Chapter#10 : Together

It was a Saturday afternoon and Mariposa was preparing the lunch. She loved cooking and baking and mostly spent her free time in the kitchen. However, her weekends were especially meant for kitchen. Shane and Chase were out with their friends. Amelia went with aunt Amy to spa. Mariposa refused them because she had spent her last weekend at spa too with them.

A clearing of throat broke the chain of Mariposa's thoughts. "what do you want Mathew ?" She didn't turn back to look at him. Suddenly she was pulled on to a chest, harshly. She looked up and was shocked to see Daniel. What was he doing there? That was the first thought that crossed her mind. Oh boy!!she was so dead ,he looked so angry. She wanted to release the tension in the air. " Hey" she greeted him smiling. She was nervous and anxious. But she didn't want to show him.

He smiled at her and shook his head ,taking a deep breath he asked. "Why do you always have to bring that Mathew between us." The confidence she had shown him that day was nowhere and she was all tensed again. No words were coming out of her mouth. "Forget about him." he ordered her. "He is --ju-just a fri---fffriend." She stuttered. She was confused. Why was he behaving like that. She didn't look up. His gaze was so intense that she was nearly shivering. "I don't like you talking to other men." He told her. Now she was more puzzled ."Why?" She tried to prevent but these words came out of her mouth on their own. "If you don't want him getting hurt , stay away from him , love." He threatened her but the endearment he gave her made her, look at him with wide eyes. He just passed her a smirk and left the kitchen.

She set the table and went to call grandma and grandpa for lunch. He was also present there. Wasn't he busy? 'Mariposa it's his house' she scolded herself and started to serve. "It's delicious." Daniel said. "Mariposa made it. She is so perfect for you Daniel I am so happy." Grandma said clapping her hands like a kid. Grandpa chuckled at her expressions. "Indeed she is." Daniel said. The warm feelings enveloped Mariposa's heart. She looked at him. Was he acting to make grandma happy. But he sounded honest. He looked at her and caught her staring at him. She looked down. Her cheeks heated up in embarrassment.

"Daniel you better remember that tomorrow is James' twins birthday." grandpa told him. She had forgotten about that. She hadn't went to buy them, gifts. "Do you want to go to mall Mariposa." Grandma asked her. "Yeah." She replied. "Good ,I will take you." Daniel said without looking at her. "it's not necessary....." He raised a brow at her. "I---i mean y--you must be bus--y. I can go with ----- Mathew." She told him. "No" he was angry again. Both grandpa and grandma chuckled. "He is right . You must go with him . Because both of you have to attend the party together as a couple." Grandpa said. "What?" She was shocked but he was clearly unaffected. Did he know? He should have stopped them. Why did he want others to know about them. He was making everything more difficult for her. "It's your first public appearance as a couple. Many of our business dealers and other important people will be present. Media will also be present there." Grandpa told them. Mariposa was nervous. "I don't think so it's a good idea." She tried to convince grandpa. "Why?" Daniel asked looking directly into her eyes. Would his girlfriend not mind it? She averted her eyes and looked towards grandpa. He knew her insecurities

"You don't have to be worried, I am always here for you." Again Daniel's words flattered her. He left no room for arguements. She nooded her head. After lunch he asked her to get ready for the shopping. "I am ready." She said looking at her attire. "You are not going to wear this. I don't like people staring at what's mine." He said while pointing at her bare legs. She shuddered at his authoritative words. "You better wear something which covers most of your body. I hope you will understand otherwise you won't like the consequences." She looked at him with open mouth. He closed her mouth with his hand. " Don't look at me like this if you don't want me to have my ways with you." He said with a smirk. "Which ways?" She asked him but as soon as those words left her mouth she realized the meaning behind his statement. She gasped. He was just looking at her with a smirk. She ran to her room, closed the door, locked it and leaned on it to catch her breath. Had he hit his head somewhere. Was he drunk. She didn't know but he was a changed person and she liked it. No ,she loved him. She blushed at her thoughts. Her happy moments last when she realized that he would leave her sooner or later. She wouldn't allow him to trick her with his words. She thought bitterly.

After getting ready, she went to porch he was leaning at the car's front door. As soon as he heard her footsteps he looked at her and smiled. She plastered a fake smile on her face. He opened the passenger seat's door for her. She thanked him and slipped in. He closed the door and came to driving seat. He held her hand and kissed at the back of it. A chill ran down her spine. She blushed and looked away from his heated gaze. " You look beautiful,love." Again that name. The whole drive was silent. But it gave peace to her heart that she was searching for in the last five years. He held her hand throughout the way. Reaching at mall,he Parked the car,opened her door and intertwined their fingers. He led her in.

They walked into a ladies shop. A saleswoman came and welcomed them. She was smiling at Daniel seductively. "How can I help you." Was she asking about help in shopping only. "I want you to show me the most expensive and best dresses for my wife." Daniel's statement made her smile dropped off her face. She speedily went towards the dresses section. Mariposa wanted to laugh. "You look hot when you are all jealous." Daniel said into her ear. She looked down to hide my blushing cheeks. "I wasn't jeolus." She lied. "Sure." He mocked her.

She tried some dresses and Daniel bought them all saying he couldn't chose. She tried to convince him that she didn't want so many of them but he didn't listen. Same went with the shoes and other things. He even bought her jewellery, that too, much expensive. She bought gifts for Amelia ,Shane and Chase too. They had dinner together. They talked about their likes and dislikes. But suddenly his question made her, choke at food. She started to cough . "I hadn't have any first kiss." She told him. She didn't met his gaze but she knew, he was astonished. Thank God he didn't ask anything further.

She so badly wanted to ask his but she couldn't find the courage. They greeted grandma at the door. "You two look so perfect together. Made for each other." Grandma was beyond happy. They smiled at her. Mariposa's cheeks turned pink. "O my cute baby.! Now go and take rest." Grandma side hugged her and said. They both nodded. " We will go together. Be ready at 7 pm tomorrow. I have a meeting in the morning." Daniel informed as they reached at her room's door. She nodded. "Are you staying here." She asked. "Yes I am staying tonight, goodnight." He said. "Goodnight." She said and entered her room. Closing the door she mumbled under breath. "I hope we stay together forever Daniel. How will I save my heart from falling, for you again if you will act like this." She smiled and went to change. She had to take a good sleep to look good tomorrow.
