Comeet Legacy

[Hello, Levi] The synthetic, automated voice came again. Born a sickling and grew that way, Levi was never ready to bear the consequences and responsibilities of being the host to the construct that burrowed into his neck. Not only did it cure him from his lethal illness, it also granted him extreme abilities. With schemes and lies holding up what's left of the planet, Levi has to suffer loss, anger and betrayal in his endeavour to avenge the murder of his father. But the system doesn't only want Levi to satisfy his own anger-driven desires. It wants Levi to save the remaining population from another Ròkks raid and build a new civilization. What happens when this new intergalactic civilization start falling apart for the same reasons that once pushed him? How much more people—or rather, sentients of different anatomy—lose their lives before balance is restored? //: Every tag is or will be present in the novel:\\

Earth's Fall- Day 7681- 11:49PM- Greyson Corp., Foxriver, Namib, North Wing.

"Children?" An elderly man's voice asked.

"Not exactly children children. Kind of the teenage age." Another voice, clearer than before, emerged. The two men were lounging in a glamorous office suite. The first man stood with his arms crossed behind his back, gazing out at the bustling city night through the transparent glass floor-to-ceiling window. The other man, meanwhile, reclined on a sofa, sipping from a cup of wine.

"And why is this so?" The older one asked.

The younger man on the sofa took a few sips, "Apparently, it turns out anyone above the age of 19 or 20 can't withstand the power. Their vitals are too old for it. But 13 to 19? Perfect!" He threw his arms in the air, almost spilling his drink.

The man at the window sighed and walked to his executive swivel chair before sitting down slowly. He crossed his fingers and placed it on the desk. "So we drop the responsibility of the world into the hands of goofy teenagers?"

"We have no choice," the other said, stretching his arms as he gave cheers. After sipping for some time, he spoke up. "This wouldn't have been a problem if Parker wasn't selfish."

"I thought we promised not to speak of that again?" The older man asked putting on his reading glasses while arranging some desk files.

"Why not?" The other acted drunk like he had taken five cups. "It's not like he's alive to hear it."

"Robert, you were his goddamn friend!" The older man stated commandingly. "And only if you're feeling bad and having second thoughts, I don't see why you should talk about it." He looked over his glasses, "Are you?"

The other sat up and arranged himself before answering blankly, "No."

"Good."

Levi spun around and asked, "Who's that?" However, no answer came. As a precaution, he quickly glanced at the doorknob, measuring his distance from it in case anything were to happen.

[Your heart is running, why's that?] The voice came again. Levi backed up and crashed into the table of body care supplements behind him. What the hell? He thought.

"Who the hell is there? This is not funny!" Levi commanded. If this was another sly prank, he wouldn't take it lightly. With no answer, he shouted, "I said, who the fuck is there?!"

[I'll advice restraining from swear words, they disrupt your mental health] The female voice ringed once more. Levi quickly turned immediately he heard, he could swear it came from the wall behind him.

He walked backwards and bumped into his bed, he picked up his shirt and tried to put it on as quickly as possible.

[Where are you going?] The automated voice spoke again.

Levi stopped halfway while wearing his shirt. He paused and took a slow, conscientious look around his room to make sure he wasn't going crazy. No no no, he was surely going crazy. He hastily finished putting on his shirt and headed for the door. Maybe his brain was cramped and some fresh evening breeze would help clear his mind.

As Levi headed for the door the voice spoke again.

[Stop]. Surprised at his obedience, Levi actually stopped.

[Look at the mirror]. Levi slowly retrieved his hand from the knob and cautiously faced the mirror.

"Ho- Ho- Holy shit," Levi managed to mouth, his eyes widening as he looked at his reflection in the mirror. He saw a monster, a horrifying entity. His eyes were glowing blue, and blue veins spreading across his face. He watched as black scales slowly covered his neck, adorned with more blue vein

[It's okay] The robotic voice said to him [We can complete our bond now. I am you and you are me]

Levi breathed heavily, his mouth agape as if he were having a cardiac arrest. He slowly raised his trembling palms and touched his face. The bulging veins felt real to his touch. He reached for his neck and realized he couldn't feel his skin. What he felt wasn't skin!

Levi quickly removed his face. "No, no ,no no no no no-" He stroked his hair backwards, "No, you, you! Are. Not. Real!" He said the words singly while pointing at his reflection in the mirror.

[I can assure you I am a hundred percent real. In fact, I used to have a physical body until I dug into your neck]

Memories of the day before began flooding in, "Holy shit," Levi said in realization as he stared into nothing.

He began shaking his head, trying to avoid seeing his monstrous reflection.

[You are making this quite difficult Levi, stop trying to force me out of your conscience] The voice said. [If you keep up like this, you won't be able to unlock your true self]

"What do you mean by my true self?!" Levi snapped. "My true self is Levi Parker, the lackey kid with the lead syndrome!" He looked at his palms, "What are you doing to me?" He quickly dashed out of the room, crashing into a maiden moving with a cart.

[Levi, where are you going? No one has to see you that way] The robotic voice commanded.

But Levi kept on moving irregularly, staggering as he went.

[Levi! If you don't stop suppressing me, I assure you, I'll take over!]
