Prologue: The New World!

"Take the pen, pick up the book. Create your desired traits and embrace them." There were no tricks, there were no hidden meanings. The entity's voice thundered like lightening but caressed Hitoshi' ears and mind like a soft symphony.

Hitoshi jumped at the initial vibrations. The reverberating and weird way it tickled his brain, it was overstimulating in a way.

However, he quickly recovered and simply stared between the ever-unchanging entity and the unmovable book. Upon the clean white sheets, under where his name had been written, was a new... Sub-category.

[TRAITS.]

And as the entity had stated, there was indeed a pen just right of the book, in the spare bit of space on the lectern.

'This is so stupid...' He thought to himself. 'Ever since I got here it's been nothing but back-to-back bullshit!' He roars inwardly, outwardly frowning as he picked up the pen.

It was a regular black everyday pen. Nothing special.

Twirling it in between his fingers, Hitoshi' frown loosens, and he shrugs with a sigh. "Whatever... Maybe I'll get lucky and get out of this place if I play along." Muttering to himself, he leans against the lectern, the pens tip just above the paper as he brainstorms some... Traits.

It didn't take long for his pen to get to moving. After all, this was a silly little escape route for him. He just wanted to get out of there and be anywhere but in that same hallway and room.

...

About another hour or so passes and Hitoshi finally puts the pen down. Looking at the eight traits he had decided to write down. 'Man... This was really all I could think of... I probably should've watched and read a little more anime before I died or whatever.'

Shaking his head, he didn't actually have a problem with what he wrote. After all, it was a rather good quality of traits.

In his opinion.

His moment of relaxation was over as the room once again began to vibrate. The book on the lectern shook violently before it closed and disappeared out of thin air, only for a much, much larger version to appear in the hands of the Entity on the throne.

Hitoshi' eyes snapped at the new development, his heart in an anxious race. The empty, gleaming eyes of the entity simply gazed at the page before shifting its sight towards Hitoshi.

"Granted. You are dismissed." Hitoshi was expecting a whole monologue. A conversation at least about what would transpire from this point onward- But all he got was the dismissive tone of the Entity and the blackening of his sight along with the loss of his consciousness.

TOKYO, JAPAN. 2135.

At the heart of Tokyo, lies the Central Hospital. The place where more life leaves the building than when they first entered.

All within the building were employees, nurses, doctors, patients and civilians all roaming around like ants in an ant hill. Nurses and doctors pranced chaotically while the civilians and patients simply enjoyed their days.

In one particular room, a wedded couple is experiencing the greatest and most important event a couple could ever fathom.

A nurse with silky, gray hair that mimicked the waves of the ocean, looked sternly at the open exit for the baby inside.

Her green, emerald eyes glinted with a mysterious light seeing the head of the baby peak through. Letting out a small breath of air, she positioned her gloved hands carefully underneath the baby's head and spoke-

"I see his head! Just a couple more big pushes and he'll be right out!" She encouraged. The woman on the bed had dark, bronze skin that shivered under the cold breeze that permeated the room.

Her long, black, loose locs highlighted with a burnt blonde laid flat against the pillow. Her hand was in her husbands, a tall, broad-shouldered man that had short, messy black hair, a thinning beard and two, stern maroon eyes- But right now, his gaze was softer than ever as he looked down at the mother of his child.

His grip tightened around hers, his smile shaky as his gaze swept between his fiancé' face, and the nurses at her other end.

"Come on, love... You can do it!" He voiced his own words of encouragement; in response his wife groaned in pain and gave him an appreciative squeeze as she pushed with all she had.

The nurse gasped and retracted her hands slowly from under the covers, her eyes trained on something within her arms.

"Congratulations, Mrs. and Mr. Sato he's a healthy young boy!"

The father tried his best to hide his excitement and anxiousness, the mother on the other hand, was doing much worse.

"L-Let me see him..." She requested through panted breaths. The nurse and her helper quickly got busy cleaning up the baby and he was wrapped within seconds, already being handed over to his mother.

The newborn didn't make any noise, something that his father had picked up on immediately. Never taking his eyes of his wife and his son, he spoke towards the nurses,

"Babies usually cry after birth, right? Why is he not crying? Could something be wrong?" His question brought a small, knowing, and reassuring smile to the nurse's face, and all she had for him was a few words.

"Usually. But it's not rare for a newborn not to cry. If you'd like, we can go through some test for him- "Her suggestion was immediately cut off by the mother.

"Take him for tests." Glancing over to her husband after her pause, she continued, "Rather be safe than sorry, right?" She asked. He nodded with a smile.

"Can I come along? I don't want him to leave my sight just yet." Reaching a hand over towards his son, the dark-skinned baby just gazed at him and his actions with a stoic expression, something that kind of unnerved the father.

The nurse simply hummed and nodded for him to come along.

'So~ Reincarnation? Uh... Not quite what I was expecting but I guess I can get behind this...'

'But it's so damn bright!'

Groaning internally, Hitoshi simply lets out a small baby breath of acceptance and lays on his back, facing the bright light above. The blanket he was in was warm, which was enough for him to be satisfied.

The nurses continued to do their routinely check up for about a couple hours. Hitoshi' father was there the entire time, watching over him and the process making sure the nurses didn't do anything they weren't supposed to.

Not that he would know, but he trusted in his instincts.

By the next day, Hitoshi had officially been named. It wasn't a surprise for him when he coincidentally kept his old name. He was astonished at her pulchritude appearance.

His dad wasn't anything spectacular, but he was surprised seeing that his father was a native Japanese man. It was much like his other life, except for the fact the roles are switched.

'Huh, my mom was Japanese in my old life... This is pretty cool.' He hums to himself in his cradle. His mother was sleep and his father had gone out to go to work; Hitoshi had no clue what he does for a living, but considering the suit his father wears...

'I might be well-off this time around, heh!' That idea to him was like heaven on earth. In his previous life, struggling for everything he had ever owned, it was quite literal hell.

Gazing at the tiled ceiling above him began to grow old... Within the next moments, Hitoshi had fallen asleep.
