CHAPTER: 13

                           "THE GUILT"

        vindy woke up and went to lisa's room. she wasn't there. "lisa! lisa!" shouted vindy. "i am here" answered lisa coming from outside on wheel chair. "where were you?" questioned vindy. "balcony. getting some air." said lisa. "i love seeing you talking again and you are looking so pretty." said vindy. "where are you going? you mentioned that day!" asked lisa. "umm somewhere far. i dont want to hurt you more. i already did enough." said vindy. "you are not hurting me so dont go. please stay. everyone here is suspicious. i saw the video that day." said lisa crying. "what video?"questioned vindy. "marry showed that to me. it was the footage of burning of her office. Veronica was there putting petrol all over the building. and someone in a black hood was there too. that person brunt it. i didn't saw the face because it was covered. i didn't expect any of that. i didn't imagine in my whole life that i will see these type of things." said lisa. vindy started staring at her. "i am sorry. you are a great person lisa and an amazing friend. but people around you are bad and bad. that's why i have to go." mentioned vindy. "but you are a good person too. why are you leaving? please don't!" said lisa crying. "no, i am not." said vindy and ran out of the room.

      marry was in the investigation room with leny and Veronica. "so you both! tell me who is this secretary and boss? i know you both know very well. according to what leny described about boss in black hood with covered face. and the footage i showed you both of my office. Veronica was with that boss? right? so you know. huh?" questioned marry in curiosity. "yes, i was there and boss was there too but i didn't see the face. boss even not talked to me there. i got a call from secretary and i went there." told Veronica. "okay fine! so you both don't know the boss. what about the secretary who always calls you for the jobs? you know the secretary?" questioned marry. they both stayed quiet. "your silence is telling me that i am right. then tell me the name?" asked marry again. they stayed quiet again. officer john came inside. "marry come out. Michael is here with bleeding leg. someone shot him." told officer john. "what?" said marry shocked and ran out. Veronica followed marry too. "Michael how did this happen?" questioned marry to Michael. "there were some thieves. they took my phone, wallet and car." said Michael. "if they took all these then why did they shoot?" asked marry. "when they were asking my car keys, i refused that's why they shoot me in leg and took the keys too. your office was nearby so i came here for help." told Michael. "ohh god! what is happening in this town?!" said marry. "wait! Veronica why are you here?" questioned Michael when he saw her behind marry. "Michael are you okay? you are bleeding too much." said Veronica worrying. "it's alot of pain but why are you here?" asked Michael again. "she is here for help in one of my case." interrupted marry. "okay! ahhhhh! it's unbearable." said Michael. "i called an ambulance. it's just around the corner." said officer john. marry took Veronica back in. after few minutes ambulance arrived and officer john took Michael to hospital.

       next morning. lisa was having her breakfast when bell rang. she went to the door. it was a parcel for vindy but lisa opened it. "huh! what is this?" asked lisa surprisingly to herself. she took the parcel to vindy's room. "ohhh you awake?" said vindy. "there is a parcel for you." told lisa and showed the parcel. "why did you open it? there is something called privacy." shouted vindy in harsh voice. "so you are going tomorrow." said lisa. "forget it! i will change it." mentioned vindy. "so you dont want me to know where will you be going. right!" said lisa. "i said forget it." replied vindy. "okay then change your place to something fun like Europe Countries. you have been to texas for several times. why are you going again?" said lisa and went out of the room. vindy picked up her phone and called after lisa left. "hello! i am vindy andrews. i have flight tomorrow but i want to change the place." said vindy. "sorry madam that's not possible in such short notice. if you want to change the flight then there will be some flights for next week." said someone on the call. "no! no!" said vindy and cut the phone.

       marry called officer john. "how is Michael?" asked marry. "he is now okay. he is sleeping right now. he will be discharge in one day." told officer john. "wow that's cool." said marry. "are you okay?" asked officer john. "i am just tired. i want this case to finish. they are not saying a word. i just want a killer." said marry frustrated. "it'll be okay. dont worry we will figure out." told officer john. mary hung up. marry went in the investigation room. "so what's your plan?" asked marry. leny and Veronica stared at her. "fine so i will go to lisa tomorrow and tell her everything. then i will take her here with me and you will be so happy to see her disappointed, leny." threatened marry. "you cant use this on me again and again." said leny. "ohh leny i can. i know you love her and that's your weakness. so ask your partner and make decision. i will come tomorrow in the morning for one last time or otherwise you know." said marry smiling. leny was staring her angrily.

      after marry left the room. "we should tell her." said leny to Veronica. "how dare you say that?" said Veronica. "she already knows everything. if we will not tell her. she will find otherwise." explained leny. "we can't leny. if everything opens up. we will spend our whole life in this jail. atleast now we have a little hope to get bailed out." replied Veronica. "we will never get bailed out. the person you are expecting for help is no more with us." said leny. "how can you say that with surety?" asked veronica. "i know. we only have one option to confess everything we know and get our punishment. we didn't kill adam. we just helped so the punishment will be less for us. after we get free, we can start fresh and make our lives better. i am a bad person and that's why she dont love me. i want to do things right and you also have to do the same." explained leny. "sigh." Veronica took a long breath and nodded in yes. leny passed a smile.
