Chapter Two

"You don't have to be scared, I'm not going to eat you up you know" his deep and masculine voice echoed in the carriage, making me flinch. I realized I was holding onto my dress firmly, I had been staring outside the window to calm myself down but nothing was working as my face became more pale from time to time.

"I-I'm not scared" I said as I slowly turned my head towards him. That was a lie though, I'm a actually scared to death.

"Y-your majesty" I called on him because I wanted to clarify something.

"Yes, what do u need?" He replied as he opened his eyes to look at me.

"Ne-never mind" I answered as I was too scared to ask him.

"Emilia". I caught my breath Immediately he called my name. It sent a strange feeling through me. "Do you know my name?".

"Y-yes your majesty" I replied. With a slow sigh, he said "Good, use it whenever we are alone, drop the formalities and do not be shy to ask me questions at any time, I'm not going to hurt you so say whatever it was you wanted to say". He replied.

"O-ok, your maje- , I mean Sebastian .Do you have other wives?" I asked while holding my breath as I was scared of his reply.

"No, but I have a lot of mistresses"he replied with a straight face. It felt as if a bucket of cold water was poured on my head, My face went pale..

"You don't seem ok with that, are you jealous" he said as he looked at me with a smirk on his face.

"Do I have right to be" I replied him with a questioning face.

"You're my wife so you do" he said as he leaned his back on the chair and closed his eyes. I do not know how long I stared at his face, he just looked too surreal. He neither looks nor act like the rumors about him, or was he just pretending.

"I can feel your eyes on me even with my eyes closed" he said, opening his eyes. "not like I mind you staring though".

" I wasn't staring" I replied.

"Whatever you say" he answered.

The caravan stopped and the guard notified us that we had arrived at the palace.Sebastian stepped out of the caravan and offered me his hand. I took it, and he helped me down.

The castle was grand, and the garden was even more luxurious, with green bushes and colorful flowers.

"Your highness, welcome back". A man in guard uniform greeted.

"This is Emilia my wife" he said and he turned to me "Emilia, he is one of my trusted men" he told me.

"Her Highness" the man replied by greeting and I gave a quick smile because I didn't know how to respond.

"we'll take our leave now" he said to the guard and continued walking. I wondered why we weren't stopping to see any of his family members, I was curious.

"Your highness, aren't we going to greet your family?". I asked him and then he halted.

"I don't have any family, they are all dead" he said with no emotions. His grip on my hand tightened and it was starting to hurt me.

"Sebastian you're hurting me" the grip was starting to hurt pretty bad so i had no other choice than to tell him. he loosened his grip on my hand and walked away as soon as he saw the look on my face. I had to run alongside him before I get lost.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked such questions"that was the first I said when we got into the chamber. I didn't know it was a sensitive topic for him.

"It's ok, you didn't know about it so it doesn't matter" his back was facing me so I couldn't see the expression on his face.

"Do you want to know how they died?" he asked as turned his face to my direction."I killed them" he said with a smirk on his face, hoping to scare me off with his words but I didn't give him the reaction he wanted because just like him, I was also playing a game. Seems like we're both pawns in this game, he wants a child from and I want his support to take back my rightful throne from my uncle.

"Well you have your reasons, I do not know what made you killed them or what they might have done to you so I cannot judge you"I answered with a firm look. I could see the amused look in his eyes but he quickly got rid of it. He was about to say something but then a knock on the interrupted him.

Two maids appeared in front of us. "Your highness, My lady". They greeted and bowed. "Your highness shall we prepare her highness" they asked and he gave them a nod.

I knew what they were going to prepare me for but I am not ready for the wedding consummation yet.

They led me to the dressing room where they helped me out of my wedding dress into a silky white nightgown, with it's matching robe, they removed the pins from my hair and let it fall then they applied some perfumes on my skin.

They let to our private chamber and arranged my hair and dress to make sure everything was perfect.

"we'll tell his highness you're ready" they said and left.

A lot of terrifying scenarios were going through my because I was scared. I had never been touched by a man....my uncle made sure of that. Suddenly,he stepped in and walked. towards me, I closed my eyes waiting for him to pounce on me but the only thing i felt was the other side of the ned sinking. I opened my eyes and saw him ready to lay down and sleep.

"Aren't you tired"he asked.

"I am" I replied.

"Go to bed" he said which made me stare at him in disbelief.

"What about the consummation, I thought you married me because you wanted a heir"I asked, surprised by his statement.

"Go.To.Bed" he answered with a stern and cold gaze that frightened me a bit as he laid down to sleep.

I can't seem to wrap my head around what just happened.He didn't seem interested in the consummation.

Instead of worrying about what just happened, i decided to lay down and have a good night sleep.
