Chapter 10 - Rescue

Argus continuous hunting paid off. He only rest when he's out of stamina so he killed many monsters. He also didn't waste that much time finding enemies since he's in a bit deeper in the forest where monsters is a bit abundant.

'Let's head back.'(Argus)

Argus walks back in the direction of the North Gate.

Tap Tap Tap Tap

Many footsteps can suddenly be heard by him. He ignored it and continue walking but the footsteps are getting nearer and nearer. Suddenly Argus heard a shout.

"No... Please help us! Someone wants to kill us!"

"Help!!"

"No... Hurry someone might heard them."

"Run faster... The boss will be mad at us if they now we've failed to catch this kids and alert the people."

'Kids?'(Argus)

Argus heard the kids shouting. His brows furrowed. He immediately run on that direction and observed the situation.

He jump at the top of the tree to see what's happening then he saw two children which have exhausted face that was running while five men are following behind.

They can catch the children within a few seconds if Argus didn't do something. As soon as he saw that it's not a trap, Argus immediately brought his spear and started dashing. The distance between him and the kidnappers are 20 meters which Argus can easily close the gap with his current stats.

It looks like the five men did not notice him. Argus decided not to kill them without knowing what is happening. Argus immediately wears his mask and a shrouding cloak and immediately dash on the kid's direction.

"What's that?"

"An enemy, quick attack him!"

Argus was faster though. Using his spear, he pierced the legs and arms of the enemies to decapitate them.

"Ahhh my legs!!"

"Ahhhhh! My Arms"

Argus was already near the 2 kids. He runs pass the kids and catch up to the kidnappers.

"Quick let's escape."

Argus then pierce their other limbs.

"F*ck my other leg."

"Arghh."

"No, we can't escape."

Before they could say anything Argus was already near them. Using the long handle of the spear, he knocked the 5 kidnappers unconscious. From wearing the mask to the current situation just 30 seconds past.

The 2 kids was shocked on what happen. Not long after the 2 kids come back to their senses.

"Mr. Saviour thanks for saving us but please save the other children from those bad guys."

"Yes mister... Please save them."

"Calm down first and tell me what happen."(Argus)

Argus then bring out a bottled water for them to drink. The two immediately took it and drink water. They became calm after drinking.

"So what happened to you two?"(Argus)

"We are a resident of a small village a bit far from where we are. We are just playing hide in seek outside of our village then those guys kidnapped us."

"Then they tied us up inside a cave where we see other children like us. Many of them are also tied up. Many bad guys are also inside punching and kicking those kids who was shouting."

"Both of us are scared and also shouted so they also lunch a punch and kick us."

Sob... Sob... Sob...

"Then a very scary person came... All the bad guys behaves properly in front of him. That scary person is releasing Crimson mist on his body that makes us really afraid. He said that he will start a ritual this evening."

"All the bad guys started to prepare something and no one left to guard us. One of the children has a small knife hidden in his necklace. We use that to cut our ropes and all of us plans to escape."

"But the bad guys caught us and we started running separately. The others have been caught. We think that we will also be caught. Luckily you came to save us mister."

"Mister please also save the others."

The two kids started crying again. Argus let them cry since they are still kids. He also believe them since his intuition is telling him they're not lying.

'A crimson mist? Could it be... Abyssal Race?'(Argus)

Like someone heard him. He received request from the system. The system will easily give quest if it is related to the official race or it is about the destruction of the Vesmir world.

Abyssals... A race that bring only catastrophe to any race. All the beings in Vesmir World hates Abyssal Race. The Abyssal Race is trying to invade the Vesmir World. When there is Abyssal in a place a killings and destruction will also follow. Some of the resident in Vesmir are already submitted to them.

They will inject the abyssal blood to those residence which will enhance their strength. They are called Abyssal Servants.

The race that submitted to the Abyssals will be injected by Abyssal Bloodline. The lower the percentage and urity of bloodline in their body the more they emit miasma. The bloodline can only be injected in one conditions, they should reach Mana Core Forging Realm as a minimum since the bloodline transferring is needed to be injected to the core so the bloodline will spread equally.

The miasma is harmful when inhaled by a Mortal Class and Unawakened. Seeing that there is no harmful thing that happened to the 2 kids. They probably saw the Abyssal Servant from a distance.

'This is troublesome... What's an Abyssal Servant doing in this place. What ritual is its trying to do. Should I ask for help? Who will believe me though. If I explain it to them maybe the ceremony has already started or worst finished. I can't risk the life of the kids.'(Argus)

Argus decided to act on his own. He's not a hero or anything. He just not want that their victim was children. And looking at the reward, he is a bit tempted. He ask the two kids where is the direction of the cave and let them ask for help in the Country. Argus, immediately sprinted to the direction the kid pointed at after scorting them near the North Gate.

{Astelle's POV}

"Why do we have to meet those geezer's Kelvin? It so tiring to interact with them."(Astelle)

"Sister what are you saying. They're grandpa's acquaintance and he ask us to meet them for us since he has still something to do back home."(Kelvin)

"Anyway let's go outside the North Gate. I heard that there is a place not far from the entrance where there is many fireflies. I want to see it."(Astelle)

"But..."(Kelvin)

"Let's go! I acquiesce when you say we have important meeting to grandpa's acquaintance. It's your turn now to follow mine. Another thing, it's for both of us to relax. I know that you're the studious type and I am the carefree one but once in a while you should also go out. Follow me."(Astelle)

A smile appeared on Kelvin's face.

'You are really kind sister.'(Kelvin)

Kelvin then followed. Astelle and Kelvin reach the place she was talking about. It really does has many fireflies and the scene was beautiful.

"It looks like we are being surrounded by stars. So beautiful and this was amazing."(Astelle)

"You're right this place is beautiful although not as beautiful as the places we've seen before it has also its own charm."(Kelvin)

The two are relaxing and enjoying the view in front of them while sitting on the grassland. They are also other people in that location mostly couples and kids. They have come to watch this fireflies but their gaze was on the twins.

Being surrounded by fireflies, their gorgeous appearance enhanced greatly especially Astelle. She looks like a goddess being surrounded by stars. The male and even couples eyes focus on her. No one tried to make a move since they thought it would be a blasphemy to them.

The twins on the other hand just minding their own business and ignore the people's look. They are already used to the admiration or even the jealousy or negative looks others are giving them. But that moment didn't last when Astelle heard something.

"Help! Please help us"

Astelle immediately got up and run on the direction of the person asking for help. Kelvin knowing his sister immediately followed her. The other people also notice this and also followed but they are slower since most of them are Mortal Class.

Astelle then saw a two kids running and panting. The kids also saw Astelle and was glad. They immediately tell what Argus asked them to say.

"Sister, sister please help the mister in saving the kidnapped children. A man that is releasing Crimson miasma is trying to start a ritual with those kidnap children. We two both luckily escaped thanks to the mister but he hurriedly run on the direction of the cave after escorting us here."

"Please help him save the other children... They are too many bad guys there other than that man."
