KNOWING FEAR 1

Eclipse suddenly turned to Raine and asked, "Did you hear that?". Raine shook her head at Eclipse. Eclipse heard the sound of heavy breathing but thought it was just her imagination. The girls realized that as they went deeper into the forest, it became darker. They could hear the sound of owls hooting and they could see the owls rotating their heads 360°. Raine commented on the owls' behavior by calling it freaky, which made Eclipse laugh although there was cold sweat on her back. They felt a gust of wind behind them and turned to see what it was. Eclipse turned to Raine and said, "Okay this is not in my head now, you felt that didn't you?", to which Raine gave a positive answer.

Raine squinted her eyes, trying to see in the dark. They decided to behave as if they didn't feel anything and continued walking. They only took 4 steps forward when they saw it. They saw 4 huge wolves baring their canines at them. The wolves were 10 times larger than an average wolf. Saliva was dripping from their long and sharp canines. The girls were stunned for a while before the deep and loud growl of the creatures snapped them out of their daze. Raine screamed at the top of her lungs for someone to help them, but it was useless as no one could hear them. Eclipse held onto Raine's arm and took a few steps backward while thinking, "It wasn't just a myth. These creatures actually exist. Supernatural creatures are real".

The wolves crouched low to the ground preparing to spring up and pounce on them. One of the wolves said to the other through telepathy, "Good. This one belongs to the Aquilla silverback. We'll devour her". The other wolf said, "Yes. That silverback has held unimaginable power for a long time. Getting rid of his mate will definitely bring him down and then the werewolves can take over as kings of the forbidden forest. As for the other girl, she'll be our side dish." There was complete bloodlust in the eyes of the wolves directed towards Raine and Eclipse.

When the girls thought that their situation couldn't get worse, that they couldn't be more afraid, the ground started to tremble. Loud thudding sounds could be heard coming from the east. Raine and Eclipse prepared themselves for whatever creature was going to pop out. But never in their wildest dreams could they have thought of such a beastly creature. Looking at where the heavy thuds were coming from, eight huge gorillas emerged and hit their fists on their chests as a sign of dominance.

Looking at the creatures to the left side of her, Eclipse took a step back and her heart started pounding in fear. The largest gorilla which was standing in front of the other seven whipped it's huge head around to look at her. Turns out the gorilla sensed her fear, which Eclipse realized and stopped in her tracks. The gorilla made a loud rumbling sound and slightly lowered its head. This action confused Eclipse but the other gorillas knew that it was a sign of acknowledgement to the one person that has power over him, his mate.

The girls were still trying to decipher what kind of gorillas those creatures were. The gorillas were huge with spikes all over their bodies. Chains were hanging around most of the spikes. There were cracks in their bodies that were glowing a reddish-orange hue. It finally clicked in their heads that the glowing substance in those cracks was volcanic molten magma, it was lava.

The wolves knew they were done for. They thought that they could get rid of them and escape before the beasts arrive, but they thought wrong. One of the wolves tried to prove that it was brave by sprinting in the direction of the huge gorillas with the intention of bringing the silverback down. Just one hit of the silverback's heavy fist cracked all the bones in the wolf's body. The wolf fell to the ground while whining before giving out one last huff. The wolf died just like that. Raine and Eclipse were watching the scene in shock.
