needed something in liquid to quench that. The maids were sleeping already, he decided to make a cup of coffee for himself. His dad who wasn't able of closing his eyes, soon left his room for the living room, on his arrival he heard some noise in the kitchen. "Geraldine are you the one? He asked coldly.

"No dad, I'm the one," Harley said politely.

"I thought you were in bed already, it's past 11:00 PM, you should be sleeping now, don't forget you are getting married in a few hours." his dad mentioned.

"Common dad, there's nothing special about the wedding, we both know I'm getting married for business purposes, if not that I won't even be in town." he said politely.

"That's true. But it's still your wedding, no matter what, so please get done with your cup of coffee and get some rest."

Bernard's phone rang from his room, he had forgotten to take that along with him. Harley quickly went upstairs and got it for him. "It's Mr. Jack calling." he said while handling the phone to his dad.

"Calling at this time of the night? I hope he got something reasonable to say."

"Hello, my good friend."

"Hello Jack, you've never called me this late, I hope all is fine?" he mumbled.

"Things are not in the right sense....."

"What do you mean by that?" he asked as he got up from his chair waiting for Jack to clear his throat.

"My daughter told me just now, she wasn't longer interested in the marriage." Jack said calmly.

"What? Are you kidding me?" he asked furiously.
