Gluttony

Hearing the crack of thunder along with a thick streak of red lightly slam into the ground. It aroused a sense of helplessness and fear in the eyes of people watching from a distance. Even people going towards the impact zone felt a sense of dread.

"What is this presence? Why do I feel so helpless?"

"Is it a high-rank beast? I've never heard of something causing such a storm..."

"Captain, are we going there? We may have a force of rank 3 people still... this storm is not normal."

A group of people stopped in a small clearing watched the stream of lightning slowly fade and disappear. Yet even though the lightning was gone the cloud remained present.

Standing at the head of this group a man in shining red armor accented with a black trim stood with a serious expression on his face. (Not sure if I described that well enough)

The man appearing to be middle-aged with slightly grey facial hair looked back at the younger members of his group. Most of his members were only in their mid-twenties, he felt terrible for asking them to even come this far. Moving his hand to the hilt of the sword that was hanging in a sheath by his waist, he decided as he turned around from the direction he had been going.

"Let's go back. I can't risk your lives for something too ominous. We will wait for information from other sources to arrive at the base before we make any decisions"

"Yes Sir!" The group said as they followed the older man back to their base.

Further inside the forest lightning had finally stopped. In a crater, the size of a semi-truck stood a boy in cloth clothes. He was clutching his arm while trying not to yell his heart out. This boy was Kameron.

(Calm down, the rune is about to finish assimilating with your arm)

"Are you fucking serious?! Why didn't you warn me about this??? This shit fucking hurts!" Kameron protested in his mind as he kneeled while clutching his arm.

Earlier as the lightning fell and impacted his arm he felt no pain. "This is pretty flashy," he thought and stood there watching as the lightning began to move from the wrist up to his shoulder. It didn't hurt as the lightning continued to spread across his arm like wiggling worms trying to burrow around in the ground.

Finally, Kameron felt his arm getting hot as the lightning stopped falling from the sky. He hadn't noticed but the area around where was standing has become a massive crater. Paying more attention to his arm as it started to get burning hot Kameron had to eventually grit his teeth as steam started to rise from the red marks on his arm.

Eventually, he had to kneel as the streaks on his arm started pulsing and the blood in his arm begin to boil. Before it only felt like the skin on his arm was getting hot but not it felt like his entire arm was on fire.

"What in the fuck! Why is this burning my arm???"

Kameron asked in his mind as he hunched over while holding his arm. At this point, the veins in his arm had bulged and were extremely visible. Unfortunately, it seemed like the blood within his veins were moving as the heat from his arm reached almost unbearable levels.

Suddenly Kameron saw the lightning symbols on his arm wiggle slower before eventually stopping as the color turned from red to black.

While panting heavily, Kameron stood up. His body was drenched with sweat and his arm was still warm from the rune assimilating with his arm.

"Damn! That hurt so fucking much!" He yelled before sighing and looking at his arm. The sleeve of his shirt had torn off when the lightning had struck so he was able to view his entire arm.

Surprisingly or maybe not, the lightning marks had stayed visible on his arm looking like a giant tattoo. "This looks kinda cool actually..."

Taking a few seconds to think about what had happened he quickly thought of something. "Crap, that lightning definitely attracted a lot of people. I have to leave before they get here!"

Looking around while steadying his breathing, Kameron decided to put the Summoning scroll, which was more of a book than a scroll, into his inventory before taking off in the direction of the water stream's flow.

"For now I need to find a new area to relax in. Then I need to either use this summoning scroll or level up a few times before going to a village. Or maybe I should go to a village first to see about ways to make money..."

After running downstream for around twenty minutes Kameron was able to cover a decent amount of ground for someone with level one stats. He finally stopped beside a somewhat large and smooth stone before taking a seat on it.

"It's only been an hour or two since I came to this world but it feels like forever... anyways I need to level up before I go to a town or village. I can't go into town without being able to sell stuff and get money. Plus I will be able to increase my level a few times."

Satisfied with his plan, Kameron took a look at the stream of water flowing further into the distance. He gulped and thought to himself. "I should get some water before I do anything."

(You should look at your Gluttony skill. It has changed some)

"What? If changed? Give me a sec..." Kameron said in his mind before walking over to the stream and kneeled on the gravel as he put his head into the water. It has a little bit of depth so it didn't immediately hit his head when he did that.

Swallowing a few gulps of water, Kameron decided to take his clothes off and take a wash the sweat off of his body. He noticed he has started to smell but sadly he didn't have any sort of soap or deodorant to make himself feel better.

Taking a few minutes to relax in the stream he stepped out onto towards the rock where he had had before, his clothes were thrown in the ground so despite his feet hurting slightly with every step he took getting over to the rock he successfully put his clothes and shoes on even though they were very damp afterward.

As he was putting on his pants Ina didn't forget to compliment him again on his "form" which caused him to put in his clothes faster and check the updated skill description of his Gluttony innate.

The skill is single target.

The user can devour all nonliving things, gaining a skill unique to what was devoured.

Unique characteristics of some devoured things may be assimilated by the user at random.

Gluttony will only activate if the target is no more than 1 rank apart from the user. Cannot use on the same target more than one time.

(Basically, as a rank one he cannot use the skill on anything above rank one)

The cooldown for the Gluttony Skill has been reduced by half. Skills can be forgotten or replaced.

Cooldown: 5 minutes

As a member of the Ancient Demon Family, The Nero, the user has a high affinity with the Seven Deadly Sins. If the user assimilates with all Seven Sins they will gain the qualification to challenge the current Demon King for the title "King of Demons"

Summon demonic lightning to your location and hit fire a stream of lightning at the target dealing 300% magic damage and inflicting paralysis for 2 seconds.

Mana cost: 1500

Cooldown: 4 hours
