CHAPTER 15 Christmas Eve

People were making their way in through the large, domed doors, and we joined the back of the crowd to get in. Our parents paid for the tickets at the front of the group, and as we entered, the warmth generated from the people that were already inside, and the heaters that were overhead, helped to defrost my ice-cold face.

Taking my coat from me, Dawson handed them in to a cloakroom, as we made tracks into the main part of the hall. People were dancing in pairs and groups, as a band graced the stage with a singer at the forefront, singing “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey.

It was all a bunch of sparkly fun, with people wearing tinsel on their heads and dangly Christmas earrings. With Christmas jumpers galore, I was glad I had worn my red top, as I fitted in better with it on.
