Waking up and a history lesson

I opened my eyes to see a white ceiling. I looked around and could see that I was in a hopstial room. I tried to move but none of my limbs were listening. I focused on my hand and after a few seconds the only thing I could get to work was a slight tremore of my thumb.

"HELP! WHERE AM I!?"

Soon a doctor rushed in followed by a 2 nurses came in and started to check up on me.

"Becky check his vitals, Jacky get the sedatives his condition requires him to be completely immobile!" The doctor issued the orders and the nursed were already working on doing them with efficiency.

"Please doctor, where are my parents? Where am I? All I remember was a monster attacking me before it all became a blur."

The doctore then shined a light in my eyes before speaking. "Mister Dyrrun, you were the victim of a vicious animal attack. your spinal cord was injured during the attack and your lungs along with multiple organs were punctured. Frankly I'm surprised your alive but right now you need to stay completely still otherwise your spine was snap under the pressure. Multiple nerves were ripped and even your bones were broken and chewed on. I have no idea why you are alive. You should be dead."

He raised back up and started to listen to the nurse as she read off my vitals. The other nurse came back and brought a needle filled with a milky substance.

The doctor took it but before he could inject me, 2 men came in and stopped him.

"Whoa, Whoa, doc, we need to speak to young Alaric here about the incident." He then pulled out a folded up envelope before opening and showing the doctor.

"By order of the Government you are not allowed to knock him out before he explains first."

The doctor took the letter and after reading it for a few seconds his eyes widened and he nodded quickly and grabbed the nurses and left in haste.

"Good, now that the normies are gone." The one who held the leader turned to look at me and smiled.

"Alaric, last name, Dyrrun. That's you correct?"

"..."

"Fair enough. Look I'll cut to the chase, You were bitten by an Unseen. Usually they wouldn't attack mortals but this particular Unseen has been branded a Rogue and is forbidden to turn humans. Not that the fucking Rogues would ever listen to us but hey that's where we come in."

"Huh? What the hell are you talking about? Unseen? Rogues? Just tell me what the hell that thing was and why I am being covered up like a mummy and told I can't move or I'll die?"

The 2 men looked at eachother before the first guy sighed and rubbed his forehead.

"Listen man, you are now what we call a Halfturned. Any human who gets turned by an Unseen is then called a Halfturned and will stay as such until their first full turning.... Take were wolves for example. the little pups that they make humans from are called Halfturned until their first full moon. During that time they are required to get licensed by the Unseen Government and registered with a role. Do ya understand now?"

Again nothing they said made sense to me. Unseen? Halfturned? This guy just kept throwing words at me but it still made no sense. I just rembered being attacked by a huge wolf creature and it ran off after my door busted open.

I only shook my head to show I still didn't understand and that's when he pulled out a pair of weird looking goggles. He started to walk over to me and before I could protest he placed them over my eyes and I heard a click and the goggles lit up for a second and I felt like they were scanning me.

a window popped up in my face as the goggles finished scanning me.

[Halfturned verified. Classification: Shifter, Subclass: Werewolf]

[Will now begin the registration process and history of the Unseen will be played.]

The next second I was bombarded with images all hurtling towrads me like a fast paced slidshow. Some showed images of a group of people gathering together at night and then each one changed into a slightly different version of the thing that attacked me as the full moon rose.

The next slideshow was something that looked even further in the past as it showed what looked like a normal forest but the air started to ripple and a tear formed. Time moved by and after a few days the tear rippled and something emerged out from it. It looked crazy, it was walking on 2 legs but it was more like a dog person and carried around a spear. It was then that a hiker had come upon the dog person but was instantly attacked and eaten by the creature. I couldn't get the reason I was shown this but soon that to passed as a few more slideshows emerged that shown multiple different creatures coming together and forming a governing body.

I wanted to see more but I started to sweat and my eyes were burning and I couldn't breath properly.

"Fuck, he's overloading, Paul grab the goggles, let's just hope the registration process is complete."

"Yes boss"

Soon I could breath again as the goggles were ripped off my face.

"DAMN, I've never seen that happen before!"

"Why the hell are his eyes bleeding? Has their been reports of that happening before?"

"Ofcourse not Paul, maybe because he's not fully healed?"

"What should we do boss? it looks like he hasn't been fully registered?"

"FUCK! Dammit, ok let's just go back and report this. You stay here and put the info for the bill under us, it's the least we can for not protecting him and his friend."

They both left without even making sure I was ok, but thankfully I was breathing better and so far my eyes were done burning. I could still feel the pain and burning but it was leaving by the second. Whatever those goggles were I wanted no part of it again. I needed to get out of here and fast, I tried to move my arms again but they were still strapped up tight.

I kept trying to move but then something snapped and my leg fell from the straps and crashed against the side of the bed. Instantly I felt pain from my shoulder and the side of my body where that thing had grabbed me and bitten me. I tried to hold in the pain but it soon reached a point where I just couldn't hold it in and screamed at the top of my lungs.

The nurse who was in charge of my vitals came rushing in and once she saw the leg on the bed she turned and gasped and ran back saying something about a code. I wasn't really caring about her as the pain was reaching astronomical levels and I felt my sides getting warm, I was also starting to get a little woozy so I stopped screaming. I just focused on breathing in the hopes that the pain would stop soon.

"Oh god, nurse how did this happen I thought we had him strapped up tight? There is no way he should have been able to get loose and move." The doctor said as soon as he entered.

"We triple checked just to be sure, I don't know how it could have happened." The nurse said as they came rushing in and lifted my leg up.

"Doctor it looks like his side opened back up. He's losing alot of blood. Alaric? Can you hear me? How are you feeling?"

"I....I feel tired." was the last I could say before I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

"How do you think the kid is doing? You know the boss isn't going to like this." Tony and Paul were currently on the ground floor. Paul had just finished giving over the information for the billing and they were about to leave. Tony was just about to open the door when they were stopped by a nurse who was breathing heavily.

"Sir, sir.... Ugh we need you back up at the room, it looks like your son has gotten loose and has reopened his side and shoulder."

"Son?" Tony said as he looked at Paul for a quick second before jumping back into character.

"Oh gosh, then we had better go right away. Paul go tell my wife that the boy is going to be ok and to send over some supplies in case I have to stay overnight...."

Paul nodded and quickly left as the 2 rushed back up to the floor where Alaric was currently trying to survive.

When they arrived back at the hospital room they were greeted with a hectic sight, the doctors and nurses were swarming over Alarics body as they tried to keep his vitals from falling any further. They were trying to stitch up his side in order to keep it from hemorrhaging any more blood and also at the same time they were being extra cautious to try and not move him to much. They were still afraid of his spinal cord injury finally giving in.....

If they had just taken the time to look they would have seen that the bones and nerves of the spinal cord had healed, in fact from the spinal cord a pulse filled with a new energy was slowly infecting his bloodstream on the way to his heart.
