Chapter 53

2 Years later

On the streets of Qohor it was busy as usual as merchants walked into the city children ran around the city playing and the smell of the city was better than it was a few years ago. Above the city, you could see the dragons flying around the city.

On the street walking back to his home, Aroquo Ennos had a smile on his face as he looked around the city seeing all the new things that were created in the city such as better built houses and the highways which helped make the city streets less crowded.

Aroquo 1 year before coming to Qohor had been enslaved by some slavers with his wife and daughter. He thought that it was the end for them since they couldn't escape capture, but then one day while they were travelling to Volantis they were ambushed by some people who killed all the slavers.

He and his family were scared that they were going to be killed, but that wasn't the case as the people who killed the slavers had taken them to Qohor where they met with some men who were officers in the Empire that told them they were free.

And that wasn't all, as they also gave him a list of jobs that he can do to earn money to support his family. The highest paying job that was available to him was the city Guard, which came with training and during the training he would get three meals a day.

He picked the city Guard job as his name was written down on a sheet of paper. He asked what would happen to his wife and daughter while he was gone, and he was reassured that they will be safe and receive housing and for the first 6 months of their stay in the city.

This was something set up by the civil officer of the Empire which offered up to 6 months of free housing, but after that if you didn't buy your own house by the time was up then you would be kicked out.

Aroquo wasn't worried since his training would only be 3 months and that gives him three more months to buy a house or an apartment. He knew this because he was told that houses and apartments were quite cheap to buy in the Empire.

After settling everything, Aroquo was taken to the apartment that they would stay at for free for 6 months and told that he will leave for training the next morning.

Fast-forward 1 year from when he was saved by the Empire now Aroquo was a city guard receiving good pay to support his family, had a good apartment, his daughter was in school, and he and his wife are having another child which is due in some months.

If he had to compare his life with his life a year ago, obviously he loved the life he had right now.

This was the same for most people in the Empire, life had slowly improved over the years, increasing people's happiness and support for the Emperor. They hoped this peace would last forever.

But it wouldn't last forever, maybe a few more months, as an army from Slavers Bay was marching against Volantis. The Slavers Bay coalition was led by a group of Magisters who looked to extend the slave trade to back to all of the free cities.

The army numbered around 170k, most were unsullied, mixed in with mercenaries. Even the Golden Company had joined up with them.

But Maximus, who had his two dragons with him who were basically grown dragons, could vanquish the whole Slavers army. Not only did he have the Dragons, he also summoned the Great Eagles from Lord of the Rings. The Great Eagles would fight alongside the dragons with Maximus, meaning that now he basically had an air force.

He also summoned some Uruk-hai Warg Riders and more Elven archers and Spearman, decreasing his system points by 40k.

It wasn't until the Slaver's army was days away from Volantis did Maximus find out after receiving a message from Volantis that they were under attack. While Volantis wasn't technically a city in his empire, it was still a city under his protection and he wouldn't just let them take a city under his protection, so he planned to gather his army of 150k men to march on Volantis and take it back.

But gathering so many people would take some time, so he just sent more men to his fortress Chroyane to block any enemy attacks from coming into his territory.

Messages were sent out all over the empire as soldiers from each city gathered at Qohor which would take a couple of weeks to gather everybody then organize them. But Maximus had lots of officers in his service, so it shouldn't take too long.

Also, he had found the three dragons eggs in Braavos as the Governor there had tried to hide them from the Emperor in hopes of selling them to get a fortune, but he was found out and burned alive by the dragons.

Now Braavos had a new Governor and the people weren't that scared since it was said that the former governor was hiding dragon eggs from the Emperor which was a major offense since Maximus has been looking for the Dragon eggs for some years now and even sent out a Royal order that any Dragon eggs found must be brought to the Emperor, yet the governor failed to do this and was killed for not obeying a Royal order.

In Westeros the main events of the first season were just starting since Jon Arryn had died only something's were different like some of the dialogue between characters for instance when Robert talked about Daenerys while heading back to King's Landing with Ned instead they talked about the Empire.
