CHAPTER 4

With my widened eyes, I stared at him with a surprised face. I also stopped from walking to the closet to get the medical kit. What the hell did he say? He fucking tried to kill someone? I can see his serious face staring at me. I looked away to get rid of his deadly stare.

"Uh- oh." That's all that I said. How should I react in this kind of situation?

"I was just joking, you look so serious." I scratched my neck as I bowed my head in shame. He said it was just a joke, but I'm not yet convinced. He might be lying right now. My body flinched as he got closer to me. I suddenly distanced myself away from him.

"Treat my wound already and I'll give you money. Name your price. However, don't tell my brother about this. Especially what happened to me." He said while wagging his tail. "I don't need your money. Why don't you want to let your brother know? He's a doctor, of course he can treat your wound. He's an expert doctor, right? Despite that, he treated my wounds last night." He surprisedly glared at me, "He did?" He asked. I just nodded at him as I grabbed the medical kit.

"Delian too," I added.

"So they let other people into this sacred mansion. That was really surprising." I looked at him with my confused face. Delian and Dr. Haze let me in this mansion even it was sacred? How is this mansion sacred? It doesn't look like one. It looks like an abandoned mansion.

"What?"

"Nothing," he said with his bored tone. I just shrugged my shoulders as I knelt down beside him. I took a deep breath before I started cleaning his wound with clean water that I got from the closet. He flinched as I applied the ointment on it. I don't have any idea what to do with his wound. His wound was a bit deep, but I guess it could be treated with this ointment.

"It got infected, don't touch it with your fingers." I gasped and my hands got left hanging in the air. "O-Okay.." I said before I got the gloves on the medical kit. I carefully applied the ointment to his wound. I could hear his painful groans and heavy breathing. "Should I stop?" I whispered.

"No, continue what you were doing." He replied. It was just a whisper but he heard them very well and it made me surprised. So is this one of the special characteristics of an upper rank alpha?

"I will."

"You don't need to be gentle on me. It wasn't painful at all." I looked at him mockingly as he said those words. " Why are you looking at me like that?" I let out a small laugh when he started sounding annoyed. "And you're making fun of me. That's offensive."

I looked away before I continued to apply the ointment to his wound. He let out some groans as I applied the ointment. "Does it hurt?" I mockingly asked him. His jaw tightened before looking away. "Did I offend you again? Should I call you young master too?"

"Shut up, you're annoying." I let out a small laugh. He's indeed annoyed right now. "I was just joking," I said while trying to stop my laughter. I don't really know why I am laughing right now and I couldn't even hold it back. The situation wasn't really fun. He glared at me intently, as if he was judging my whole life and personality.

My body froze when his body suddenly disappeared without any notice. What the.. is he a magician? What kind of magic does he have? Is this one of his characteristics aside from strong hearing as an upper rank alpha?

"I-I'm not making fun of you. I was just happy and I don't know why," I said in a whispering voice. I heard a loud noise on the ceiling. He's on the roof. My jaw dropped in the air as I heard a loud roar coming from the rooftop. I already treated his wound... is the pain really unbearable? Why doesn't he ask his brother for help?

I was about to leave the room when I saw a shadow in the window. It was a huge man standing there. With curiosity, I decided to check it out.

"What are you doing here?" I stopped from walking when I heard Dr. Haze voice. I did not even get a chance to see what was with that shadow that I saw earlier. I turned my back to him while smiling in my ear, trying to get rid of the awkwardness. "I-I.. I got l-lost. You know.. this mansion is quite huge. I thought this room was the main gate of the mansion. I'm sorry for being an intruder. I went inside this room without your notice." I bowed my head. It was all a lie. I met your brother and tried to treat his wound, but your brother used his ability as an upper rank alpha and disappeared from nowhere.

I heard a sigh before he spoke and said, "Delian will drive you off. Don't be sorry, this room was just a room. It wasn't special at all," he responded calmly.

"I will go by myself.. Delian is a woman, she doesn't need to drive me off." I said, but he acted like he did not hear what I had said to him. "No, you're a guest here—" I cut him off without him finishing what he was about to say, "And you saved me from that bastard. You even let me stay when I w-was i-in h-heat.." I said while swallowing hard.

He blinked fast because of what I had said. My eyes also widened when I realized what I had said. "O-Oh," he amusingly said. I lowered my head." I'm not an omega." I said with my defensive tone.

"Yeah," he mockingly looked at me.

The presence of the heavy room lightened up when Delian entered the room. She was smiling in her ear as she faced us. "So... are we going to leave now?! I'm ready to go outside and keep you company, Keilian!" she said,

My eyes widened in shock. I was about to disagree when she cut me off guard, "It was my decision to give you a ride. Don't be worried that a mere woman like me will take you home. I'm not just a woman, definitely not." she winked at me. I pursed my lips as my face turned red. It wasn't because she winked at me, but it was because I was embarrassed. She got me there. She got some rizz to make me feel embarrassed.

"You don't need to do that—" I didn't finish what I was about to say when my phone rang. The room was filled with loud ringtones. My face turned redder. Hell.. I forgot to change my ringtone..

"Nice ringtone." Delian and Dr. Haze hissed at me. I took a deep breath before I answered the call. Why is she calling me this early in the morning?

"Hey.." I greeted her while smiling even I knew that she wouldn't see it.

"Someone killed my parents.. Keilian.. I don't know what to do.." I heard a loud sob coming from the other line. My heart skipped a bit. I don't want to hear those sobs, it makes my heart ache in pain. "Shh... wait for me.. W-Where are you?" I asked her but she did not respond.

"H-hello?"

I waited for her to respond but I did not get any response. "tot-tot-tot-tot"

I glanced at my phone screen and the phone call had already ended.
