Cat In Another World

Every story begins at birth but for me it started after me dying. For 17 years I've live my life as a human and honsetly I thought to myself sometimes "Why wasnt I born a dinosaur or even a dragon. Goblin seems fine too". I was born poor always out in the street trying to make a living. There were even time I had to look for leftover food in garbage bins just to fill my stomach and dining together with me were dogs. Lived a life similar that of a dog so what difference there is between me and a dog. No, even dogs were treated better than me at least some passer-by would throw them food while what I got was disgust and spit on my face. So when my time finally came, I accepted it with pleasure. But it seems that there is still another chance! And now in front of a strange figure with godly powers. I humbly protates myself. "Please turn me into an animal!"

Listening in

At first, the four of us were sitting next to each other listening to the old man. But not even an hour has passed when finally the two were finally unable to stand it anymore.

"Master... Could we play for a bit!" Garfield and Snow begged.

Just then as Luna was about to scold the two of them I stopped her from doing so.

"Alright, you can go. You too, Luna. Take a break as well"

I could understand them as its probably not in their nature to sit and study. They were cats, not humans. Even some humans didn't like studying. They were also just young kittens.

"No, Master I'll stay and learn!" Luna said with firm eyes. She was dead set on learning to make herself useful for her Master. Who knows in the future if her Master would leave her together with her two brothers just like their parents.

"Just tell me whenever you want to take a break and we'll go back and have snacks"

We continued listening to the old man's teachings until It was afternoon when he asked everyone to take their lunches.

During that time I was able to learn different stuff about different monsters. He taught things about all their common weaknesses and their behaviour. He also taught how to make common traps such as pitfalls and different types of snares.

It's very much like a boy scout lesson. He focused on how to escape from dangerous encounters. For him, teaching survival skills to these young adventurers were his priority.

It was very fun and educational. I'm sure the other adventurer's thoughts so too. His experience in the wild was very valuable. He shared his experience with everyone and taught life lessons. They weren't boring and didn't seem to be scripted. Each of his stories could be Hollywood blockbusters. Especially the one when he had to bit a wolf to death!

Even Luna find it interesting as well and is now absorbing the knowledge that she had learned.

Out of all the things I've learned today the most interesting fact for me is how monsters could absorb other monster's beast core to grow stronger. As one continued to consume monster cores it would eventually grow into a strong monster and maybe even gain the chance to evolve into a stronger species.

I was thrilled by the fact about evolution! As a pokemon fanatic hearing, the word evolving was bound to spark some wild fantasy. Now that to think that I could evolve, I wondered how would my evolution look like? Could monsters mega evolve here?

As much as I wanted to learn more. I was unable to do so for the old have already left. A strict looking middle-aged man took his place and taught the adventurers some basic hand to hand combat.

I've tried to copy a few moves but I wasn't able to. All moves we're only possible with a human body. A cat's joint was made different from the human body. But who's to say that cat can't do martial arts. Perhaps the system would have something that could help me out. That's worth checking later.

"Luna, are you interested in what they are doing?" I asked Luna who was starting at the adventurers as they sparred with each other.

"Yes, I would very much like to learn like them!" Luna then replied without turning her head in fear that she would miss a detail.

"Even though you can't copy their moves?" She should know the difference between her body and those human adventurers I wonder why is she so interested?

"I can't copy their moves but their moves gives me the inspiration to make my own!" Luna expressed with hopeful eyes.

Turning her head she continued, "And in the future, if they fight with Master then I would have already prepared a counter for them!" She then punched the air and dodge as if she really faced retaliation from the air. Does really think she was fighting someone?

Seriously? This girl thinks in a whole different level, unlike her two brothers who only knows how to play all day. But that's at least better than those two goofballs.

"It's good to have a hobby. I will support you in this endeavour."

"Thank you, Master"

Just then a grumbling sound was made.

Luna and I looked at each other eye to eye until Luna first turned away her head in shame

"…"

I guess it is time for lunch.

"I'll go get lunch for us. I'll be back. You're in charge of your brothers!"

I thought, "There has to be some sort of cafeteria here" as I walk inside the guild.

No one really seems to care about a cat entering the guild. Even though they make a living out of killing monsters they all seem very nice and cool about it.

"Hey, What's a cute cat like you doing here?" A girl who seems to be a guild staff stood in front of me and bent down trying to pick me up.

"Where's your owner?" She asked while carrying me in front of her.

Who says cat have to be owned… Why can't just one be a free cat?

"Ah? I'm sorry if I was rude."

It's alright. I was just joking…Wait? Did you just-.

"Yes, I could talk with monsters. A gift of mine since birth." She said with her chest up high.

"So what brings you here Mr.Cat?" She asked.

"I was finding food for my kittens so I really have to get going now"

"Ah, sorry" She then hurriedly put me down and bowed in forgiveness.

"It's alright. Say could you tell me if there's a cafeteria here?"

"Just down that hall." She said pointing at the direction of the cafeteria.

"Thanks"

'I hope we meet again, Mr.Cat!" She said waving goodbye.

Me too. It's nice being able to talk with someone human again. I should try to be friends with her in the future.

After arriving at the cafeteria I didn't dine in like a customer. My real target was the kitchen there. The foods there shouldn't be too bad. It's at least better than leftover foods. But things didn't go as planned.

When I arrived at the kitchen….

"Fvcking cat! Get the hell out of here"

An angry cook came rushing to me with a frying pan in hand.

Is this a cartoon?

It seems that they have been frequently "visited" by cats.

I guess leftover food it is!
