Wolf at the door

I sat there in the middle of the dimly lit containment room just staring at the syringes the crazy bitch left. She did it on purpose I know she did, She did it to torment me even more. To remind me that no matter what I did, I wouldn't be able to escape the experiments to come.

I felt a suffocating pressure as the realization of me being trapped like a rat starts to weigh me down. I had nothing to live for and the depression of the past few days reemerged to wrap around me like a blanket of misery.

I saw the syringes and a stupid idea popped into my head as the depression inside was getting to much to bear. She said that one of them was filled with silver right? Isn't that lethal to Werewolves? Would that do it? Would that let me escape from this painful reality?

I have a mental shrug and closing my eyes I grab a syringe and jab it into my thigh as I press down to release all of the liquid into my bloodstream. I drop the needle and lay down as I wait for the effects to activate.

...

...

What the hell? Why isn't anything happeneing? Shouldn't I be choking on my own blood by now? I opened my eyes and looked at the needle I dropped. There on the ground was the used needle with a faint hint of orangish red still left within it.

"Dammit, I grabbed the wrong one." I grabbed the Primal syringe instead then another realization hit me. Why was I still in human form? Shouldn't I have turned by now? That's what happened last time.

"We made sure to modify the blood to stop you from turning, just in case you got the bright idea to try and escape with your beast form." A voice came out over a speaker that was well hidden somewhere within the room. It was that damn crazy nurses voice that spoke.

"LET ME GO DAMMIT! I DON"T BELONG HERE!" I screamed out in all directions. The frustration was overwhelming, I felt a sudden urge to scream and yell but what came out was a loud powerful roar that even vibrated the air in the room.

"Ooooo, now that's interesting, it seems you can use some of the abilities of an alpha even as an newly turned and much less your still in a human form. Does this have something to do with the primal blood having a unique effect or does it have something to do with maybe the Ancient blood taking effect? So many interesting things. Don't you just love a good mystery hehe, I know I do."

The speaker than cuts out as the door to my room unlocks and it opens by itself.

This was totally a trap but right now I had what felt like an adrenaline rush and I could only focus on a new potential escape route.

------

2 women stood in front of a monitor that showed a human running down a hall.

"He knows this is nothing but a trap right? There is no way he is this stupid.

One of the women take off the mask that covered her face and unveiling blonde hair that covered her back and flowed like water. Her eyes seemed crazed but she then waved her hand in front of her face as cracks and creaks are heard and seconds later the face of Jess, the first person that our MC encountered upon entering the new world.

She turns to the other one and smiles. "This will be easy, just keep up the act and I'm sure he will lead us to his maker. Then we can kill both him and the Rogue who illegally turned him."

"Ugh, fine, but if this dog bites me I'm gonna rip his head off."

The second woman takes off her mask and it is the face of Darla.

----------

I have been running down this hall for atleast the last 30 minutes but so far nothing has changed. I even passed my own room a few times, I kept running in a vain attempt but inside I knew that nothing would change. I was just being insane, I walked back to my room and left the door open as I laid down on the worn down bed that was left for me. I glanced at the silver filled syringe for a bried moment but the thought of ending it just seemed like to much energy at the moment.

"Who's ready for their experiment? I know I am hehe." The nurse walked in but this time her face was uncovered and my eyes went wide.

"Jess? holy shit you have to help me. I don't know who these people are but I don't belong here you have to help me escape."

Jess just looked at me with unblinking eyes, but soon she just sighed as her whole persona changed and the air around her felt different.

"Ugh, look you worthless human, we need you to tell us who your maker was. You know, the rogue that killed your friend and family? yea that guy. You were made illegally and so by law we are required to kill you. But your the only link we have to the Rogue so for now your held in captivity while we wait for the bastard to show itself. If you know anything than just tell me so I can kill both of you and I can go home and rest."

The shock of yet another realization kept me stunned. I shouldn't have put so much trust on someone I haven't known but for a few minutes but still I just wanted to leave.

"I don't know who the Rogue is, It snuck into my room one night, bit me, then I passed out and woke up in the hospital. That's it I swear, now let me go."

"Why don't I believe you human. Why is my bullshit meter fully in the red just from hearing you open your mouth?"

"Just fucking listen to me Jess, I swear I don't know anything about that fucking bastard that turned me. If I could meet him I would kill him mys..." I felt a sharp electric shock throughout my body before I could even finish my sentence. Something inside me kept me from insulting my maker and it was being reinforced know through the pain I felt.

"Ahaha, see this only happens when you badmouth your maker. The sheer amount of pain I'm seeing shows that he is near. The Pain intensifies when your maker hears it." Jess pulls out a radio and shouts over it.

"CODE RED, THE ROGUE IS WITHIN THE BUILDING, INITIATE FULL LOCKDOWN!"

Loud clangs were heard all over the building as large steel doors slammed down over the windows and covered the doors leading into the Keep. The pain was slowly subsiding but I knew to refrain from shit talking atleast for the moment.

Jess left the room in a hurry but she left the door open again. This time I could hear the excited voices of others from the hallway. I was able to crawl through the pain and looked out from the doorway. I saw Jess speaking to a group of familiar guards.

"The rogue is somewhere within the building. Spread out in teams of 2 and report every 5 minutes. Team 1 go to the catwalks of the building. There was recent construction to the walls and it could have been left open if the Rogue infiltrated the construction team. Team 2, I want you to go and secure the other subjects. Take Darla along with you to make sure they are all accounted for. Barton and me will go back and guard the illegal."

I ducked back into the room as I saw them all split up and Jess and the Leader who is named Barton started walking back to my room.

Jess entered the room and went around to check the circles that lined the my room. Barton stood at the entrance and only stared at me for a few seconds before turning and standing guard just outside.

"Don't think this changes anything, You're still going to die but now the timeline has been pushed a little bit. Barton don't you think you could keep a better eye on this guy from within the room?"

"If the Rogue enters the hallway I would be able to fight quicker, plus in the room we would basically be trapped and waiting to be eaten."

I couldn't do anything so giving up I just rolled over towards the wall and dozed off.

A few minutes later I was woken up by a blaring noise coming from Jess' radio.

"BARTON, THE ROGUE.... " The radio crackled and squealed before silence.

I could hear the urgency in that person's voice but it was cut off before they could say anything else.

"I need to go help my team." Barton said with urgency but before he could take a step Jess grabbed his arm and kept him in place.

"You will not leave me here alone with the subject, what if the Rogue were to come here? I can't kill it by myself."

"You snapped this guy's wrist without even trying, I think you'll be fine until I get back." Barton then shook off her hand and started to run off down the hall.

"FUCK! What the hell am I supposed to do now. That damn Alpha team was supposed to be the best but look at them now. Leaving their clients like this ugh Dammit." Jess started a small tantrum that took her all over the room.

AWOOOOOOOO

A loud roar shook through the building and even my bed started to shake from the reverberation. Jess and I looked at eachother at the same time with wide open eyes before soon looking towards the closed door as the handle to the room could be heard wiggling back and forth as someone attempted to open the door.

"JESS OPEN THE DOOR, IT'S OUT HERE DAMMIT. THE TEAM IS DEAD LET ME IN!" Barton shouted from the other side of the door. Jess quickly ran over and unlocked the door and on the otherside was Barton. His clothes ripped and torn as blood dripped and oozed from multiple clawed wounds.

"The Rogue is stronger than he used to be. My guess is that the power this one holds has somehow given the Rogue a boost as a side effect." Barton said as he was helped down onto the bed after Jess shooed me off. I tried to help but she only pushed me to the side as she used ripped cloth of her own to bandage his wounds.

"When it gets here I want you to take the subject and run. I'll try and keep it busy as long as I can."

"Barton NO!. You'll die! We can figure it out even if I have to give up on the subject and the Rogue, you and me will live." Jess was visibly shaken from Barton's wounds and I could guess that from their words they had a thing.

BANG! BANG! came 2 loud pounds on the door. A guttural growl was let loose by whatever was on the other side. "Little piggy.... Let me in.... You have something that belongs to me." The voice spoke and a shiver went down my spine as horror bloomed in my mind.
