Chapter 61

I knew Jason would go looking for me in my house so I went to Lena's place instead.

Lena looked surprised to see me.

"Are you skipping work?"

"I got a free day. You got a pot of coffee, I could really use it right now"

"I just made a fresh brew"

She poured me a fresh cup and added sugar and milk.

My hand shook as I grabbed the coffee, Lena noticed and frowned.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I attempted something dangerous and my nerves haven't stabilized yet"

"What did you do?"

"Escaped the Mafia" Lena eyes widened.

She strode the window and slightly parted the curtains to look outside.

"It's fine Lena, they won't find me easily"

"Are you crazy? How could you do that? Mafia Jason will be be mad at you, I hope he doesn't punish you for escaping and me for housing you after your escape"

"You'll be fine Lena, Jason isn't like that"

She opened her fridge and pulled out a large circular tin can.
