He knew his bad reputation and the lack of charisma will become a stumbling block in his path, thus, he thought of a plan, yes, a plan to not only unify the kingdom but also to bring it to newer heights in terms of development. But how will he manage to fabricate "heavenly" stuffs from his previous life when he didn't have the system or an extensive knowledge about engineering? Thus, Virtya Mariov came up with a plan... "I will build Shanghai, Tokyo, New York and Dubai. All these cities will stand in our kingdom!" Virtya uttered determinedly before he stared at the disoriented crowd which was giving him weird looks as if he was a clown. /"What is Tokyo city? Is it a new delicacy? When did our king start to cook for himself? Ok, What about New York? Is it a carriage?" The crowd was ablaze as Azuhai denizens discussed among themselves.../

Whiddiff palace

"Is there anything on my face?" Tanya asked after she realized that Virtya had stared at her for a long time without saying anything. She took out a piece of fabric and rubbed her face with it.

"I rubbed my face from the blood of that bastard, what else might be on my face?" Tanya was disoriented.

"Do you think I look handsome?" Virtya who was still staring at Tanya while supporting his head with his palm asked suddenly.

"What?" Tanya stopped rubbing her face and stared at Virtya questioningly.

"Errrmm... It's nothing. Even though Azuhai has not changed since fifteen years ago, I can assure you that it will definitely get a new makeover from now on." Virtya batted his eyelids and stared at the many bracelets around his wrist and shook them before he beckoned for Tanya to move closer to him.

While she was still confused, Tanya moved close to Virtya until the moment that their bodies were touching each other and then Virtya moved his face closer to hers.

He held her serious face and murmured close to her ear, "I have a plan and you have to believe in me because there is no one else in this kingdom that I trust the most other than you. You have to help me so that I can bring this plan to fruition. However, even if the plan fails, I will take you with me to a far away place where we could live happily in a simple life that is devoid of all this mess... But I hope it will not reach there." Virtya patted Tanya's shoulders and reclined on his seat, he didn't care about what Tanya was thinking right now as he just wanted to tell her something to calm his agitated heart.

"Phew! How fun it would have been if I was a mafia boss and then I order one of my gangster to give me a cigar. This moment would have been memorable. What a shame that I am a king in a backward world instead of something fun like being a mafia boss in a modern world..." Virtya murmured to himself dejectedly while opening and closing the window curtain of the carriage anticipating for one of the knights to come and give him a brown stick but that moment never came which left Virtya a little disappointed.

"What are you murmuring about?" Tanya who had now collected herself asked. She was now fixing her glaive to return it to its previous form. The glaive was a long weapon thus, Tanya had to modify it so that the weapon could allow a transformation from being a  glaive to turning to a knife at will. She simply needed to press a switch and the simple mechanism would do its wonders.

"It's an incoherent jabbering of mine. You wouldn't understand even if I tell you." Virtya said with a low voice. Out there, the difference between Polkok district and Whiten could be clearly seen. The roads even if they were not tarmacked, they were clean and it was just a little flooded after the rain but Whiten was more bustling as compared to Polkok and people seemed organized.

They were well dressed, it was noisy everywhere and other nobles and merchant carriages could be seen passing by.

And one should not forget that there were also beggars around the streets.

"Long live your majesty! Long live your majesty! Long live your majesty!" Other carriages stopped and the businesses and the people where the royal carriage passed by had to stop  and praise the king but Virtya could see and feel the unwillingness in their voices. They were  not happy with him, they were simply praising him because of the many knights who were now surrounding the royal carriage as it moved. No one was allowed to get close to the royal carriage, unless they wanted their heads to roll.

The knights just like the king and the knight commander were wearing heavy armour though the armour that the king and the knight commander wore were more flashy than that of the knights.

One should know that the moment that the royal carriage stepped in Whiten, the knights jumped out of their carriage and surrounded the king's carriage so that no one could get into the king's carriage and assassinate him, Whiten just like Polkok had a large population but Whiten was more complicated than Polkok.

The denizens of Polkok acted brazenly but those ones in Whiten acted discreetly and calculated which was more dangerous as compared to those brazen barbarians.

Clank! Clank!

The rattling of the scabbards and the shields against the armor of the quick moving knights was heard and everywhere that the king's carriage passed by, the people stopped what they were doing and lowered their heads as they chanted,

Long live your highness! Long live your highness! Long live your highness!

Drooom!

Two knights who were standing side by side opened the huge gates of the royal Whiddiff palace. The gate was so huge that it made the robust knights to look so small as if they were ants before it, but it was opened by them easily.

The knights lowered their heads while beating their fists onto their chests and allowed the royal carriage to enter.

"This!"

Whiddiff palace was old and it didn't look like a place that a king would stay according to Virtya. This was not how it was depicted in the movies in his past life.

Wear and tear, cracks and arrow marks was what occupied the walls of this palace.

It seemed that no repairs had been done in so many years but what was the past Virtya thinking? This was not what should be the image of a royalty, Virtya had passed by some of the castles of the nobles out there and they were better than this, where did Virtya took the money collected as tax... Of course, he used it to build his knighthood academy so that he could add more knights to guard him because he was always afraid that he might be killed one day.

Indifferently, Virtya exited from the carriage and he was astonished to realize that even while he was here, the knights used their shields to cover him as they led him into the palace.

NOTE:

One should know that Virtya DIDN'T receive all the memories of his predecessor. Receiving all that information would have shocked his mind because 15 years of life experience was a huge amount of data, thus, Virtya only received the useful knowledge like who was who in the leadership circle and the state of the kingdom as a whole.

From the arrow marks on the wall, Virtya could clearly tell why the knights were covering him in this place, it might be because an archer tried to assassinate the previous Virtya at one point, right?

AN: At my area, there is a ceremony that is still ongoing for the rest of this month thus, I might not upload many chapters because I can't concentrate with the celebratory air around me, not to mention that it is too noisy out there.

I hope you will understand.
