The Systems and Terminologies

[This chapter should server as a general overview about the post-apocalyptic world Oisin is surviving in, and the various terms that came to be within that period for convenience of story progression. And as such... it might contain minor spoilers.]

---

[Dawn]

After the fearsome apocalypse that had killed seemingly every humans on Earth, the planet's skies, perhaps the atmosphere as well, was then mysteriously layered with another layer, because of which the world got sealed on a permanent Dawn. There's no night, nor day anymore. Just a single crimson Dawn to stare at, in this... cacotopic hell.

Why does this exist as a seperate term...? It just felt important...

[Survivors]

The oh-so lucky... totally... survivors of this apocalypse were simply called, "Survivors", be it a human that survived, or perhaps a dog.

[Phantom]

Mysterious creatures that suddenly appeared after the apocalypse, boasting an inhuman physical and magical prowess and capable of speech, were termed as "Phantoms" by our protagonist, Oisin. As it appears, they were sent from a different world to here. And there are two different types of phantoms:

1. Green Phantom

2. Red Phantom

In short, Green phantoms are supposedly the good guys that lead the 'survivors' to the mysterious sanctuary of Dawn in order to receive salvation. While the Red phantoms are the trouble-makers that must eliminate every remaining survivor, and make sure that none of them enters the sanctuary of Dawn to receive salvation.

[Sanctuary of Dawn]

Not to confuse with Dawn, the Sanctuary of Dawn is a separate thing. Rumoured to be in the far east, even amidst this ruined post-apocalyptic world, there is this 'paradise' waiting for the survivors.

Survivors are promised to be kept safe and blessed within the Sanctuary.

The Power System:

The Power System in this world really never existed before the apocalypse. Suddenly some day after the apocalypse, throughout the earth, a mysterious energy was spread. This energy in turn, gave birth to the runic magic, or simply rune energy inside and... outside the survivors.

[Rune]

The Runes are typical mana like energy that generally remains unseen. When visible, it takes form of certain symbol and is capable of being colorful, sometimes being too small to be able to comprehend it by taking in a certain shape. For example: If you create a cat by your runic energy, it would actually be a compilation of rune inscription so short and colorful to realize that it's not a real cat.

[Rune Seed]

As the mysterious energy spreads across the world after the apocalypse, the energy enters into the hearts of the survivors and reaps a seed. This seed is a rune seed that eventually gives birth to a Rune Core when the survivor realizes his runic energy inside his heart.

[Rune Core]

After the realization, the Rune Core is revealed at the thorax of the survivors. The Rune Core is typically a beautiful line art of a runic inscription that represents a scenario. For example: Oisin's Rune Core is a leaf dipping in blood and Nahn's Rune Core is a lion roaring atop hill under clouds. Yea... the scenario might be too big to explain at times.

Every survivor bears a different Rune Core.

[Rune Energy]

There are two types of runic energy:

1. Basic Runic Energy or mundane rune.

2. Unique Runic Energy or special rune or simply rune.

Mundane rune energy represents the energy that had spread all around the earth. This energy is separate from the survivor. In other words, the survivor doesn't own that rune energy.

Special rune energy on the other hand are borne from the Rune Cores of survivors. It exists with the survivor and is thus connected by the survivor's soul.

[Rune Class]

Based on how experienced a survivor is, on using his or her Runes, they receive a new or old Rune Class every time they ascend or descend in their proficiency of using runes.

What are the classes though?

As if even the rune masters have any idea... They generally appear to be different from person to person and are mostly inconceivable. Not a really important thing... hopefully...

[Rune Ability]

Last and the largest thing to explain....

Actually I will laze off, and let the readers discover it themselves. To detail the inner works of Rune Ability is quiet the spoiler. So discover how it works yourself.

That's all. Enjoy :)
