Commanders From Other Worlds

The victory of Azur Lane over Crimson Axis reformed the alliance, and they once again reaffirmed who their enemy really is. Still the reality is that they are still back-foot as they haven't been able to replace the commanders, and the training centers being disposed of by the sirens. Fearing the collapse of morale, the alliance extensively researched the wisdom cubes to try something what can only be read in fiction, summoning people from another world. After much perseverance, they succeeded in summoning, and securing capable commanders for each faction, except for the Eagle Union, whose future commander is summoned on an island somewhere west of the base. Will these commanders bring the coveted victory or will they also fall like their predecessors?

Island Hopping - 1

Now that I think about it, we've been moving around so much in the last few days and with the large movement of personnel from the Eagle Union mainland and the Azur Lane base to Wake and Guam, the enemy probably knows we're doing right now.

"We're not really discreet, are we?" I asked Andy who is currently landing one of the B29s she created, while simultaneously making the other fly out with the formation now heading south.

Apparently, she cannot create bombs so we still needed to load each one with munitions before they head out. Good thing is there are tons and tons of it here in Guam so we don't need to wait, but we're obviously going to run out quickly.

"It would not be surprising if they're prepared for our attack" She said as she prepares to create some escorts for the bombers.

"How many planes have you created so far?"

"5 bombers and 10 fighters. That's my limit since I still need to maintain them and have enough to defend myself if ever"

Not a helpful number for a war, but she does make sense. It's a loss if you get ambushed as you're running out of energy.

"So your only option is the equipment the Eagle Union provides"

She scratched her temple and averted her eyes. "Well.. About that. You see... You need control of an aircraft to be able to move it, right?"

I don't like where this is going

She continued with an obviously forced smile and liveliness "It turns out I can't really control anything aside from the ones I create hehe"

I sighed in somewhat of a disappointment. "So basically you're useless without magic"

She pouted. "Well that's just mean of you Sophia, I'm not entirely useless. Anway..."

She smirked and posed proudly. "Let me show you what I can do with these few aircraft"

I purposely ignore her to contact Enterprise's group I assigned to scout the area between Hornet's group just in case the enemy slipped past Hornet's forces and tried to flank them from behind.

They are currently about 70 kilometers behind Hornet's group making sure that the enemy doesn't have a chance to flank her sister's fleet from behind. Enterprise also reported that she sent scouts to the south, and east and found nothing out of the ordinary.

"That's good, continue being alert"

"Understood commander"

A few hours in and the group led by Hornet and Pennsylvania closed in on the nearest of the Caroline islands where they are immediately met with Siren aircraft and the mass produced destroyers, and cruisers.

"Alright everyone, Move as planned" Hornet ordered the group.

Hornet launched her planes along with Lexington, while Casablanca prepared for anti-submarine combat.

The battleships and cruisers led by Pennsylvania went on the offensive and fired the first shot.

The destroyers, led by Downes, went after the Siren destroyers making sure they don't become a threat to the fleet.

"Alright girls, let's finish these small fry quickly!" Downes ordered her crew.

The Eagle Union destroyers divided themselves in 2 groups of 3. Each will pick a Siren destroyer that they will surround. They will then take turns torpedoing it while the other 2 distract the ship by firing round after round.

They will then move on to the next after the enemy ship is clearly sinking.

Pennsylvania, and Maryland provided covering fire while West Virginia, and the New Orleans sisters rushed the opposing side using their current firepower advantage to wipeout the enemy before their bigger guns show up.

The dive and torpedo bombers attacked the undamaged enemy ships, trying to damage them as much at least. The fighters meanwhile took care of enemy fighters and scouted the area for the enemy carriers and battleships.

Their current battleplan, one of the handful Sophia crafted, is based on the assumption that the enemy has figured out their movements and be as aggressive and unpredictable as possible.

Take out their vanguard, find the main enemy fleet, and strike first.

"Enemy Submarines!" Casablanca warned "Downes's group be careful!"

She sent some of her planes to deal with the underwater threat releasing depth charges on the sub's position danger close to Downes's group.

The charges plunged into the water and detonated sending pillars of water into the air just as the destroyer group finished off the Siren destroyer.

"Wait! That was dangerous Casablanca!" Downes complained through the radio. To picture how close the explosions were, Downes's group got soaked as the water pillars crashed down on them.

"I potentially saved you so stop complaining!"

"How the heck did you even manage to find them while we're moving around here!?"

"Stop it you two" Hornet cut in. "Focus on your mission first. You can report it to the commander later"

"Hornet, did you find the main fleet?" Lexington asked.

"No luck here. How about you?"

"Nothing either"

Hornet is about to ask Andy, but she remembered that they have strict radio silence when it relates to Andy as Sophia wanted to keep which battlefield she supports a secret.

Hornet observed the battle and saw that they were about to wipe out the enemy vanguard here. Few of the remaining cruisers and destroyers are now getting hit on all sides by the girls, and their aircraft.

After finishing off the Siren ships in the area, all of them thought the same thing: This battle is too easy. The Sirens are definitely plotting something.

In order to put themselves at ease, Hornet and Lexington launched more aircraft to patrol their perimeters as they go further south-east to the first island they will liberate.
