After hearing Jesse's heartfelt confession, Eclipse felt tingly inside. She didn't know what this feeling was. Her body moved before she could think and she kissed Jesse's red lips.

Jesse who didn't expect this stayed perfectly still until his mind registered that she was kissing him, his mate was kissing him albeit sloppily.

He wound his slender but muscular arms around her waist and kissed her back, kissing her slowly and lovingly at first, but his kisses gradually became rough as if he wanted to devour her. He nipped her lips and sucked on them. Eclipse felt butterflies moving in her stomach. She had always heard the girls of her village talking about their first kisses and now she understood how they felt. Jesse invaded her mouth with his tongue and explored it until he tasted blood. This was enough to suppress his beastly nature.

By the time they stopped kissing, Eclipse was red all over, she was breathless and her lips were swollen. She couldn't understand what she just did, it was not like her. She didn't even realize that Jesse drew blood from her lips in the process of kissing her.

"I never thought that you'd initiate our first kiss sweetheart. Nevertheless, it was amazing.", Jesse said while stroking her hair. He was happy because it seemed like his story had made their relationship progress and this wasn't even all.

Jesse rubbed her swollen lips, specifically the spot where he bit her. "Sorry for this love, I couldn't control myself".

Eclipse proceeded to touch the same spot and realized that Jesse bit her. She felt queasy thinking about the love bite.

"I know you left out some details in your story. I'll wait until you're ready to tell me. I don't want to invade your privacy. But for now, can you explain the concept of mating to me". Eclipse said still blushing from their previous activity.

"Mating... I'll start by telling you about mates. Most supernatural beings have mates given to them either by the Sun goddess, Star goddess or moon goddess. A mate is not just a mate but a soul mate. Supernaturals that are blessed with immense speed and cursed by the sun, like Vampires, are granted mates by the Sun goddess. Supernaturals that are blessed with brute strength and cursed by the moon are granted mates by the moon goddess. Basically all shifters are subjects to the moon goddess. Supernaturals that are blessed with ethereal and magical powers like fairies and mermaids and cursed by the stars are granted mates by the star goddess.

When a supernatural is born or created, the process of creating its other half begins. Depending on the class the supernatural falls into, one of the goddesses will create a mate that completes the supernatural. A mate that makes it better and stronger. The goddesses create mates depending on the character of supernaturals.

When a supernatural's mate is born, it can feel a connection, a bond with its mate. This connection lasts for life. Whatever pain its mate feels, the supernatural feels it too.

Just like how I feel about you. You're my mate. Having you by my side makes me complete. I can't imagine a life without you. Whatever you feel, I feel it too. All I want is to be with you and to protect you, because you were made for me, only me."

"So how can I feel the same thing as you?", Eclipse asked.

Jesse chuckled, "Does that mean you're willing to give us a chance?"

Eclipse thought for a while before answering, "I can't be so cruel as to separate soul mates. Although I don't love you right now, I can't deny that I feel an attraction, a connection between us. I'm willing to give us a chance but on one condition, we'll take things slow, no rush."

Jesse looked into Eclipse's emerald Green eyes and said, "that's not a problem love, I'm glad that you're willing to give our relationship a chance. I won't disappoint you. And...I'll make you fall deeply in love with me". The last part of his sentence was said in a whisper.

"So can you answer my question now?", Eclipse asked looking away, trying to hide her face. She couldn't count how many times she had blushed all because of the creature in front of her.

"Of course sweetheart. You can feel whatever I feel through the mate bond. If you concentrate, you'd be able to feel my aura and know what I'm feeling. But it won't be enhanced because we aren't true mates yet. I haven't given you my mark. Once we truly mate, you'd be able to feel everything with ease, but it won't be on the same level as me since I'm not a full human."

"How can you give me your mark?"

"My little mate is so curious. Let's leave that talk for another day."

Eclipse felt quite satisfied with all the answers she got, so she decided to let that one slide.
