Whiddiff city

Whiddiff city was the largest city in Azuhai kingdom and boasted a population of about 100, 000 denizens. Don't look down on this number, the life of the denizens at these times and period was all about survival of the fittest and people died often as if it was nothing, thus, if any city in this world passed a population of more than a 100, 000 denizens, that city would be considered as an overpopulated city.

One should also know that the entire population of Azuhai kingdom was around 500, 000 and with 20% of the population staying in the capital, this strained the already little resources that the capital had and thus, Whiddiff city became divided.

There were five districts in Whiddiff city which signified the divide of the city between these five groups, however, they were both under the leadership of king Virtya.

Anyway, Whiddiff palace was situated in Whiten district, this was the district where a large percentage of the overly rich denizens inhabited. The district was well planed and it was clean as compared to the other four districts.

Secondly, there was Polkok district, this was the district that carried all the dirty deeds of the rich nobles who resided in Whiten. This district was previously an outskirt of Whiddiff city but it was resently included to be one of the district of Whiddiff by mistake.

One would find the paupers, thieves, assassins, prostitutes, drug dealers, slave traders, killers and all the criminals in this district but in summary, Polkok district was the home for the peasants and the sufferers.

This was the district that Virtya Markov found himself in.

But why did the previous Virtya went there when he knew clearly that everyone in Polkok hated him to the core and they wanted him dead?

Ok, it was reported that there was an area in Polkok district which inhabited the iron ore and because of how impatient and greedy the  previous Virtya was, he ordered his knights to take him to that area so that he could do an  inspection by himself. One should know that if iron ore was truly found in Polkok, Virtya could mine the mineral and use the money to stabilize his already falling kingdom but who would have thought that his royal fleet would be intercepted by the barbarians in Polkok?

Virtya didn't even get to see the area and right there and then, he started to show symptoms of being poisoned but the most interesting thing was that Virtya only felt tiredness, he didn't feel any pain, thus, no one in his cohort realized the anomaly including Virtya himself. It was a silent poison and its origins were unknown and it killed one silently,

Thus, Virtya collapsed while he was being escorted in the labyrinth that was created by the countless peasant shelters but it didn't take a long time before Virtya recovered. Of course, that was the time that Virtya Markov the librarian reincarnated after the previous Virtya died silently.

Anyhow, the other districts of Whiddiff city were Brovon district, Golton district and Pollow district.

Meanwhile, mud mixed with dirty flowing water splattered away as the royal carriages passed by quickly.

The carriages were almost leaving Polkok district and it could be seen that there was no more barbarian on the way to impede King Virtya's movement.

Virtya Markov pushed the window curtain aside and viewed where they were passing by,

From his peek, he could see some denizens moving up and down their daily routine and for the first time, he saw a person that was wearing decently other than his knights.

This person was cladded in a long garment and he was controlling his  horse that was carrying jars filled with water.

The movement of the horse was not fast as it plodded on the muddy ground while shaking the jars making some of the water in them to splash outwards.

All in all, what Virtya picked up from this was that he couldn't denied the fact that almost everyone in Azuhai hated him, he could see clearly in their eyes as they glanced at the passing royal carriage with disgusted looks, fear, hate and a sense of evil. It was as if, if anyone out there was given a chance today to do something, they would chose to kill him without hesitating.

"You have been too curious today. What do you want to see out there that you haven't seen? I think Azuhai is still the same as it used to be fifteen years ago." Tanya murmured absentmindedly. She was vigilant and she had realized that Virtya had been casting glances at everything around him as if he was new to this place.

Virtya was startled by her words before he released his grip on the curtains and let them to cover the window, then, he stared at her.

Tanya was 15 years old just like him and she had blue eyes, a smooth skin and a rarely seen long white hair which she liked to tie it into a ponytail so that it could not disturb her activity.

When it came to height, Tanya was an inch shorter than Virtya but their body proportions seemed to be almost the same because Virtya was emaciated while Tanya's figure was natural.

Virtya didn't knew why the previous Virtya was this emaciated just like the people that he ruled over, maybe the guy was simply so stressed up and pressured by the frequent rejection from his people and the inevitable fall of his kingdom. He knew very well that he might be killed one day and fear was ingrained deep in his bones, what he was just waiting for was for one day, an impudent person to show up and kill him, he knew that day would come after seeing the stares that everyone out there was giving him everyday.

Staring at Tanya without looking at anything else, Virtya was thinking about nothing but how beautiful Tanya was, he had even forgotten that this lass had mercilessly killed a person back then.

'She looks just like my crush who was a workmate of mine in that library. I remember the countless times that I have tried to approach her so that I can woo her but words kept disappearing in my mind the moment I stared into those beautiful blue eyes, I couldn't breathe, I did nothing but I  just stood there awkwardly and stared at her pretty face while swallowing hard and grinning from ear to ear... No wonder she nickname me a perverted cock-head while my other male workmates nicknamed me a loser who couldn't even utter a single word to a girl... Damn! What am I even thinking!'
