"keep pushing!, Don't leave them in at any cost!" Screamed the teachers as fear could be seen on their faces.

"Women old and young should go upstairs to the last floor immediately" said the delegate as she directed the crowd to the next floor, but her sight did not deviate from the men trying their best to contain the horde, as her sight landed on one of the beast, his eyes had already turn blood red, half of his face was torn apart making it reddish, as the zombie growl as it send the hands trying to enter, this zombie was once his boyfriend and the only man she loved.

Brian kept pushing, unknownly why, he was the only one feeling less exhausted as he kept pushing with all his might, beside him, Edward kept on pushing, showing how firm his stamina was.

Edward is a sportive, practicing Taekwondo and other forms of martial arts, extremely popular and strong, in comparison with Brian, who just an ordinary lazy boy who only kept watching animation and doing what is necessary to feed himself, this two opposite personality made it a mistery on how the became friends.

"Everyone up, search for any heavy object, large enough to block access to the steps, bench, table, chairs or even the death corps, just barricade the steps fast" screamed one of the boys blocking the door, his name was Billy, a troublesome and annoying individual who loves fighting, but at this instance, he behaved like the main character of a novel as everybody did as he ordered.

As time passed the horde kept growing and the men where overwhelmed by their numbers as the barrage door kept falling apart in pieces, and it did not take long for an individual to be harm.

"Haaaa!" He screamed loud enough to alert the orders as he hand gradually turn purple and a violent urge to tear up his face, as his eyes started bleeding. The mixture of tears and blood could be seen on his face as he kept shouting in agony, this situation frightened the remaining men, as the started abandoning their positions one by one, running to the second floor of the building.

At this instance, chaos was the only outcome, as the men numbers dropped, Billy was the first to flee leaving everybody behind, next was Kaiser and Rudy his closest friends who followed him.

Brian had no reason to fight for a falling battle, but Edward was reluctant to abandon the teachers to their faith, as he kept pushing, the teachers admired his bravery and kept closing the gap.

The fact that the horde was large doesn't signify their strength superiority, their coordination was off, as some zombies were smashed on falling to the ground, orders moving backwards and forwards like drunkers, giving the opportunity to the teachers to gradually push and fortify the door, adding new planks and nailing them ending their victory in this first battle.

As everyone tried taking back their breath, Brian help Edward to the second floor for a rest, as he laid him on a nearby wall and asked Rebecca to look after him, he then ran to the end of the corridor and looked out, the coast was clear, no zombie were around, it looked as if all were centralised on the front door, which comfort Brian.

Billy and his friends came down from the third floor as the did not spare any concerns towards the effort of Edward and the teachers, the tool a bottle of water and left.

It was already dark outside, only the grow of the zombies could be heard, for the whole night, nobody could close their eyes. Brian took out his phone, no network bar as he sight and sat down near Edward

"When did all this started?" Asked Edward, as his he looked at the order students and teachers who tried their best to remain calm

"Why hasn't it been inform, how can the government be so negligent, why is it happening to us, we are Doom, the situation is getting out of hand" he could not stop asking.

"Don't ask, everyone beginning with the government had been taken off gaured, as the news reported, the situation wasn't encouraging in the european and white countries, Africa was the last base, but it look as if we to have fallen, for nobody knows how the virus infiltrated into the land" said a nearby teacher as he applied bandage to his wounds.

"Cases of contamination were reported but wasn't taken seriously, as it grew, and spread at a rapid space, it look like the situation when out of control, I am surprised that we are still standing, some countries are said to be annihilated, but it was once regarded as rumours, but now, looking outside, I wondered if this rumours were only rumours" said the teacher, he was called Bairon, Mr Bairon Clark, a name not common in an African territory.

"I have a bar!, a network bar!, I can connect to the internet!, Everyone!" Screamed a student, as everyone one took out their respective phones to dail their relatives phones numbers, and as time passed some some where crying, others looked at ease and certain could not reach out to their families given them less hope on their safety, one of this people was Edward, as his calls weren't answered.

"Duuuduu....duuuduuu" a phone started to ringing, as Brian hurriedly picked it up.

"How is the situation!" Asked Brian.

"I would be brief, I am sergeant Cornell Smith, you are ordered to secure Dr Jericho in exchange of your family's safety, it would be a temporal duty, she is an important asset" said the sergeant Cornel.

"What?!, Why can't you guys mobilise a SWAT force to rescue her"asked Brian.

"The situation is worst that our actual prediction, I can't answer more, my sincere apologies on not having the time to explain to you the functions and capacities of the vaccine serum" said the sergeant.

"Where is Steve?" Asked Brian, but the line was cut off, only a last message was send, coordinations, indicating the Central town, hospital new foundation.

"Isn't that the location of the New foundation hospital?" Asked a boy, he did not look familiar to Brian, but the fact that he knew the location was advantageous to him.

"Hmm, how do you know it?, And what's your name?" Asked Brian Edward beside, got curious, Brian has been acting strangely, and this made him curious.

"Actually, my dad and mom work there as doctors, so, I am kind of familiar to that place, ohh, my name is Adrian, nice to meet you" said Adrian.

"Is my pleasure, are you planning to head there?!" Asked Brian.

"I think so, that's my only hope to see my parents alive, sure, I think they are still" Adrian said, but he looked uncertain as his face carried a hint of fear and confusion.

"We are leaving tomorrow" said Brian as he stood up.

"Why?!" Both Edward and Adrian were startled, "what's the reason" asked Edward in disbelief, everybody looked at them as even Kaiser and Rudy came down to watch.

"I have someone to save there" said Brian.

"Who is that person, is no time and joke to play animated hero or whatsoever, be serious, what's wrong with you!?" Said Edward, he looked angry, as he clench his hand, Brian did not say anything, as he looked at him and everyone, who took him as a bizarre, idiotic and useless person.

Brian was used to this gazes, as his daily life was made of it, people looking at him, belittling him, and taking him for a nobody, but at this situation, his family's safety was in his hands, as their situation was unknown, and the only person who could make him see them again was the Jericho in question, there was no reason to east time here, waiting for death.

"Adrian, are you coming?" Ignoring Edward, he asked Adrian, who looked confused, everybody was looking at him and this guy, what was he supposed to say, no? And stay with uncertainty on his parents conditions or yes? And would have to go out and face the zombies.

"Take a decision" Brian said.

Meanwhile, a large body mass approach the school gate, the hideous appearance was gastly to the eyes, as numerous bloody head could be seen attached together to form one, large hands and a disgusting body form as if trying to merge together, as the hideous creature walk in direction to the school.

In the future, nobody would know this information, the advent of a new zombie began here, the first variant zombie.
