Misty! Royal Vs Royal!
Steven then spent the rest of the evening Saturday hammering out the details via Bill to other departments and various influenced groups. Boundless had long joined hands and started working collaboratively with many different research groups on a few projects that were brought forwards to the company.
The company could claim research credit if they contributed a significant answer to whatever was being researched. Likewise Boundless also released its own nature thesis for other scientists as part of a collaborative research project, so this was a common and well known practice within the scientific circles.
He also had some messages back and forth with Lance as he told him a little more information on the Trade Machine that Bill seemed interested in. All in all, much more information and many more geniuses were going to flood in and Steven felt like this was the true starting point for his company. From this point on, everything was going to start getting faster like a snowball rolling downhill!
Steven smiled, this was why he set a foundation that wasn't rushed for himself. He was careful and planned his moves.
Steven although in a business sense was naive, he had learned about survival of the fittest in both his last life and this one, so he knew all too well that if he could snatch the top scientists and thinkers from around the world and get them to work with him, he would bring about a revolution to the pokemon world!
Steven then had the rest of the afternoon to himself after they got back to Cerulean City, so he paid a visit to the Bike Shop, where he was priced gouged 150,000 PokeDollars for a Bike! But the bike technology was still relatively new to this world, so the price was considered "fair". Steven, however, noted this down so he could rectify this immediately. After the purchase of the bike he went back to the pokemon center to rest.
Before he went to sleep he added a new research direction into Boundless Technologies Idea Forum Board, which was open to all high level staff and the elders to throw their ideas and such onto. He put on the board,"Mass production of lightweight, cheap, and affordable bicycles that last at least 2 years under constant use. Different variants for expected terrain, I.E. Mountain Bike, RaceWay Bikes, Acrobatics Bike (Acro Bike), Trick Bike (BMX). Also possible research into making forward motion automatic? - Steven Morganz
Steven chuckled as when the building was put up these ideas that were compiled would be given to the researchers in the future as possible ideas, and potential avenues to head down. He decided that the lucky person who gets this as their assignment in the future will get a 20% bonus no matter if they get 300 percent return. Why not? Rules were meant to be broken. Maybe the universe will see it fit to be one of the first things to be chosen, who knows?
Sunday was each pokemon day to practice their chosen faiths, with each of them going off to do their own form or practice. Steven took a couple of meeting calls and messaged a couple of people from his room in the center, while also compiling more theory he had on a wide range of subjects. He was in his zone right now, and with Bill's assistance, he had a functioning computer to look up various documents and information. He blazed through all the Ideas he had in his head, as there were quite a few fundamental Ideas that he wanted to be the first to introduce.
Steven spent his entire Sunday like that.
Then it was Monday! Time to Challenge the second badge! Steven and his team got up early and did some morning exercises in the forest next to the city.
Then, at 10Am, Steven and Prince walked up to the gym along with 2 other people who seemed to be challengers. 1 was a Female with long blonde hair who was wearing all black and had a haughty and confident attitude. The other was a much smaller girl who looked to be around 15 or so, who wore faint but beautiful rainbow colors, and this girl had soft angelic eyes.
Steven walked up to the gym and stood in front of the door along with the other 2 women. Steven noticed that the blonde had a Gible standing next to her, and the small brown haired girl had a Magnemite silently floating behind her back.
Steven waved at them. The Blonde asked,"Who are you? Are you here to challenge William too?" Steven was confused at that, who the hell was William?
Noticing his confusion the Blonde continued,"This is the water Gym, second in the indigo circuit, and this gym is headed by William waterflower."
Steven then had,"Ah!" moment as he realized his mistake. Either Misty hadn't taken over yet, or these ladies didn't know she had taken over yet. Steven took out a note and wrote down,"I am mute, sorry! Everyone calls me Mute God, Do you ladies have names?"
Steven hands the note to the Blonde and right after she takes it from him, the doors open and a guy comes out and then quickly pulls all the challengers inside! Before they could even consider what was going on, they walked towards the back area and through the long hallways. The announcer then said,"I have gotten your challenge requests and as a functioning gym we must accept. However be advised that William Waterflower is no longer among the living and passed away a little over 5 months ago. The Waterflower family is still getting over their grief so please try your best not to bring up his name or this subject. Thank you and have a great fight, now, who's first?"
All 3 of them were a little stunned at the brazen speech the announcer had just given them. Steven was the first to snap out of it as he took out a piece of paper listing his name and his pokemon and giving them to the announcer.
The annoncer took the paper from Steven and then said,"Ok! Oh! I think I've heard about you from my friend over in Pewter! He did tell me to keep a look out, and guess what, the first fight always has the most viewers! Go for it kid!" The man then pushed Steven out a side door and into a large stadium that had 2 half semi-circular platforms that was surrounded by water. The 2 semi circles were also split apart and separated by about 5 feet of water. There was some rocks jutting out of the surface of the water, as well as large lily pads that dotted the surface of the calm surface.
Steven was taken down onto 1 of the broken halves and he stepped onto the piece of platform as it jiggled slightly under his added weight. Steven frowned as he struggled to balance properly. Then his eyes lit up as he also thought of new ways to train and new techniques to add. His mind started to churn and new ideas were brought forth.
While Steven was lost in his thoughts, a great rumbling occurred underneath the water, and the crowd of nearly 15,000 people sitting above Steven and watching on, smiled as they watched the familiar entrance!
Soon, chants started to call out,"Misty! Misty!" and "Waterflower! Waterflower!". The rumbling started to get louder and more frequent and started to sound like an angry roar from the depths. Then the pool of water started to turn into a whirlpool! The whole body of water started to churn and crash and Steven smiled in pure delight as this unintentional gave him and Prince and good challenge to overcome!
He screamed at the prince in his mind,"Prince! Stand still! Fortify your stance and don't let the waves and shifting platform affect you! This is training!" Prince nodded his head and set his stand in what he felt like was his perfect solid starting stance and then he waited.
The platform soon turned 30 degrees up and Steven and Prince staggered slightly but didn't fall like everyone else in the past had done. The platform started to spin around in circles and instead of letting entropy take hold, like everyone had done, Prince and Steven held the stance and stood firm against the pressure. It felt like a mountain was collapsing on their bodies as the G-forces from the whirlpools collapsed on their bodies. But they stood their stances and even gradually got used to it.
Then the whirlpool stopped and a young girl with a Staryu hopped onto the adjacent crescent platform and looked at Steven incredulously. Even the audience was now speechles as they had just watched Steven stand his ground and not give and inch to the massive whirlpool which had encompassed him! What a monster! Who was this person?!
The annoncer recovered quickly and yelled out,"Welcome one and all to the Cerulean City Gym Challenge!! Today we have a special challenger as you can see! He had made a name for himself as an unrivaled force and a Gauntlet Master! He has mastered the art of training his pokemon and he even released the now famous pokemon training basics guide! This is that trainer!!! This is the MUTE GOOOOOODDD!!!"
The crowd roared in crazy screams and many started to pull out old looking recording devices so they could sell the pictures online later, while many cameras held by the gym itself and a few reporters started to also record the battle. This was some good stuff!
The announcer continued,"And in the other corner we have our lovely Gym Leader, the legend herself, Misty WATERLIIILLLYYYY!!" The crowd hyped her up as well, though it was clearly not to the level that Mute God was at! Misty face hardened upon realizing she had just gotten out-celebrated in her own damn gym!
Staryu jumped forwards into the water between the two crescents. Prince then also stepped forwards but didn't jump into the water.
The announcer yelled out,"Begin!" And both pokemon instantly did a side dash to limit direct attacks right off the bat.
Steven eyes widened a bit in intrigue when he saw that Misty's Staryu also completed this move with no command. It seems Misty has been studying the guide material thoroughly. This was gonna be fun!
Prince let loose a massive psywave to start off the fight! The Staryu ducked underneath the surface of the water! It then used swift while still underneath!
Prince did a few backflips to maneuver out of the way, then double teamed 2 other clones and had them run around the Staryu to confuse it. The many Prince's teleported all around the arena as Staryu struggled to locate the real Prince.
The real Prince took this moment and teleported directly behind the Staryu and used disarming voice!
Staryu was hit back a few feet in its confusion and sent out a wild water pulse that Prince avoided by teleporting out of the water.
The Staryu was annoyed now! It jumped out of the water, gathering a lot of water within its carrying sacks. It jumped out and used a powerful water gun on the 3 Prince's who had momentarily regrouped.
2 of the clones were hit and scattered. The real Prince tried to dodge out of the way, but his foot was clipped and he got his first injury!
Prince then did another double team dance and the Staryu shot out a water pulse on response! Prince smiles as he immediately canceled his double team dance, and teleported above the Staryu.
Prince then used sing while water pulse was still being fired, catching Staryu off-guard! Staryu was immediately put to sleep and the torrent of water stopped!
Prince then unleashed a giant psywave! Instantly the Staryu was K.O.'d!
The announcer yelled out,"WHAT! Look at that folks! Mute God has finished off Misty's Staryu with a simple sing combo! This is a good lesson for you young trainers! Never forget your basics!"
Steven chuckled as though that whole process looked relatively simple, Prince was baiting the Staryu in a specific way the entire battle. Prince's injury could be said to simply be a mistake. Something to improve on!
Misty then said to Steven from across the pond,"Mute God, was it? Normally I would just battle with the pokemon I have personally trained, however I can see the normal challenge won't be good enough for you, am I correct?"
Steven thought about for a moment and then simply nodded his head.
The announcer was a little confused as this was not planned. Thinking on his feet he called out," The gym leader has issued a new challenge! Is she going to do what I think she's doing?!"
The crowd leaned forwards in their seats in anticipation.
Misty continued,"That is why, for this fight, you shall contend with my fathers Starmie!"
The announcer yelled out,"WOAH!!!! Misty has invoked her right to a specialty gym challenge! For those who are viewing at home or don't know what is going on, a specialty duel is when the strongest gym pokemon available to choose can be thrown out as a test of strength! Not every gym has one, but a specialty pokemon of a gym is one of the rarest types of pokemon, A ROYAL!!!"
The crowd screamed in hysterics and the viewing number started to climb from the meager 30,000 it was at before, to well over 50k!
Steven then nodded and Prince resumed his battle stance. Another Royal? Prince thought to himself,"This should let me properly gage my strength. I feel close to tipping point in my evolution."
Steven thought to Prince,"Stay sharp." It was simple but I got the job done as Prince hardened his nerves and got prepared to fight the Royal Starmie.
Misty pulled out an ultra ball and released a powerful looking Starmie onto her platform deck. It exuded its own pressure as it stood high and mighty on its side, staring down Steven and Ralts.
Then the match started as the announcer yelled out,"Begin!"
Prince sidestepped immediately while Starmie stood there and simply fired off a powerful water pulse to begin the fight!
Prince used teleport as water pulse changed direction and nearly hit him as the Starmie re adjusted to continue to shoot! Prince did the same tactic as the Staryu, but used confusion to try for the added effects. The confusion came crashing down onto the Starmie who didn't have time to react!
The starmie then spun and easily glided off the stage, seemingly not affected by the confusion! It dived underneath the water and then started to shoot water gun after water gun at Prince!
Prince was still slightly struggling with the constantly shifting platform as well as the fact it was now slippery as well from all the water was giving him a hard time. So instead he utilized his telporting technique to quickly avoid the water he couldn't avoid and then simply dodging the ones he could.
This went of for nearly a full minute as the
Starmie and Prince played a very dangerous game of whack-a-mole!
Finally the Starmie seemed to have enough and jumped back out of the water, now on Stevens platform and Prince on Misty's.
Suddenly, the Starmie roared out and sent a small psychic move at Prince. Prince's eyes suddenly opened in surprise and then Steven saw him nod his head in acceptance.
Both trainers had no idea what was about to happen.
It was at this critical moment that something within Prince's body cracked. An audible cracking noise was heard from Prince and before anyone could see what was wrong, a blinding white light engulfed the arena!
The announcer yelled out,"WOAH! FOLKS MUTE GODS RALTS IS EVOLVING MID BATTLE WITH A ROYAL! WILL THIS BE ENOUGH TO CLAIM VICTORY!?"
After the light stopped, out stepped a new and very much improved Prince who now stood much taller than before as a Kirlia.
Then the two pokemon simultaneously sent off their moves! Ralts unleashed 60% of his true strength and roared out a thunderous psywave! The Starmie used its strongest attack, "Psychic"!
The two attacks met in the middle as one of the rarest forms of pokemon battling was being shown to 10's of thousands of people, Energy Battle!
A loud explosion was heard after the two collided and wind whipped around the stadium. Both the seasoned Misty and the freak trainer himself Steven, could barely stand on the platforms as they bobbed up and down and moved around the arena!
Prince was running low on energy and seeing as how Starmie wasn't letting up its attack, Prince released his full 100% power with no restraint! Prince knew that Baron was always there for backup, but the situation was different now! He had to give it his all, his pride was on the line dammit!
In one huge burst of energy, Prince sent a huge energy psywave to strengthen his previous one and completely smashing Starmie's attack!
Prince huffed at the side but did not fall. Everyone waited with baited breaths for 5 seconds, and when the dust cleared, the Starmie was found knocked out and floating against the side of the arena water tank.
Prince had won! The crowd cheered on as Steven and Prince reveled in their newfound glory!
