Chosen For You

I'm Kade and I'm turning seventeen soon. On my birthday I get to take a personality test that determines whether I'll become a vampire, werewolf, or stay human. After that I get to meet other people which I've never done. I'm not sure why they keep us separated. I don't have a mother or a father. I know how a child is made though. Where are my parents? What happened? I don't know how I'm here. I wonder what it's like outside of all the white walls? I wonder why they keep us separated? I wonder who I truly am?

Chapter 10

Kade's Pov:

It's cold. It's dark. I'm starving. Jax. Where are you? Help me. I think I'm dying.

Jax's Pov:

Idiot. Idiot. Idiot. What is she doing?! Where did she go? I have to find her now before she ruins our future chances. I run out of the room and run to hers. I knock on the door and her human answers. "Hello?" the woman asks as the door slides open. "Do you know where Vivian is?"

"Why do you want to know?" She crosses her arms. This is getting frustrating. "I'm a friend. Please I need to speak with her." The woman scoffs. "As if you're friends you're a wolf, a stupid mutt, why would you two friends?" "Please I need to find her." She laughs and closes the door.

Damnit. It's getting late. We will all be sent back to our rooms soon. What do I do? Maybe she'll show up tomorrow? Maybe not. I stand outside the door until I hear someone walk my way down the hall. "Jaxson? Correct?" It's a male, blonde, older than me. I believe he's a vampire maybe he knows something about Kade or Vivian.

"That's me. Who are you?" He stands in front of me. "I'm Jason. I know Kade and Vivian. We should speak of recent events tomorrow. Vivian won't do anything rash. I know she won't. See you tomorrow Jaxson." He turns and walks back the way he came. "Wait! What do you mean?!" He never looks back.

I return to my room, questioning the events of today. Kade... He's gone. I lie down in my bed and not long later burning streams of water flow down my cheeks. Why is this happening? Is he alright? Is he hurt? I wasn't able to protect him, again. What am I doing? Exhaustion finally overtakes me after a very long day.

An alarm shakes me from my sleep. I only have to get through till free time. Then I can learn what Jason wants to talk to me about. Maybe he knows where Kade is? There are a lot of possibilities.

The day goes smoothly until I was in the water tank. When I stepped into the tank it seemed fine but the water began to fill it was hot. Scalding. "HELP! Someone help the water isn't right!" No voice returns my pleas. The water rises devouring my body and burning it as it goes. What am I supposed to do? The tank won't open until the time is up. I'll just have to suffer through this.

The pain is immense. I can feel myself getting cooked. Then something strikes my leg. It stings for a moment then simmers off. What was that? I feel nauseous. I feel my head spin. It's like it wants to implode. The pain is too much. I need to get out of here. Before I ...

I wake up to a bright light shining on my face. "Oh no! He woke up!" A voice that sounds distant yells. I try to look who the voice belongs to but something is injected into my arm before I get the chance to see. I begin to feel more drowsy then it overpowers me.

I walk up again but this time I'm in my room. How did I get here? Where was I before? I sit up and notice a bandage on my leg. Was this a burn from the tank? But I'm not burned anywhere else. Why is that? I reach my hand up my shirt to where the bullet wound should be. It's gone. No stitches no bandages.

I get up and stand in front of my mirror. I pull off my shirt and look at where the wound should be. Nothing. Not even a scar was left behind. What? This was yesterday. It would not be healed by now.

I'll figure it out later. I need to meet up with that vampire. I put my shirt back on and make my way to the commons area. I wall in and music is playing I look around the room. No Jason. No Vivian. Someone taps on my shoulder. I turn around and, "Looking for me?" Jason is smiling. "Yeah, I was. Can we talk now?" He nods his head and leads me to a couch farthest away from any guard or prying ears.

"Where is Vivian?" I ask I plop down on the couch. "She is safe. I talked her out of her frightened spat yesterday. She should be arriving soon." I sigh a sigh of relief. Good. She's ok and didn't mess up our only hope. "What do you know?" He chuckles and a smirk forms on his lips. He then says, "The real question is. What do you want to know?"
