Chapter 1: Argus Orpheus

"Sigh, it's already the time, huh."

A young man murmured. The young man has black hair and has a dark eyes. The young man's name is Argus Orpheus. Argus was inside a store he is currently working at, specifically at the cashier. He was thinking of the event that will happen tomorrow while waiting for a customer to come. There are students currently talking inside the store.

"Tomorrow is already the awakening ceremony. I'm excited on what class i would become."

"I hope I awaken a combat class."

"Me too. I want to be a swordsman."

"I want to become a healer."

"I want to be a mage. I will blow up those monsters and make money. Hahaha."

Hearing those cliche talks Argus Orpheus then glance at the window to his right. As you have guess the world of Argus is a fantasy world called Vesmir. There are many races in this world like Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Angels, Demons, Mermaids, Demi-human, Beastman, Etc.

Currently there is one 7 big continent on Vermis. The 7 known continents are named:

Alfur Continent, where the fairy race lives.

Himmel Continent, where the sky bone race lives.

Salvax Continent, for the beast man race lives.

Zentroa Continent, which was the central continent. Almost all the races can be found in here.

Falas Continent, the biggest continent, where ferocious beasts, magical beast, and monster race lives.

Gevaar Continent, the last continent and also the most mysterious because according to what he knows, it is a sealed continent.

The position of the continent with the Zentroa at the center, Alfur at the north of Zentroa. Salvax at the west of Zentroa. Himmel at the south of Zentroa. Falas at the east of Zentroa. Gevaar as the most eastern part of the world beside the Falas. Each of the continent is divided by wide ocean, which was very dangerous because of its raging waters and the beasts that living in there.

Argus is currently in the central continent, which is the Zentroa Continent. The world of Vesmir is not a peaceful world, contrary it was being invaded by a race that wants to cause destruction to the whole world and all the races which was the Abyssal Race. There also race conflict like the conflict of Angels and Demons. The conflict of Angel and Demons.

Every race in the Vesmir World will undergo in an Awakening Ceremony when they turned 15 every end month of the year. It is conducted to every school at the end of the year of their Highschool life.

[Next Day]

Currently Argus and his classmates are next in line to the Awakening Ceremony that will happen.

Argus is one of the loner in the class, since he does not interact much with his classmates. If there are no teacher, either he sleeps or he reads novels. His classmates also do not care about him since they are also wary of Argus. Argus although lazy, is one of the top 5 students in their school. Another thing is that, he is good at fighting. So no one wants to mess with this loner.

He beats up everyone that has not awakened and even those low level non-combat class awakeners. Argus is strong although still not awakened.

"Yo, Argus... Why are you making that bored face although we will be next to undergo awakening."

When Argus heard that voice, he looks at the person who spoke. A young man of his age slowly approach him. The young man has black hair and possess a dark eyes like him. The young man has a very handsome face.

"Because I'm bored. Why are they so excited, it's just a ceremony."

This was Argus friend name Rex Obscurite.

"Come on brother, at least show excited or nervous face. We are undergoing an Awakening. It's an special event and you are here just sitting on your chair and looking outside with a bored face like an old man."(Rex)

"Stop nagging me. Should I be excited on an Awakening? We are all gonna awaken anyway."(Argus)

"I know that but if you awaken a combat class you will not be bored again am I right? The only reason you are bored in school everyday since they only thought as some basic knowledges and basic martial arts. That will be change after awakening though since we can start fighting which you love, you battle maniac and we can also enter an Awakener Academy which was more interesting than highschool."(Rex)

Like Rex says, Argus is a battle maniac. Well, not really. He was just force because of circumstances. Though, it really relieves his boredom. That's also the reason why he is loner since he basically grows up in the street where they are so many gangsters and such.

Argus just smirks slightly when he heard his friend. A teacher then entered there room to call them for the Awakening Ceremony.

The students was called up on a platform one by one. There is a white or orb in the platform that is being activated by a Priest Class. The student just need to put their hand on the orb and the Priest will do the rest. The orb is called an Awakener Orb, as the name says it used to Awaken the person who is touching it. Anyone can be awakened by the orb but their future life depends on what class they awaken.

Their are 3 category of classes:

1. Battle Class: a class that can hunt monsters and as the name says a class for fighting. Only 10% of the awakeners get this class.

Examples: Swordsman, Mage, Marksman, Summoner, Assassin, Warrior, Healer, Priest.

2. Auxillary Class: a class that supports the Battle Class and as the name says they provide assistance in the battlefield. Only 5% of the awakeners get this class.Whike they do not have any offensive skills for their class. They can still learn one on skill books and can hunt monsters to level up and become strong like the Battle Class.

Examples: Blacksmith, Alchemist, Array Master, etc.

3. Common Class/Mortal Class: this class is not related to battles but they are needed in maintaining the society. They are the weakest class or you can also call them mortals since they cannot level up and they are not much different from a normal being without the system. 85% of the whole population consist of this category. Unlike the Auxilliary class, the skills they possessed will be their class skills and they can not learn the skills from skill books.

Examples: Merchant, Cook, Builder, Gardener, etc.

The Classes also was also divided into four rank which was, Basic Class, Elite Class, Special Class and lastly Unique Class. Depending on your rank the free attributes each one receive if they level up vary.

Back to the awakening ceremony. Most of Argus's classmates awakened a basic class, only a small part awakened a Auxillary Class. And very small students have awakened battle Class.

"Argh why does I became a gardener. I want to be a mage!"

"I became a cook, it's not a battle Class but I love cooking so it's okay. I'm gonna start a business!"

"Wow! I'm a blacksmith, a money making class."

"I'm a warrior hahahaha... I'm gonna hunt monsters from now on."

Many are disappointed but there are also students who is satisfied in their class. The teacher then called the next student.

"Rex Obscurite"

"Look the only son of the current head of Obscurite Clan."

"One of the 4 great clans of the human race."

"Ah Rex-sama you're so handsome."

"Tsk, why does the only son of a big family enters this lowly school. Isn't it better to enter those prestigious highschools?"

"Shh... Do not talk loudly or he can hear you."

"So what if he can hear us. The only reason he enters this school was because of that person was entering this school."

The students starts talking to each other when they hear Rex's name. The students then look at Argus's direction. Argus felt they gazed and he lazily looks at them. The students hurriedly avoids his gaze and murmured to each other.

"They said that he help Rex when there was a time he was ganged up in an alley. Argus happened to be walking at that part at that time and coincidentally."

"After that Rex approach him everyday to make friends but Argus only ignored him."

"It was so funny at that time since Rex was looks like wooing a girl just to be ignored hahaha"

"Yeah Argus does not even care about his background which was really amazing."

"His persistence paid off though since Argus looks like fed up on his antics so he reluctantly accept his friendship."

"After that they became the Twin Devils in our school since they basically mop all the students and gangsters that target them."

The students then talk about the history of the friendship of both of them. Rex hearing the murmurs of their classmates showed a smug look while looking at Argus. Argus on the other hand looks annoyed on his friend's look.

"Don't give me that look and wish me luck."(Rex)

"Yes, yes just go already."(Argus)

Looking at his friend's reaction Rex just smiled and he head to the platform. The Priest greeted Rex politely and he ask him to put his hand on the orb. Rex the put his hand and the Priest started activating the orb.

After a while the whole platform darkens. Everyone felt like their a shart think beside their necks and they felt afraid. Not long the darkness receded.

"Oh my goodness what's that, it's too scary!"

"I felt that my life is hanging on thread."

"A phenomenon, a special phenomenon!"

"Uni-unique Class!! Rex Obscurite awakened a Unique Class!"

The Priest was also shocked and afraid at the phenomenon that happened. Even he who experience many battles felt like he would die a while ago if he move. Everytime an unknown phenomenon happened during an awakening it means that the class that the person awaken is a unique class. However the orb canot tell which and what class the person awaken because it is beyond its power. Taking a deep breath to calm his mind. He readily announced the result of Rex's awakening.

"Rex Obscurite, Unique Class Awakener."
