9. Honeymoon or Bussines Trip

Nadine waited for Adrian to have breakfast that morning before leaving for the villa she had rented.

But still she did not expect Adrian to have breakfast with her because in the past he rarely wanted to have breakfast with her.

She had almost finished half of her breakfast. And checked again the laptop that was beside her.

"You seem very busy."

"Hmmm.... I have to finish some work so I have time to check something..."

Her words were cut off when she found out who she was talking to. She looked at the man in front of her who was full of questions.

"Adrian.... Good morning."

She tried to smile as warmly as possible to greet Adrian.

"What are you doing here?"

Adrian was a little annoyed by Nadine's question. Twice she asked Adrian about it.

"You seem don't like having breakfast with me, I'd better have breakfast somewhere else."

Adrian was about to leave but Nadine immediately stopped him.

"Wait... Wait... I'd rather have breakfast together..."

Adrian sat back down and got ready to start his breakfast.

"I'm just surprised you want to have breakfast with me. That's all. In the past you never wanted to have breakfast with me. So I'm surprised that you want to have breakfast with me these two days."

Adrian looks confused when he hears Nadine's words.

"Past?"

Nadine's question reminded her that she had talked too much about the past.

"Aah.... I mean... Seeing you hate me so much there's no way you'd want to have breakfast with me."

Adrian sighed hearing Nadine's answer.

"It's just a normal breakfast... After all the maids have prepared it, I have to respect them by eating what they have prepared."

Nadine remembered something from the past. In order to satisfy Adrian, she asks her maids to cook luxurious meals every day.

She often scolds her maids in front of Adrian when they didn't prepare Adrian's favorite menu or sees Adrian looking not interested in his food.

Especially when Adrian didn't want to have breakfast with her, she didn't hesitate to throw away all the food on her table.

"Haaah... I was so blinded by love."

Nadine mumbled while looking at the menu on her dining table that morning. So much different from what she always prepared for Adrian.

On her table there was only the usual breakfast menu she ate and nothing special.

"Nadine? Are you talking to me?"

Adrian made sure if Nadine was talking to him because he didn't really hear Nadine's muttering. But again Nadine changed the subject.

"You've made my two old maids blush to hear that you value them so much."

Nadine smiled faintly while pointing at her maids who looked embarrassed. Especially after Adrian turned to them.

"Ha ha.... Thank you for preparing breakfast for us."

The maids were surprised and only replied to Nadine with a smile.

Anna's name appeared on Nadine's cell phone. Without thinking she immediately accepted the call.

"Morning cutie?"

Hearing Nadine calling her assistant with a strange nickname Adrian spit out his drink in shock.

"Huh? Are you okay Adrian?"

Nadine glanced at Adrian who was trying to catch his breath, she felt deja vu with the sight she saw. Ignoring Anna who is angry because of the nickname that Nadine gave.

"It's okay. I'm okay..."

Nadine then focused on her call again.

"Oh you're going there? Please take care of it according to my request, okay?"

Nadine thinks for a little while and asks Adrian who is just starting his breakfast.

"How's Marie doing?"

Adrian stopped his breakfast for a while and responded to Nadine.

"Auntie woke up last night. The doctor said she could be moved next week."

Nadine thought again when she heard Adrian's answer.

"Can Benjamin go to Royal Medical the day after tomorrow?"

This time it was Adrian who looked thoughtful.

"I think there won't be any problem. Auntie is much better."

Nadine looks happy to hear that and back to her call again.

"Adrian said no problem Ann... He will be there with you. Oh yes, did you get the documents I asked for?"

Nadine looks serious talking about the documents but her face immediately turns disappointed to hear Anna's answer.

"Haaaah... I'll ask dad myself after I get home from my honeymoon. But please find out about the other cases."

Nadine then hung up the phone and looked back at Adrian who was enjoying his breakfast.

"Adrian?"

Adrian immediately looked at Nadine who sounded serious.

"You know who manages Miller's resort finances?"

Adrian looked questioningly at Nadine.

"Aunt Marie is the one who takes care of it..."

Nadine was a little surprised to hear Adrian's answer but she still tried to stay calm.

"Why?"

Nadine did not immediately answer Adrian's question.

"Nadine?"

Hearing her name being called, Nadine immediately turned her gaze to Adrian.

"Ah.. It's okay, there are some things I want to ask. Father needs some data to report to our finance department."

Adrian seemed satisfied with Nadine's answer.

"You can ask aunty but after she is completely healed. I don't want her to be stressed."

Nadine just smiled faintly.

"Of course...."

Nadine immediately finished the rest of her breakfast and returned to focus on her work. But one of the maids approached her.

"Miss... Jim is ready now."

Nadine saw Adrian who had just finished his breakfast.

"Please tell Jim to wait a little."

After the maid left, Nadine closed her laptop and started talking again with Adrian.

"Adrian? Are you ready?"

Adrian who just finished his breakfast just nodded. The two of them immediately went to get ready.

Jim tried to recount the suitcases in front of him. And looked behind Nadine who had just come out from her house followed by Adrian from behind.

"Why Jim? Is there a problem?"

Nadine was a little worried seeing the confused Jim.

"Where's your suitcase?"

Nadine immediately pointed at the two small suitcases behind Jim.

"Oh... Then where is Mr. Adrian's?"

Adrian did the same thing with Nadine which made Jim even more confused.

"Just this?"

Nadine laughed at the confused Jim.

"Of course.... I didn't want to bother you to lift it so I brought a small suitcase."

Jim looks blushed by Nadine's new attitude. He was still not used to Nadine who liked to joke. Adrian also looks surprised to hear Nadine's joke.

"Are you sure this is enough?"

Nadine casually replied.

"Sure... I'll come here often when I have work. So I don't have to carry a lot of stuff. Oh yeah, don't tell dad that I'm going back and forth here often."

Nadine stepped into the car and prepared to get in to leave.

"You're going on your honeymoon there, aren't you?"

Nadine opened the door and smiled glancing at Jim and Adrian who were still standing in front of the door.

"Ehmm... This is just a business trip Jim... Let's go. We have a long way to go."

Jim looked confused and looked at Adrian for an explanation.

"Just do as she asks Jim."

Jim was getting more and more confused.

"When your discussion is over? We should leave now."

Hear Nadine's words from the car window. Jim and Adrian immediately rushed to leave.

"Jim, please leave the car at the villa later. I already ordered a taxi for you to come back."

Adrian and Jim who were in the front seat were shocked and looked at each other.

"Let Adrian use the car. You can pick me up with the other car."

Nadine, who is still busy working on her laptop, ignores Adrian and Jim's confused faces.

"I can take a taxi. I don't need your car."

"Just think that you borrowed it. You can use it however you want. Wouldn't that be very efficient."

Without looking at Adrian, Nadine answered casually.

"I don't need your...."

Nadine quickly cut off Adrian's words.

"I'll lend it to Marie if you don't want to. So that you can freely visit her and take care of her needs."

Nadine's sentence succeeded in making Adrian silent and making Jim even more awkward.

Jim, who was still confused by the behavior of his young miss, whispered something to Adrian.

"Mr. Adrian... This is Miss's favorite car... She never allowed anyone to use it except me. Please take good care of it."

Adrian nodded slowly, as if he remembered Benjamin's words when he called Nadine his sugar mom.

After almost two hours of traveling, they arrived at the villa. Like Nadine's orders, Jim returned home without the car.

"I knew you would refuse so I purposely asked Jim to drop us off and leave the car here."

Nadine handed the key to Adrian who was still reluctant to accept it.

"Come on... I'm not asking for anything in return."

Adrian immediately received Nadine's car keys and followed Nadine into the villa. There, they were greeted by the owner directly. The owner took them looking around the villa for a while.

Nadine did not choose the wrong villa for their honeymoon. It was seen from Adrian's face that he looked fascinated when they entered the villa. Especially when they are invited to see the garden behind the villa. Adrian was like a child who had just seen an amusement park for the first time. His eyes sparkled looking at the lake and also the mountain range behind the villa.

"Thank you for being willing to do an interview with the traveling magazine."

Nadine just smiled and glanced at Adrian who didn't seem interested in Nadine's conversation.

"I'll leave the key. Have a great honeymoon."

"You're welcome."

The villa owner immediately left the two of them.

"Adrian?"

Adrian was still busy enjoying the view in front of him not hearing Nadine's call. Nadine smiled again, because Adrian's expression was exactly the same as before when they entered the villa in the past.

"Adi.."

Adrian immediately glared at Nadine. Seeing Adrian upset, Nadine chuckled and explained why she called him.

"I still have work. Someone will deliver lunch later. I will be in the study room. You can use the main room. You can enjoy the villa. Or if you want to go out you can go out. Do as you please, just be there for the interview later."

Adrian still doesn't believe Nadine.

"You're really going to work here?"

Nadine smirked at Adrian.

"Oh... You want to do adult things then?"

Adrian was immediately annoyed to hear Nadine's words. And in a hurry immediately dragged his suitcase to one of the rooms.

"Your room is on the right, Adrian..."

Adrian glared at Nadine again.

"Do your job and don't mind my business."

Nadine chuckled and immediately headed to the study room. She chose to use the small room next to the study room because it would be convenient for her.

When she was about to start her work again, the view from outside her study window made her remember the past.

Now she leaves her car there for Adrian to use. In the past she used to tell Jim to go home and even hid Adrian's cell phone so he couldn't order a taxi or call outsiders.

At that time she repeatedly tried to seduce Adrian to be with her. She had prepared everything to spend their first night in the villa. Starting from a romantic dinner to a sexy appearance but all of them have failed.

"Hmmm.... I was like a slut back then."

Nadine chuckled as she remembered her stupidity that night. She completely abandoned her pride to seduce her husband. And all her hard work ended when Adrian said,

"I'd rather enjoy the view behind the villa than enjoy our first night."

Adrian locked himself in the room that Nadine's using now and didn't want to see her. He's only going out to eat. And the rest of the time he spent in the room.

"Hmmmm..... The view here is better than the master bedroom. It's good that he chose this room."

After feeling quite nostalgic with her past she returned to continue her work.

Adrian looks happy doing a video call with his aunt who is still lying weak in the hospital.

"It seems that you really like the place that was chosen by your wife."

Adrian's face turned grim and his smile slowly disappeared. Benjamin, who was beside Marie instantly knew Adrian's mood had changed. He immediately changed their conversation.

"Adrian, please show me the villa you live in."

His expression looked better than before. He immediately got out of bed and went around showing the atmosphere of the villa. Benjamin and Marie looked very interested to see it.

"I don't see Nadine anywhere.... Where is she?"

Marie's words made him fall silent again.

The sound of the bell prevented Adrian from answering Marie's question and forced him to end the call.

After that he headed to the study room to call Nadine.

Adrian shuddered when he entered because the air conditioner in the room was very cold.

He stepped towards Nadine who was not at all bothered by Adrian's arrival.

Nadine still doesn't respond to Adrian at all. Her hands grip her arm that she used as a headrest tighter. She looks cold.

"She's really going to freeze to death. It will be a problem if she can't attend the interview."

Adrian raised the temperature of the air conditioner in the room then went out to his room. Soon he brought a blanket.

"Ugh...."

Adrian just shook his head looking at Nadine who repeatedly mumbled. When Adrian covered Nadine, suddenly Nadine's hand pulled Adrian's shirt.

"Wait.... I'm sorry... Mommy is sorry...."

Confused by Nadine who suddenly pulled him, Adrian tried to wake Nadine up.

"Nadine?"

Nadine pulled Adrian's shirt even more.

"Don't go.... Mommy is sorry dear....."

Adrian panicked to see Nadine who suddenly cried but still closed her eyes.

"Nadine! Wake up!"

He shook Nadine's body but no use, Nadine was still babbling and didn't open her eyes.

"My baby boy.... Please don't go..."
