Filial Piety

The weather was still cold but they could see the sun peaking out from the clouds. Lilian Mo remembered that the cold will disappear by midday and the temperature would go back to normal.

She went out and started making breakfast. Bringing out a small portable stove and a pot from the trunk, she started her work.

She ignored the gazes of the people from the gas station.

Lilian Mo opened the car and called for her two companions. She each gave them a bowl and a pair of chopsticks.

"Thank you for the food," they chorused as they sat together around the hot pot that Lilian Mo made and started eating with gusto.

Lilian Mo didn't eat much and allowed the other two to eat more. Ability users uses a lot of energy in their bodies. They need food to supply that energy.

Moreover, these two hadn't eaten a proper meal since lunch yesterday.

It was natural that they would have large appetites.

"Little girl. Ling. Remember what I told you." Lilian Mo whispered to them as she kept alert.

The two got her message and also raised their guards up.

"My Queen! The hot pot you made is so delicious!" Mu Qingqing said, chewing on meat with oil on her lips. Mizuki Rei who was just as hungry and was entranced by the taste of food also gave his own praises.

"Eat more," was Lilian Mo's only reply. So this was the feeling of raising two pigs.

Lilian Mo handed them an apple each that she got from the supplies on her car.

"An apple day keeps the doctor away." She said, biting on her own share.

The other survivors who couldn't hold it anymore and was attracted by the smell of good food became anxious.

A middle aged old man who was shivering from the cold glared at the three youngsters with envy.

Not only did this three have a car but they also have supplies and can eat good food. They were wearing thick coats except for one of them but they seem prepared.

He started to feel angry when he thought about this.

After not eating for a day, he was very irritable and moody. Seeing these three eating so leisurely just added more to his frustration.

When the three only stared at him and didn't answer, he felt like his words had made them feel scared of him so he began to grow bolder and sauntered forward.

"As youngsters, you should offer some of your food to these people! This is called filial piety and showing respect to elders! Quickly hand over those bowls so we could eat! Do you want people to die?! Look, some of the people here already froze to death but the three of you don't even care!"
