Ethan put the map back.

The basements were neatly locked up, not a speck of dust in place. It showed that this place was well cared for.

He'd had just a little trouble locating them. The rest had been easy.

The Alpha put his hands in his pockets, and started his trek back to a few floors above ground, where the rest of the participants of the Luna's Gambit were peacefully sleeping.

He reached the main doors, bolted through two heavy levers. It would take two Lars' to rotate them in rhythm to unlock, and Ethan suspected there was some magic boundary thing going on too.

Ethan would admit that he'd found plenty of things interesting, but he'd never really picked up the habit of stealing. A copy of the map would do. 

His fingers tugged at a platinum chain hanging around his neck, pulling it over his clothes, his silver ring hanging from it.

It was time to get back.

There was a permanent burn in his chest.
