Even though he interacted with humans, he never allowed himself to form bonds with anyone... Until she came along. Felicia was a charismatic and popular girl on campus. Her life was perfect, with influential parents and two little brothers. She lacked nothing. Attention, power, wealth, beauty, everything was hers for the taking as a young adult. She had goals and dreams of traveling across the world, touring different kinds of places with popular ancient history quite different from what people would expect from someone who could have anything. She was a classmate in the college Azaroth attended in the present time, 2046. She slowly pushed her way into his life trying to know him better since she felt attracted to him. Azaroth remained hardheaded and kept trying to push her away. However as circumstances would have it, both of them would be pulled to each other by situations beyond their control. Azaroth would eventually find himself falling uncontrollably for this young, smart, caring, and charismatic girl. Just as their love story was starting to play out a disastrous situation occurred... ----- "The seal... It's broken," Azaroth's heart rate went up just as he sensed this. Felicia happened to have just finished sharing a passionate kiss with him under the basking glow of the moonlight. Her eyes widened as she witnessed Azaroth transform into a beast that was read to her as bedtime stories when she was younger. "Go home!" Azaroth's words boomed loudly in her ears as he bolted into the distance leaving her standing underneath a tree. She was filled with so much confusion and unanswered questions at the time. What she didn't know was, the creatures that once terrorized the nights shall walk the earth once again. Follow Felicia on a journey of discovery as she struggles to keep Azaroth in her life while also dealing with the newfound craziness of the world. Agreeing To Study Together

Azaroth who was having another appointment with his consultant today was currently seated within his office.

"It was a glowing piece of metal and upon seeing it, a kind of feeling was triggered from the very depths of my soul. I was plagued with memories of times I didn't remember living. That was how I also found out about the power that existed deep within me which was also why I was crowned with the title Alpha of Alphas.

Due to its disastrous nature, my granduncle made me promise never to use it which I adhered to until the day where I had to seal them away..."

The middle-aged man clad in a medical outfit jotted down more on a piece of paper as he heard Azaroth speak.

"Hmm and all this train of events keep following themselves in your dreams?" He asked.

"Precisely... It's always like a movie that continues playing from where you stopped the last time you ended it," Azaroth responded.

"I see... so tell me... these dreams keep reoccurring making you feel like you're living another life but what exactly do you think about during the day? Do you watch a lot of scary and fantasy movies with gory and uncomfortable scenes?" The consultant asked again.

"Sometimes I do..." Azaroth responded falsely.

"This can be somewhat attributed to that... Have you been using the drugs I prescribed the other time?" The consultant proceeded to ask again.

"Yes,"

-"And how have you been feeling since you started using them?"

"Better than before but I still occasionally get these nightmares,"

-"Looks like they are working in suppressing your mind when you sleep. You see the body is always in a half-dead state when you're asleep but the mind is always still functioning which is what induces dreams. Those drugs were made to suppress the ability and functionality of the mind during periods of sleep which would reduce the number of dreams you get,"

"Oh, I see,"

-"You've been taking them according to the dosage, right?"

"Yes, I have been doing that,"

Azaroth's last answer was in fact very false but his facial expression didn't undergo any form of change as he answered.

These pills did help in reducing his dream state during sleep but his mind was so powerful that taking the drugs according to the consultant prescription would make it useless for Azaroth.

This wasn't his first time taking drugs that reduced the functionality of his mind but he knew just like the others, it was only a matter of time before his body adapted to it and it stopped functioning.

Medicine had come a long way since the old times but he was a supernatural creature after all. It was already great that it could even have any effect on him.

"I will prescribe another for you to take along with this one. This will help with the identity crisis you feel after waking up from such long nightmares," The consultant spoke, while writing on a fresh piece of paper.

Trrriii~

He tore it out and handed it over to Azaroth who received it with an appreciative nod.

They discussed for a few more minutes before the session ended.

Azaroth stood to his feet and started moving towards the entrance.

"Jonathan, your guardians' contact which you gave me some time back, never went through," He called out to Azaroth before he got to the door.

"Oh, you probably called at the wrong time. They're busy most of the time and can't attend to their calls," Azaroth explained with a slightly apologetic expression.

"Hmm I see, I'll just keep trying then," The consultant nodded while responding.

"Yeah you do that," Azaroth voiced out before turning around and leaving.

He knew very well that the number he gave the man would never go through but he was unbothered.

Azaroth believed he would give it a rest after some time.

----

Hours later Azaroth was within his home staring at his mobile while he sat on the sofa in the living room.

«"Hey how is it going?"» -Felicia

He had seen this message about two hours ago but was conflicted about whether or not he should respond.

What happened during the day back at school still replayed in his mind as he stared at the text.

"It will still take at least five years for anyone to notice my looks haven't changed and even before that our time in college together would have come to an end," Azaroth thought out loud.

"Even closest friends drift apart when their life goals aren't similar... Especially when they each have different purposes to fulfill in different aspects, it will be impossible for them to stay together," While voicing out these thoughts Azaroth was subconsciously shrinking down those walls he had built all these years.

"There shouldn't be a problem with this... in the end, she'll leave to pursue her career," As he got to this point he started typing...

-"I'm ok... how is it going over there?"

He tapped on the send button, sending the text he has just typed.

He had decided that even if he would just go with the flow, he and Felicia weren't even going to get that close.

-

Felicia had her eyes closed as she lay on her bed when she heard her phone beep.

Her eyelashes fluttered as she slowly opened her eyes and grabbed hold of her phone.

She always got a lot of messages and notifications from both known and unknown numbers so Felicia had made it a habit to block her phone from ringing out notifications whenever she was going to sleep.

However she did make some numbers an exception so she knew whenever the phone made notifications sounds in the middle of her sleep, it was from someone important.

'Probably Avery...' Felicia thought as her sleepy eyes scanned through the phone.

In the next moment, her eyes widened.

«"I'm ok... how is it going over there?"» -Jonathan.

"He texted back?" Felicia voiced out with a tone of disbelief as sleep instantly cleared from her eyes.

She felt like her eyes were playing tricks on her and cleaned them. After confirming she quickly responded to the text with an excited expression.

-"Things are cool over here... I was just reading a while ago,"

---------------

In a flash, three days went by and during the last three days, Azaroth had stopped avoiding Felicia like he used to before.

Felicia also didn't try to push too much. She wanted him to slowly get used to her and open up naturally so she wouldn't push him away.

Azaroth didn't chat for too long during the nights as others would but she was always feeling so excited whenever he responded to her texts or text first.

As time passed, people would see them together more and more and now the dating assumptions were stronger than before.

Azaroth finally agreed to be her study buddy for the upcoming exams when she asked again.

They fixed meeting days and decided that Felicia's home would be the venue for their study. Felicia was so happy that this was the location decided but she had no idea that Azaroth just didn't want her to know his place.

--

Friday arrived and just as Azaroth promised, he showed up in front of her home around four in the evening.

This was the first time Azaroth would be entering another person's home of his own accord in a long time so he had forgotten how a true home with family was supposed to feel like.

Only Felicia's mum and her siblings were around. Her father wasn't at home currently. He was councilman after all so he was busy most of the time.

"Oh welcome Jonathan why don't you join us for..." Before Felicia's mum could even complete her sentence upon seeing Azaroth's arrival, Felicia interrupted.

"We don't have time mom, exams are around the corner we need to study," She voiced out while grabbing onto Azaroth's hand and pulling him along with her towards the stairs that were positioned in the southwest area of the living room.
